2.2D engine issues, indeed some owners encounter issues after long run, some did not. Its all over owners group. As I said maybe Mazda resolved it

What issue encountered by diesel engine ?

Diesel engine is robust and most diesel car can run 400 to 500 thousand km without issue

Usually problem is with turbo or poor maintenance is the reason. But do share what is the issue as I am a diesel fan.

Blown gasket ? Is it cast iron block ? Usually diesel engine bulletproof even to piston level due to significant pressure as opposed to petrol engine

I guess modern diesel if using aluminium block this is where problems will crop up

Hey guys 👋 I just booked a CX-5 2.2D and aware the coolant splash issue and engine blown.

I checked with my SA they said if you change your service intervals to 5 to 7k km will prevent this issue. Beside this any maintaining tips to improve the reliability of this engine?

I heard that the 2024 engine already improved and issue less happen.

yeah I just heard the news after I changed my booking lol, but still ok because RON95 subsidy going to remove soon. Long term wise diesel still saver then petrol.

Understand that this is a common issue which involve the bush or the lower arm.

i have change twice the bush and also the lower arm.

This time round, SC suggest just apply grease on the bush..

did not mention what kind or type of grease.

True thing. It’s very crampy at the back seats of the CX5. Maybe I should test drive CRV first before giving it a go. The screen on CRV is larger and more premium feel right? Haha

Hello everyone, I have gotten my CX-5.
First proper mod - Hacked the touchscreen and now I have all speed touch screen.
Its just a 3 min job and only requires a USB drive. I'm tempted to go full AIO but tbh I already have Carplay AI Box that runs full Android...not feeling the need right now.

First impressions;
Storage space is really lacking. Legit among Myvi 2005, Peugeot 208, Honda Civic 2022 this is the car with smallest arm rest and glovebox storage and the cover does not support my elbows. What gives....?
I am discarding 70% of the junk that I have from my old car....which is technically smaller.

Mazda lent me a CX-8 2.2D high for a few days, and boy did I get used to the HUD. It is a game changer in terms of road awareness. How I wish I never learnt about 400Nm torque and HUD.

More gripes - the boot does not have any way to open it except for the button...hmmm.

CTS - The steering aid is very very mild, in the internet there is a bragging sheet about how much torque / aid you get from the lane keep. This will surely be at bottom 1%.

Positives - very steady in turns, I feel the GVC at every turn of the steering.
Gearbox feels smooth to me, I come from CVT which drones, this is back to AT feels, but still, nothing spectacular.
NVH is really step up from Civic. Like Continental step up.

Ok la, all I want is a reliable car and I hope this is it.

got the polymetal ignite liftback.. because i feel if one is getting the m3 liftback, ignite is the way to go.
