noob question: on the low specs most of the lights are non-leds. Can we somewhat change these to LEDs (rear/headlamps/DRL) etc?
*
Not sure if the ECU can handle the load. Need to check with other sifus here.

Thanks.  notworthy.gif

Where you bought it? I asked a shop at Kota Damansara, told me that they don't have ready made. Must order first.
*
Bought it from a shop from Jalan Ipoh. In fact they have a thread here.

Why ECU need extra load to handle light? That is handled by battery. Moreover, LEDs is much much lower wattage consumption than conventional bulbs.
*
Is it? Then the SA bull-shitted me when I ask if we can change the head lights to LED if we bought the lower specs version.

The PIAA I bought from the shop - the clips they had does not fit the CX-5 2018 cry.gif

I've asked few shops in KL which sells PIAA - most of them says does not fit. Ended up one shop in Kepong customized the clip with the clip for Alphard hmm.gif

Did you guys enable the Auto-Lock function? The function that car will auto lock when you walk away from it.

Sometimes when I at home, I want the car remain unlocked, is there any method?
Cause everytime I walk away, it will auto lock. Even I press unlock from key fob, after certain time, it is locked again.

From Mazda manual
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I use this method, press unlock from key fob, open and close the door. It will still lock itself again. rclxub.gif

Usually if I want to keep the door opened then I'll won't close my door tightly.

I went to have a look at the CX5 CX3 and the Mazda6

okay, joke on me...what rebate?
and what price drop, naik by RM2k++ compared to 2017, alasan, comes with full maintenance 5Y instead of 3Y

However so, looking at the gorgeous CX5, i can't figure why I would pay over RM40k over a Proton X70 which has better electronics/functions. The only thing lacking in X70, stupid rear seat so straight mcm hilux, the unknown engine condition/status/durability, same goes for the transmission...and its not a Mazda

Before anything, I can afford it, I'm just a smart consumer. RV buang longkang, i dun trade cars.
*
To see if CX-5 worth the extra 40k, you have to go test drive both. Personally I have tested drive both and I've written a short review on X70 on X70's thread.

The handling, suspension, pick up feed, gear shifting, engine power and body roll is simply different between both.

Tech wise definitely hands down on X70 as it has more features and tech stuffs than CX-5.

everything else on the handling engine , is below CX5, how far below?

If you are to reset your choices, belum ada CX5, and trying to be smart, cost saving, between the CX5 and the X70, wheres your money at?
*
If my financial condition allows, then definitely CX-5. No doubt.

If my financial is tight and I would still like a SUV, then definitely X70. Where can you get something like that for 112k OTR for executive and 130k ish OTR for premium?

Can't comment on spare part, maintenance, reliability and etc since it's yet to be seen. So future costing is unknown.

As for how far CX-5 below, mostly on the features and techs. Here are the few that's in X70 and not CX-5.

1. Sunroof - personal preference. to me it's nice to have. only premium spec has it.
2. Infotainment system - superb compared to CX-5. features rich and comes with the "Hi Proton". was told gonna have Android Auto and Car Play feature in future. unlike ours which I don't use it often cause it's so damn featureless except for radio and music player. didn't even come with Android Auto and Car Pay by default (which should have come with it since it's like a standard feature. but no no no Bermaz has to charge 1.4k for that)
3. LED/LCD screen dashboard - personal preference. very informative, colorful and nice. I always like LCD dashboard like Honda's Civic and Peugeot's 3008
4. Nappa leather - feels better. only premium spec has it.
5. Some safety features like lane departure, tyre pressure monitoring and etc (CX-5 has that but only the diesel variant which is like 40-50k more)
6. Lots of USB port - they even put the USB port near the front mirror and back windscreen for easy dash cam installations. very well thought.

So all in all, why still CX-5? The looks of it is simply stunning and this fact alone determines my choices. Not to mention the superb handling, suspension and other stuff that allows one to "zoom zoom" nicely on highways. This driving experience simply stuns you.

Speaking of tyre pressure monitor, greedy Bermaz took it out for this gen, just last week 1 of my tyre pressure slowly drop to 10 psi due to nail  bangwall.gif

To me, carplay if have is good, dont have also nvm.
The thing i would like to have are
Tyre pressure monitor
HUD- partial of the car dashboard view is blocked by my steering wheel, if have HUD, those warning will be more noticeable to me.

Nontheless, i still like this car very much. rolleyes.gif
*
I am the opposite of you. TPMS is optional to me but I need AA so much cry.gif

Oh, if your dashboard view is blocked by your steering wheel, maybe you need to adjust the steering wheel height or your seating height.

QUOTE(Not A GTR fanboy @ Jan 6 2019, 11:19 PM)
Test drive X70 executive variant today, want to point out a few things.
-Purposely drive into pot holes and got some rattling sound (not quite noticeable) from the center console part (maybe just the unit i test drove, im not sure about others)
-sound proofing is better thn crv, but cx-5 still better.
-acceleration is mehh... can feel a little bit delay due to turbo lag (maybe)
-360 camera is good and clear enough for this price segment
-UI can control a lot of things, but navigation from baidu is not as smooth as waze but still usable
-rear passenger seats are not as comfy as CX-5 (tht's jus my personal preference, some ppl may like it)
-handling.. okay lahh easy to maneuver around city for a car of this size (even the sales person say my CX-5 handles better whistling.gif)
-boot is way smaller thn cx-5...

Conclusion:
Worth to buy? Yes, but not for now, reliability still a question mark but will definitely pick X70 over the H and T brands...
*
Oh ya, forgot to mention the 360 camera. I am still a bit of skeptical using that to park the car...still trust the good ol side mirrors laugh.gif

Ya man, the acceleration is like what I mentioned - feels like CVT.

Actually X70 has a bigger boot size at 512 litres compared to CX-5 at 442 litres. However, from one look it looks X70 has smaller boot.

Could the shape of the boot have any relation to the feel of size? If there are protruding area like wheel arch blocking, then your huge luggage (for example) might not fit proper .
*
When I checked the boot that time, it doesn't have protruding area but it feels smaller compared to CX-5 hmm.gif

Do you all realize that, our favourite car is all over the road already.

When I cruise along the highway, I can see CX5 are far more than other SUVs.

Flashback before I bought this car, I am thinking to try something unique and rare, as many are recommending me CRV(+-RM150k) and Forester (+-RM127k). They said CX5 is cramped and expensive (no discount), Mazda parts are expensive and bla bla bla..

Taking the chance during the tax holiday period and grabbed a CX5. Save about RM8k and so happy to drive one. But owning "her" about 6 months and I feel like it is not that rare/unique anymore..

Other CX5 owners are pimping their ride with dynamic signals lights, big muffler tips and bigger wheels to make their car more uniquely among others. while I just keep the same old look of "her"...I like what "she" looks from the very first day.

Just some random thoughts...dont mind me.. brows.gif
*
That means you made a good choice since so many are on the road nowadays. Don't need to care about others. Just enjoy your own ride laugh.gif

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Jan 9 2019, 11:12 AM)
i see, the FC looks normal tho.. i am single, now thinking of getting sedan or suv.. dilemma lol.. all sedan is due for new gen and facelift across the brand. Have u tried sportage or tuscon before u pull the gun on cx5?

btw is there any promo for cx5?
*
Well SUV is like the trend nowadays. I've tested most SUV in this price point before jumping to CX-5. Yes, Sportage and Tuscon is in the liste laugh.gif

For promo you gotta check with the SA. Don't expect much, probably 500-1k rebate or just full tank petrol only. Mazda or Bermaz are not that keen on giving rebates and free gifts unlike Honda.

What’s your mileage when you collect your car at 1st day from show room! Mine is 47km...

Mine is 60+ km but I am fine with it. Probably when they transferred the car from somewhere else and also tested the car before handing it over.
