I happened to be in Puchong for work yesterday and since I had failed to withdraw 4k from my regular (Sunway Pyramid) HLB ATM earlier in the week, I thought I'd give the Puchong branch a try.

OP states Jalan Kenari 1 branch, so I went there first, but none of the ATM gave out 4k. Then I went a bit further down the road to the Pusat Bandar Puchong branch, that one 4 of the 5 ATM couldn't, only one (right at the end, shorter and older looking) could withdraw 4k.

Please provide more details so that can update OP. Which branch (specific name, address), which ATM (cash recycle machine, is it visually different from others) etc.

IMO it's just a glitch. Perhaps the bank ATM had a hang or maintenance issue. The fact that the withdrawal failed immediately means its unlikely to be someone trying to use your card details.

Only possible scam I can identify here is if someone has skimmed your card at said bank. But in that case they wouldn't be using the details to re-withdraw at the same ATM (those scams typically use the details in some dodgy club in thailand or cambodia instead).

BP got no max reload if you reload from savings account (which is the exact same effect as if your salary goes in to your BP). You can get your 20k salary, reload 10k to BP and spend from there, reload again.

The max 10k is only for CC reload. From bank account is unlimited (of course subject to using the card as the card can only hold 10k max).

Now is Raya period, lots of people withdrawing money. Unfortunately its hard to predict when they'll reload the ATM. If it's also a CDM you can test by depositing and straight trying to withdraw.

For the record, my favourite ATM (Sunway Pyramid) I've also failed 3 times in the past couple of months. Can't say for sure if its due to any change, but the physical ATM and the software has not changed. However I have some secondary (a bit more mafan) ATM which still works, so it's not a across-the-board change for all HLB ATM.

Definitely eligible. BigPay is considered online. This is stated in the SCB thread OP.

Is that CDM reported previously as able to withdraw 4k in the first place? We discussed about certain ATM which worked before but currently failing.

EDIT: Also, 7x4000 means she's not using BigPay to withdraw, since BigPay is max 10k =) Even if she has 3 BP cards for some reason still not enough.

Why can't be by debit card? I think that's more likely than using BigPay. Especially since if using BigPay you'd normally want to redeposit immediately (especially if carrying 28k)

Can withdraw whatever you have in your savings account I think. Per withdrawal got limit, but dunno if per day got (long time ago used to have la).

Actually not having enough cash is the best. You stand there and say no cash, ask whether they rather give you free meal or accept your card.
