Thanks. I've been doing an endless loop by comparing both CX5 and CRV, both to my liking.
I like Honda Sensing so if I choose CRV, it will be the one with HS. As for CX5, I think I might go with the 2.2D 2WD.

Now, still not sure which to get, still looking around for other models too.

Coming from ASX, my priority is to have bigger boot size, bigger cabin size and gadgets wink.gif

Those who're using car seats, can you share your experience? Does it still left ample space after placing the car seat? Can 2 adult sit next to it?
*
If you only target for space especially boot space then no doubt only CRV, CX5 boot space not much different from ASX.
Tested my colleagues New CRV and CX5, new CRV NVH pretty bad w/ rough road noise/wind noise/shaking which quite similar to my initial FL CX5 model but new CX5 NVH is awesome plus back passenger comfort mainly the GVC.

Spacious but not that comfort due to NVH issue or less spacious but perfect drive w/ optimum NVH, your own choice.
Initial FL CRV NVH much better and comfort but not sure why they degrade it in new model which could be new design so take time to improve in next FL. smile.gif

From your requirement "bigger boot size, bigger cabin size", CR-V definitely fits the bill. Whether the handling and NVH is on par or lower than CX-5, you'll need to test it out to see if it's to your liking.

CX-5 is on the losing side in terms of boot size and cabin size. The rear seats fit comfortable for 2 person but a bit cramp for 3. On the other hand, the rear seats for CR-V is big enough for 4 person but you have to squeeze in a bit.

Gadget and tech wise I believe they are on par but only if you compare the highest spec of CX-5 which is the diesel variant against the CR-V TCP variant with Honda sensing.

Hi guys.. Anyone tried 70mai by xiaomi before?

Any budget dvr to recommend? wink.gif

If you do not mind battery type dashcam, you can give XiaoYi a try. Else you can go for Viofo A119 v2 as they are using capacitor instead of battery but it's more expensive.

Budget dual dashcam wise (rear + front) you could give Mini 0906 a try. Or you can do a 2 x any dashcam setup. A tier higher would be Viofo A129 duo.

pressing the brake harder = tuk tuk tuk

slamming the brake due to emergency = no sound except screeching of tyre on floor (short distance) for emergency brake which is normal

i guess it is a design flaw which does not effect the performance. I will just highlight to the service centre during my first 1000 and won't expect any immediate replacement. it only happen maybe 1/100 times i brake

QUOTE(ericme @ Aug 31 2018, 10:44 PM)
Same issue with me. Tomorrow morning will go to service center to understand what is this issue about.
*
I've checked with the SA and service center during my first 1k km services and they told me it's normal. But it's a flaw if you were to ask me since my cheap Myvi also don't produce such sound when I brake sweat.gif Not sure if there's anything we can do about it other than just live with it.

QUOTE(hazremi @ Sep 1 2018, 04:28 PM)
for 1st service 1000km, do you stick with the semi-syn oil or upgrade to fully syn oil?
*
Stick with semi-syn oil for the first 1k km and perhaps will switch to fully syn oil for the next service.

QUOTE(hazremi @ Sep 2 2018, 12:33 PM)
But fully syn oil at SC is 5w-40, not suitable for our engine. Just wondering if semi syn is good enough
*
Any reason why it is not suitable? Semi syn is good enough if you ask me but it's not the best. Same goes to RON 95 and RON97 dilemma.

It'll also depend on the driving condition, surrounding weather and etc. For cars that operate in high temperature than standard engines, I do believe fully synthetic oil helps.

I'll just use fully synthetic for a peace of mind.

Am using it and IMHO it has good video quality, fast and sleek. With the price less than 120, it is a bargain. rclxms.gif

If rear space and boot size are your priority, get the CR-V and be done with it. Stop looking back at the CX-5.
Rear seats of CX-5 is not as spacious as CR-V or other similarly-sized SUV. On my previous 2011 Kia Sportage GT and my FIL’s 2014 CR-V, we can seat 3 adults in the rear but on the CX-5, it will be very cramped

The only way you can seat 2 adults with baby seat is by placing the baby seat in the center, and the adults have to be slim built.
I’m using Graco Slim baby seat with belt-type Isofix latch, so I am able to put the car seat in the center, but if your baby seat is using fixed isofix, you can only seat 1 adult in the rear
*
Bro, I thought the child seat suppose to be mounted at the rear passenger seat? Guess your kid preferred to have a front view?

From the pic, the seat is kinda bulky. Glad my kids doesn't required this anymore.

5W-40 viscosity too "think" for Skyactive... you will definitely hate it as it make the car feel sluggish when pick up...unfortunately SC only provide Shell Fully Synthetic for 5W-40 or 0W-30 (free for Diesel variants).... Top up RM1xx for 5W-40 or RM2xx for 0W-30 depend on 4L or 5L...

I only use once for 1 week w/ 5W-40 and complain HQ say why use this type of EO then SC refunded me back my money plus replace back to free oil of semi syn 5W-30.

Not sure bro. I would buy from Lazada and install it myself. Or you can buy from Lazada and ask the shops outside to install for you but they'll charge around 50 bucks.

It is mounted on the rear passenger seat, but at the center instead at the left or right rear seat.
On overseas CX-5 model, they have 3 positions for the rear tethers, i.e. left, center and right at the rear of the seats but on local CX-5, the rear tethers are only for left and right seats.

Ah I see. I don't like the 5w-40 as well. Don't they have 5w-30 fully synthetic?

Don't think we can benefit from 0W-30 since our country's weather and temperature is hot

read the handbook.

mazda has never recommend 5W-40, or even 40.

i wonder too.

bermaz SC quite no standard 1.

why?

1) Not all SC want to sell 0W-30 although we are willing to pay more.
2) Basically almost all SC speak slightly different words. For eg, a 6 months old new SC center (not Bermaz SC) told me they never heard of 5W-40, and Bermaz give them 0W-30 fully only, and then the 5W-30.
3) One of my KL friend shows that the SC he went do supply 5W-30 FULLY. yes FULLY, I'm shocked.
4) Bermaz SC that I went for the 1st time told me they wont give 0W-30 fully to petrol car.

Engine Oil only got so many different speaking. Well done bermaz and its team.

5) Some SC claimed they can give "Original Android Interface", "Power boot", and "Paddle Shift". Bermaz Approved they said.
6) etc etc
