Hello CX5 owner, any good recommendation for tint? Which one should go 3M or Llumar?
Which series of 3M/Llumar are highly recommended? Please share!
Thank you so much!

Day 4 quirks

- Discovered the driver's window is kinda 'loose' and makes a sound as if something's not tight enough every time I roll down the window

- GPS is a hell to use when using the rotating knob. Keying in the destination is best done when stationary, when the touch screen is activated

- Speakers continue to be good at best. Wish we get that Bose speakers here

- Engine noise is loud during startup. Not a surprise as we already discovered this the day we went to book 3 months ago

- still getting used to the sheer size of this vehicle, which is posing some challenges when performing side parking and going through that one tight corner at the office basement parking

the initial startup / cold start having loud noise is due to i-stop system...

after driving for a while, you can try shutting down the engine...then restart again after 30 mins...there won't be such noise anymore

right and wrong.

iStop only triggered when it is in working temperature (50-100c)

when u ignited your car after a long nite, it may need 30sec-50sec to warm up (1k-1.2k rev) until exceed 50celcius.

if you wan to shut the noise down, just shift your gear to D. It will automatically drop down to 700 rev

erm...what i am trying to say is the loud noise only happen during initial start up / cold start

if you have been driving the car for say like 1 hr, shut down the engine, after an hour you start the engine again the engine is not fully cooled off yet then the noise won't happen

i always waited for 1 minute every morning when the rpm drops to 1k rpm then only switch on the aircon and start driving

Just start the car and zoom zoom immediately. I never waited for 1 minute. All the cars I drove engine was fine and never got damage. (Touch wood). So far my Cx-5 in the morning start up at reasonable noise. Same throughout the day.

Waiting for car to heat up only apply if you live in cold country. The morning temperature of 25c and above is just nice and don’t think it will effect the car.

If your car is vibrating or have louder noise, bring it to service Centre instead

Just learn this today is not necessary to warn up the car engine before drive. During my car hand-over, my SA told me recommended to let car warn up the engine until RPM start tuning down and stable then only drive.

Finally get to experience the SCBS-F feature. Was going slow about 30 or so.. Car in front suddenly braked, I responded by braking too. But apparently the car thought I wasn't going to be able to brake properly and in time. Saw the warning BRAKE! flash and the pedal seized from my foot and depressing itself fully. Luckily fellow behind was able to stop in time too. So good to know, that feature works. Couldn't intentionally test it. smile.gif

On the car start and go or not.. Depends, if I hear the louder engine start or not. If I do, I wait for about 30 seconds. Though, 9/10 times it doesn't and so just pop it in D and roll off. Though I drive more sedately until it's reached the 100 degree operating temperature. Then can go all out. Mainly cuz I'm now surer that the oil is at optimum temp too.

I did. Please search this thread first.. Got many discussions about this already.. Key terms include " break" and "engine".
