AFAIK, only 2.2D gets Helix Ultra for free.
2.0 and 2.5 need to top-up.
That’s for Bermaz SC though, not sure for dealers.

Just did 30k servicing at Bermaz Glenmarie for my 2.2D yesterday noon.
Really slow turnaround time at this SC. Appointment at 2:30 and only collected my ride at 6:30.
And I still need to come again next month to replace the lower arm bush
*
CNY incoming and I guess they have a high surge of customers. I did an ad hoc engine oil change yesterday and it took 1.5 hours.

I finally got my 2019 cx5 in just 3 weeks. ordered on new years eve. got it yesterday.

since its 2019 model does it automatically come with android auto?
*
You should double check with your SA or dealer. As far as I know should not have AA yet.

i see alot of videos out there in FB where ppeople got them installed. I wonder which shop can do that. and at what cost?
*
Android interface should cost around 2k. AIO and serial hack should cost around 400. Official Mazda AA and the USB hub should cost 1.4-1.5k

yeah, someone quoted me 2k as well. I wonder whats the difference between this 2k one and also this 400 bucks that u mentioned.

Android interface can do much more stuffs. It allows you to add on other features like P360 views and etc.

i assume the safest one is to get Mazda to do it for us instead of finding 3rd party outside shops to do this AA right?
1400 =+=
*
Safest would be the one from Mazda but it's 1.4k. The advantage is that it comes with an USB hub upgrade that allows higher power charging.

thanks duckies for the response. when u say USB hub upgrade as in the one on the armrest or all of the hubs?
where do we go to for this? bermaz straight? I can just walk in?  😅
*
The USB hub on the armrest. You can go into any SC and ask for it I guess. The stock is pretty limited. I think someone has shared the info about this many times few pages back. Put down the deposit, wait for the stock and then get it installed.

Basically they change the whole unit? Or just perform the soft upgrade using usb?
*
The USB hub. It's something like below. It's hardware + software upgrade. The hardware upgrade allows you to charge your phone better since the current/existing one has a lower ampere or voltage - I can't remember which 1.

While the software upgrade enables/installs the AA and Carplay.

Sorry to be asking this again if it has been said before.

The Shell HX7 that is used by SC has what rating?

Our CX5 petrol variant have what recommended engine oil rating?
*
Well I think you can get this info from Google easily.

https://www.shell.com/motorist/oils-lubrica...-hx7-5w-30.html

As for recommended engine oil rating, once again you can get this info easily from Google or from the manual itself.

Tried googling but got 2 type of Shell Helix HX7. 10w-40 and 5w-30. That is why I am confused.
https://www.shell.com.my/motorists/oils-lub...hx7-10w-40.html

Also googled and found recommended engine oil for Mazda CX-5 is 0w-20 or 0w-30. Again confusing as different country have different recommendation.

Thanks for the information! Terbaik!
*
The one for our petrol variant should be 5w-30. That is what the SC provided for the free services as well.

The number before W does not matter for hot climate countries like us. It's the viscosity for low temperature environment.Generally I think for us it's either 5w-30 or 5w-40.

QUOTE(abubin @ Jan 28 2019, 01:51 PM)
I know this topic has been discussed before. I am a bit slow. I just watched some videos on engine oil so I am just curious about it and remembered talks about the engine oil provided by Mazda's free service is inadequate.

So to sum it up, Mazda's free service is giving Shell Helix HX7 5w-30 semi-synthetic oil. This oil is recommended to be changed every 5000km. However, Mazda's free service only calls for every 10,000km. Which means the engine oil have to last double compared to the recommended. Therefore, some people requested for fully synthetic oil which is more suitable for 10,000km. However, Mazda is charging RM130 extra for full synthetic oil which they are actually making a lot of money from.

I have search for pricing of Shell semi-synthetic and Shell Ultra fully-synthetic price. The difference is only like RM70. I think if Mazda charge RM100, it would be a fair price.

So our choices:
1) use their semi-synthetic. Ride out 10,000km until next service.
2) use their semi-synthetic. Ride out 5,000km then change to same semi-synthetic oil outside. Cost RM80-100 depending on workshop.
3) pay RM130 for Mazda to change to fully-synthetic oil.
4) buy own fully-synthetic oil (cost RM150 for Shell Helix Ultra) and bring along to Mazda during service.

Or we all could lodge a complain to Mazda?  cry.gif
*
Yea basically that's the exact scenario that we were in. In fact, I just fork out my own money and did an engine oil change last Saturday because I feel the semi synthetic engine oil couldn't last 10k mileage until the next free services.

So in my next free service, I am gonna top up to change to fully synthetic engine oil instead.

Also, if you brought your own fully synthetic they are not gonna to give you back your free semi synthetic engine oil - so either way it's gonna be extra 130 or 150.

I don't think you can do anything about the pricing. SC is always known to over charged their customers. That is the reason why once the warranty is over we all opt to do it outside. But before that, you just have to suck it up to either the free semi synthetic or top up for fully synthetic oil.

Ok, I am clear now. Thanks for clearing it up.

So when I mentioned about complaining. I am talking about them giving 5W-30 which is not recommended for 10k km. They try to make savings by giving customers engine oil that does not meet the standard. On top of that, they do not mention about this until customers ask them. This because they want to offer "Free" maintenance for 3 years as a competitive advantage against their competitors.
*
Ah I see. You can voiced out your complaints to Bermaz.

Yup, saw that in the first page, thanks.
Looks like a so-so spec.

Was recommended by the SA to upgrade to LLumar package worth RM4600 with discount of RM1000 (SA offered)

That means got to pay RM3600 for

1) 7 years warranty tint
2) car body coating, suppose to protect the car paint I guess?javascript:add_smilie("")
3) polish/coating the interior upholstery
Anyone comes across such offer?
*
Definitely better deal outside. In fact the side and rear tint is usable...only the front tint cannot tahan. You can change or add on the front tint.

I did bring my own engine oil to SC, liqui moly molygen 5-30. And they give me my free 5-30 shell unseal back home.

Infact, MAZDA never recommand grade 40 engine oil to any skyactiv engine, NEVER! The recommanded is 30. Alternative is 20 for SKYACTIVE 2.0.

BERMAZ is scammer. Nuff said.
*
Eh Keith, they gave you back the free 5w-30 unseal shell engine oil? I asked before and they told me they are not gonna give it back to us.

Which SC did you go to? Scammer la macam ni.

Anyone install paddle shifter? It’s also another plug and play stuff (some people claimed it’s genuine Mazda part), will SC ignore this? Just curious, saw some ppl installed it.
*
Didn't install it but it is indeed plug and play. Whether SC will ignore this will be up to the SC. In fact anything extra like dash cam or pedal brake lock also can void warranty. It's up to the SC if they want to nitpicked on the matter.

Example je to show that it's up to them to want to nitpicked it or not. But most of the time they don't care about dash cam or pedal lock.

Just curious, if dash cam really can void warranty, i guess lots ppl will void their warranty.. biggrin.gif

Worst and most retarded case for example. Your cigarette port burned. U go claim warranty. They said your dash cam capalang causes out surged of voltage that burns out the port. They said this voids warranty so no free new replacement.

Tada~

anyone here installed brembo disc brakes / pads ? if yes, where do you guys buy them from ?

Most of the car owners here owns the car for about a year only so I dont think they would change the brake pads or disc so soon. Any reason why you would want to change it so soon? I wouldn't buy from the link if I were you.
