BTW, CX-5 is good car and you did the right choice. In fact during tax holiday period to change the car is right timing but you have to consider that the second value of your old car also depreciated, so net off is save not much unless you buy additional new car without trade in.

Some thoughts on I-stop system.
Actually is quite a intelligent system, I-stop only activate when I want it to.
When in traffic jam, if I not fully floor the brake pedal, by slowly slowly pressure it, It would engine stop (and I-stop indication blinking) and i fully floor the brake pedal (if i wanted to) then only I-stop activate.
So along my normal day ride every morning about 10km traffic jam, the I-stop won't disturb me with engine stop actually.....

Ya. the vibration when engine restart really annoying, but the engine restart and moving forward the timing and duration almost seamless (for me, and I first time with this I-stop system) feel Good for me.....

Ya, I noticed the vibration when idling too, (sometimes not everytime), I presume is fan kick in?

Hello. Those of you with two layers of tinting at the front windscreen do you have any issues with visibility? Is the vision through the windscreen still sharp and crisp?

Double layer also? Then how much VLT for the add-on layer?

How to test it besides smashing the windows? I've tried in the past to open the doors without the key on me and it just sits there... Though I wasn't forceful about it. Do remember that Bermaz could have very well stripped the car off this function as they did the other missing features available for our car on that website.

Yeah, I remember that case well.. I believe it was with Raytech's security tint right? Didn't work out well cuz glass was shattered into pieces.

Only if Bermaz is giving options for us buyers to add on to many of the features like alarm, power tail gate, head up display, power seat for passenger etc.

The tint is one product which I am not too happy with.

6) Built in navigation is so bad. A lot of POI is missing. Many address can't be searched. When I searched online, found that it is using Tom Tom GPS. There are tutorial to update the map our self. Will give it a try and see if the map improves. Overall Mazda infotainment system control is good. Very easy to use. All information is easily accessible via the rotary knob.

I just paid the deposit and signed the loan for the car. i am picking up next week my new CX-5 2.0L GLS (Meteor Gray). Booked since 16th July and got the car one month later, SA said i am lucky coz of high competitor from GST holiday shoppers.

Do you guys have a checklist i should carry along during the pick up of car? anything i should look out for?

Usually how long does the demonstration for new car will take? by current SA the service not that good and he tends to rush things, hence i need some preparation and advise.

That day a moron taxi driver just cut right in front of me which he was in the wrong as I was going straight on the main road, as usual I emergency brake and the iStop is activated as I need to turn the steering wheel to avoid that moron from hitting me. Steering wheel is not functioning as engine is stopped.

This iStop system is not good under such situation.

Dont serve the purpose of iStop if 20-30 sec to kick in.

The idea was to minimize carbon foot print as much as possible. If you may aware, when u r driving in a city for like 30 mins, u may have about 3-5 mins of stopping time. This is when the carbon footprint increasing for almost no contribution.

So if let say 20-30 sec to kick in, might as well dont give istop?

Istop is a great tech, specially this one made by mazda. If you use it properly, by properly i mean no high rev, aircond above 24c, u can easily get 15-40 sec istop time in a good to moderate traffic conditions.

But it is just not for malaysian who pampered so much by the aircond.

Mind u, I’m malaysian too, i permenantly shut off istop long ago.

We have since learnt that the the proposed exemption list released today does not mean that there will be no SST being imposed on cars at point of sale. The exemption with regards to motor vehicles only applies to CKD packs – for sedans, four-wheel drives, station wagons and racing cars – and not the final assembled vehicles, so SST will still be factored into pricing when the time comes.

Thanks. I've been doing an endless loop by comparing both CX5 and CRV, both to my liking.
I like Honda Sensing so if I choose CRV, it will be the one with HS. As for CX5, I think I might go with the 2.2D 2WD.

Now, still not sure which to get, still looking around for other models too.
