Initially I thought of getting xiaomi roborock as well, but I'm more worries on the warranty just in case. As Gen 2 onwards all do not have local warranty, even merchant max also given you 6 months warranty.
Might just get ecovacs during their discount on 27th. |

I got the Roborock S50. Global version. This is generation 2 with mop function. White unit with silver trimmings on the parameter. If you see S51 or S55 its basically the same unit but in a different color.
The vacuum works well, sucks up almost everything. I let it run every 2 days on a 1350 sqft home, overall cleaning was really really good. Even on corners where you thought there would be residual dust, it minimizes it to the max. Just remember to take away your floor mats cos the vacuum even with carpet mode on cant vacuum through the floor mats cos they are not fully planted on the floor. Mine can go through the entire house with a 60% charge left. As for mopping, the instruction says to be around when the mop function is being used. True enough, i had to add water to the mop pan every 400 sqft and also clean the microfibre cloth. i only mop once a week. Overall it was a very good purchase...i loaned it to my mom this week.....heck my house super dusty now.....not used to having dust all around after having this robot. my mom now also contemplating buying it ...hohoho. I got a hunch the reason they do not want to sell internationally is because they may have breached a patent. don't quote me on this but its so weird it's been a year they do not release it even in their official Mi stores

QUOTE(Avangelice @ Mar 26 2019, 12:45 PM) the cheapest option with 6 month warranty is in Shopeelazada also sells it but the seller advice me to just get the Chinese version. Cos the global version only has labels and boxes in English. You can install language packs to the vacuum so it responds or announces alerts in English. Also most of the controls for this vacuum is via app, app is in English so no need global version. |

QUOTE(MeToo @ Mar 26 2019, 11:45 AM) What is this Roborock thing? inventor is actually roborockThey selling grey market xiaomi? Or the global arm of xiaomi? They install english menu/OS instead of the chinese? (I cant read chinese...) So Xiaomi Gen3 would be Roborock S5? but they produce it for xiaomi..so called "joint invention" la, but the one they selling its roborock 1st generation so if u want to get latest model and dont mind warranty, can directly purchase from Roborock china. U can use the roborock with xiaomi app. no issue, english interface |

QUOTE(Zoopdiidoo @ Mar 26 2019, 12:48 PM) the cheapest option with 6 month warranty is in Shopee Oh...lazada also sells it but the seller advice me to just get the Chinese version. Cos the global version only has labels and boxes in English. You can install language packs to the vacuum so it responds or announces alerts in English. Also most of the controls for this vacuum is via app, app is in English so no need global version. U mean we buy directly from say Aliexpress/China... the app will be in english? Cannot be right..... |

QUOTE(alteclp @ Mar 26 2019, 03:18 PM) probably they dun even know.the gen 1 filter cannot be washed, you tap it to remove the dust....the second gen one can be washed with running water to remove the dust. normally ppl who doesn't need the mop function from gen 2 will buy the gen 1 and get extra gen 2 filters to put into their vacuum. |

QUOTE(MeToo @ Mar 26 2019, 12:59 PM) Software for the vacuum also can be updated? yup..Which means Gen1 and Gen 2 no difference except for the mop function? I been lookign thru AliExpress no Gen 3 listed hmmmm and basically not much difference, beside got mop function. and for gen 2, u can control the vacuum suction power, 3 levels. Im not sure Gen 1 has this function not Oh ya, one thing i choose roborock (other than expensive brand) is they can draw out ur room layout. If other cap ayam brand, just turning around to sweep n mop only If u plan to buy ecovacs, please buy from local reseller. Ecovacs has separate app for local unit n China unit. China unit require china app, and register via china mobile number. |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Mar 26 2019, 03:50 PM) How cheap? If you didn’t pay at least 80-90 means it’s not the non washable type or worse, fakes. The non washable ones are around 35-39 Anyway, I have gen 2 but using gen 1 filter cause I don’t like to wash them. I prefer to clean the filter by vacuuming it lol. In case you didn’t know, all parts are interchangeable between gen 1, gen 2 and gen 3 QUOTE(MeToo @ Mar 26 2019, 04:11 PM) It came in package. 2 hepa filters, 1 main brush and 4 side brushes.I couldn't recall the exact figure, but i think it was around rm150 I prefer the throw-away one. Easy for me. |

i have roborock and neato now. so far for comparison, i will include others which i owned. neato tops the chart , great mapping, great suction but high price especially for replacement parts. i tried changing the battery after 1 year plus, it cost me 1/4 the robot price. instead i opted for a full upgrade which i paid slghtly less than 1/2 the robot price. roborock comes in 2nd place. i usually place this upstairs. mapping is great and suction is fantastic. replacement parts are more difficult to get than the neato as neato is sold at almost everywhere, roborock have to buy from online only. why i place this as 2nd place is because of replacement parts availability. but however said, the price is fantastic and the parts are definitely cheaper than my neato bot. is just availability of service and parts that made this bot into my 2nd place. iroomba is 3rd on my list if i had to choose. it was a tough choice between iroomba and samsung. i bought my iroomba many years back and it performed well. mapping is definitely not its forte, but suction power is strong and replacement parts are easy to get. the only downfall for iroomba is the bloody high price i had to pay for it and the not so great suction. when compared to neato and roborock, i'd have either anyday over this 1. my iroomba is now at my parents house still working. not the 900 series i series or s series. i didnt buy those coz those are new. mine is like v3 or something. quite long ago. samsung powerbot. i borowed 1 from my sister house for a month in exchange for my neato. she loved my neato as well, and decided to purchase 1. i had to fork out 50% of the money price to her. why ? the samsung powerbot is crap at mapping. it also faces difficulty in thick carpets where the neato and roborock excels. suction is strong for samsung. is good and fantastic. but problem lies when mapping and price is not right. powerbot i think retails for RM 2xxxx but on the high side of RM 2K. neato and roborock is on the lower scale with more positives. now to tell why i had to fork out for 1/2 neato for my sister, the powerbot commited suicide. u see, my stair case is quite dark in color. so it couldnt really sense depth thus it tumbled and fell down the staircase. its a long drop. my staircase is not like other ppl where it twist then few steps more twist. mine is a looooooooong straightt up straight down staircase with 20' ceiling height. samsung powerbot didnt survive that fall. so obviously what i destroy i have to pay lor but since is my sister, i get 1/2 off, which is still painful for me. so there u have it. dun even bother with those cheapo 3in1 4in1 all china cheapo shit which cost less than 500 bucks. those have got crap mapping. they just walk and run all over the place, the batteries dun last, the suction power is weak and the mop shit is dripping and leaking all over the place. 2 of mine commited suicide before in my house leaving a huge crack on my marble floor while falling from upstairs. luckily cheap marble is easy to replace. on a side note, i have tested 1 china cheapo before but the price was around RM 800+++++ from taobao. now that 1 was reasonable with sufficient suction. mapping was still zig zaggy, battery life was better, however parts are non-replaceable as they are non existent. i liked the wet mop function of it though as the tank is actually within the bot itself rather that outside in a ring-like plastic with no control of wetness. it survived for 2 years straight before commiting suicide. my suspicion was due to the weak battery and the worn out sensing. so there u have it folks, my verdict and 2 cents. i have been using robotic mops and vacuums and window washers for quite a good solid >8 years now. summary:- u got bajet, go for neato. u less bajet go for roborock. u got no bajet go 99 speedmart buy broom and dustpan or steal from neighbour. sekian. williamtan2020 liked this post

Using xiaomi roborock.
Has both vacuum and mopping functions. Most well-spent money this year. The only downside, it can only store one map. Double storey house, go get 2 units. |

For the xiaomi roborock 2 in 1 robot, do they vacumn and mop at the same time? Or they will only mop once they finish vacuuming?

i buy cheap robot rm450. forgot the brand.
quite good leh. eventhough already vaccun the house before, it still manage to pickup a lot of dust, esp in the carpet. also u know la when ladies in house, so many hairs on floor. It can pick up quite well also. im quite amaze it can climb the carpet and uneven surface. so far i think best 450 i spend. i look at shopee/lazada got sell lots of spare parts also. it got mop function but i think not that clean la. basically it just wet the cloth at the bottom of the robot and wipe it along when vacuum. so far i'm happy with the purchase |

Lol, quite satisfied with my 1 1/2 yr mi robot vacuum , saved my hassle to sweep the floors.
just to clean the dusts from the collected box & replace the accessories when they are due. I read the 2 in one vacuum & mop doesn't live up to the user's expectation, if they are improved slowly, i may invest an unit for this as well |

QUOTE(hi54ever @ Nov 11 2019, 09:02 AM) just look for xiaomi gen2 robot vacuum in shopee/lazada Thanks. Just bought 1st gen from official mi store @ lazada. but the mop function you need to manually change the head. i personally doesn’t use it Ez to manage if things goes wrong. Plus, no need mop function, and it's cheaper than the newer one. Got name oredi for it. Robot + bibik = Ribik 😄😄 Will review once received. |

Bought a Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner on 11.11. Still learning to use it.
Do we need to assign room to the robot before we start cleaning? How does it know which is living room and which is bedroom? Another thing is, how do we prevent it from going into bathroom and balcony (other than closing the door)? ![]() |

QUOTE(idoblu @ Nov 12 2019, 09:28 PM) Your unit don’t have room division What magnetic tape are you referring to?Just let your robot automatically clean your whole house. I’m not sure if yours can save the map If it can, you can draw virtual barriers and zones to condone off areas that you don’t want it to go If don’t have this function you can buy those magnetic tape to restrict cleaning areas I google and its says 'magnetic tape is a medium for magnetic recording' |

Bought my Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner on 11.11. Today tried it for the first time.
The robot got stuck 2 times, and I need to manually intervene its operation. Which makes me wonder if I can do vacuuming when nobody is at home Yes, I can be more careful with the dangling cables and door mats. But there is always a chance something goes wrong... Mapping function is good, but can be better. It went into my bedroom, vacuum half of it, then came out. After that it went in again to finish the other half of the room. |

I bought roborock s55. If u hv multiple floor or smthg get roborock s6 but a bit expensive. S6 came with map management 3.0 (can save multiple floor and room).
Totally satisfied. I got cat. Run it every 2 days. Floor always clean. Mop the floor once a week. Best because it hv navigation sensor (LDR) and able cover all area that it can reach. Not just random movement. The only drawback (not only roborock but all robot vacuum) the cliff sensor might have problem with black carpet. It might absorb the infrared signal and the robot will think there is a cliff and stuck there. I wish xiaomi allow us to disable the sensor. Temporary solutions is i cover the sensor with aluminium and tape. Oh mine is global version with 1 year local warranty. Apps everything is english. Bought from lazada. Merchant name is DASHER. He hv shop. U can visit his store. Very friendly. He will explain how to use the robot. This post has been edited by death_nite: Nov 16 2019, 09:45 AM |

QUOTE(Zoopdiidoo @ Mar 26 2019, 12:44 PM) As for mopping, the instruction says to be around when the mop function is being used. True enough, i had to add water to the mop pan every 400 sqft and also clean the microfibre cloth. i only mop once a week. I have been hesitating to buy a robot vacuum. I once heard someone said those robots that do mapping cannot run when it is dark. But i plan to run it at night. What choices do i have?

You can also buy from physical Mi Store around KL I suggest not to buy the washable HEPA filters as they cost twice as much. Better to use a normal vacuum cleaner and vacuum the filter everyday. By doing that, I hardly have to change filter, maybe every 6 months This post has been edited by idoblu: Dec 5 2019, 09:30 AM |

Those in lazada/shopee i would say are original...they are just sourced from china or other global markets which xiaomi is selling this vacuum at. |

I read that some people have to throw away products bought from overseas because it is too much a hassle just to arrange to send back to those country for service. I think i'm going to keep my eyes on those with official local distributor.https://www.lazada.com.my/products/ecovacs-...Idh8dc&search=1 |

The latest Ecovacs Deebot T8 TrueDetect 3D Technology is impressive, no knocking anymore.. Roborock S6 MaxV camera obstacle detection is not good enough, Deebot T8 is way better than S6 MaxV.. The Deebot T8 floor mapping dToF sensor is also more advanced that S6 MaxV Lidar sensor..
Just launch in malaysia, anyone try that already? https://theaxo.com/2020/ecovacs-robotics-de...ozmo-t8-series/ This post has been edited by xingxing123: Sep 1 2020, 04:49 PM |

My Deebot N5 Power keep moving in circle. Don't know whether want to bring it to fix at the service centre anot. Since I bought it from oversea, there'll be labour charge of RM100 before anything else.

QUOTE(upcars @ Jul 9 2019, 06:20 PM) i have roborock and neato now. so far for comparison, i will include others which i owned. Nice review man. Im in the market for one now. neato tops the chart , great mapping, great suction but high price especially for replacement parts. i tried changing the battery after 1 year plus, it cost me 1/4 the robot price. instead i opted for a full upgrade which i paid slghtly less than 1/2 the robot price. roborock comes in 2nd place. i usually place this upstairs. mapping is great and suction is fantastic. replacement parts are more difficult to get than the neato as neato is sold at almost everywhere, roborock have to buy from online only. why i place this as 2nd place is because of replacement parts availability. but however said, the price is fantastic and the parts are definitely cheaper than my neato bot. is just availability of service and parts that made this bot into my 2nd place. iroomba is 3rd on my list if i had to choose. it was a tough choice between iroomba and samsung. i bought my iroomba many years back and it performed well. mapping is definitely not its forte, but suction power is strong and replacement parts are easy to get. the only downfall for iroomba is the bloody high price i had to pay for it and the not so great suction. when compared to neato and roborock, i'd have either anyday over this 1. my iroomba is now at my parents house still working. not the 900 series i series or s series. i didnt buy those coz those are new. mine is like v3 or something. quite long ago. samsung powerbot. i borowed 1 from my sister house for a month in exchange for my neato. she loved my neato as well, and decided to purchase 1. i had to fork out 50% of the money price to her. why ? the samsung powerbot is crap at mapping. it also faces difficulty in thick carpets where the neato and roborock excels. suction is strong for samsung. is good and fantastic. but problem lies when mapping and price is not right. powerbot i think retails for RM 2xxxx but on the high side of RM 2K. neato and roborock is on the lower scale with more positives. now to tell why i had to fork out for 1/2 neato for my sister, the powerbot commited suicide. u see, my stair case is quite dark in color. so it couldnt really sense depth thus it tumbled and fell down the staircase. its a long drop. my staircase is not like other ppl where it twist then few steps more twist. mine is a looooooooong straightt up straight down staircase with 20' ceiling height. samsung powerbot didnt survive that fall. so obviously what i destroy i have to pay lor but since is my sister, i get 1/2 off, which is still painful for me. so there u have it. dun even bother with those cheapo 3in1 4in1 all china cheapo shit which cost less than 500 bucks. those have got crap mapping. they just walk and run all over the place, the batteries dun last, the suction power is weak and the mop shit is dripping and leaking all over the place. 2 of mine commited suicide before in my house leaving a huge crack on my marble floor while falling from upstairs. luckily cheap marble is easy to replace. on a side note, i have tested 1 china cheapo before but the price was around RM 800+++++ from taobao. now that 1 was reasonable with sufficient suction. mapping was still zig zaggy, battery life was better, however parts are non-replaceable as they are non existent. i liked the wet mop function of it though as the tank is actually within the bot itself rather that outside in a ring-like plastic with no control of wetness. it survived for 2 years straight before commiting suicide. my suspicion was due to the weak battery and the worn out sensing. so there u have it folks, my verdict and 2 cents. i have been using robotic mops and vacuums and window washers for quite a good solid >8 years now. summary:- u got bajet, go for neato. u less bajet go for roborock. u got no bajet go 99 speedmart buy broom and dustpan or steal from neighbour. sekian. |

QUOTE(upcars @ Jul 20 2018, 09:30 AM) yes, very good. i got the 1st generation unit. so you rate mijia better than roomba?my top 3 robot vacuum picks based on my experience of owning and using them 1 - neato (most expensive, even the battery also expensive) 2 - mijia (most quiet and bajet friendly) 3 - roomba (havent fall down suicide yet) |

If the vaccum cleaner can't charged it's battery, what option we have beside repairing the machine? Any external device can charged it?

QUOTE(submergedx @ Sep 6 2020, 04:48 PM) with Mop? Many months has passed, anyone unsatisfied with their robot cleaner? I have 2 s50 and 1 xiaomi 1CI wonder what is the differnet Xiaomi 1C and Roborock S6MaxV, only sensor and mapping? How about the mop cleaning? The higher end product is better in everyway except it cannot go under sofa. 1C is slimmer so it can clean under sofa. |

Owner of a Roborock v1 here (AKA Xiaomi Mijia) for around 2 years, in that time it's cleaned the equivalent of 3 standard football pitches with only replacement of consumables:
![]() The side brush is becoming noisier, I lubricated the nylon gears with lithium grease, that reduced the noise level. I'm still amazed at how much dirt it can find from what appears to be a clean floor, I think because it goes into the out-of-sight places - under cabinets & sofas. What have I learnt from 2 years of ownership:
- keep the vacuum clean, turn the robot upside down check the main brush regularly, long hair, paper clips etc. can become wrapped around the roller. I've read of the flexible plastic gaiter between the lower and upper body being perforated, that causes loss of suction and dirt to enter into the fan. - clean the sensors, your robot may drop down the stairs if the drop is not detected. - if I could buy new furniture such as cabinets & sofas, I would make sure there was enough floor clearance for the robot to go underneath. - make sure cables, slippers, etc. are moved off the floor. |

I'm currently looking for one now as well. I saw that Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop P was the latest product available from this brand. I didn't like that it has that bulge on top for the LDS so I looked for others.
Since Viomi v3 is also part of Xiaomi, will Xiaomi MIJIA Robot Vacuum-Mop 1T (STYTJ02HZM) be better than Viomi V3? It was released in China back in 11/11/2020, I wonder when it will be for sale in Malaysia. https://china-gadgets.com/xiaomi-mijia-1t-vacuum-robot/ https://xiaomiplanets.com/Xiaomi-mijia-1t-oficialne-1/ Any recommendations by the way? upcars bro you still active? Which Neato you recommend, my house is 1300sf unit, but so many models, a bit confusing.
Is Neato still your first choice? or just xiaomi will do? I don't like Xiaomi stuff except its phone because previously I faced a lot of connection issues with them (weighing machine, Dafang Camera, China/Local etc.) damn troublesome |

Best bang for buck now is viomi. Get v3 if u can afford. If not v2 works just as good without the nose reduction. Is Neato still your first choice? or just xiaomi will do? QUOTE(vodka @ Jan 25 2021, 06:10 PM) Hizero is really good and clean. Effortless. Highly recommended. Service and after sales is very good. Been using this for at least 3 years already. None of my friends complained also. Don't compare with viomi robot la. Diff function and concept. Viomi if u charged already is ok. Change tank and it's ready to go. Hizero is for those spur of the moment when u spilled or soiled a portion of your place. |

QUOTE(Jenn77 @ Jan 25 2021, 03:25 PM) Wow very good deal! Now it's RM1899, but 2/2 also same price? The extra year warranty sure is costly. Does a robot vacuum require wifi all the time to work properly? If wifi is just for connecting to app, then it doesn't matter much. This post has been edited by lonelywolf90: Jan 27 2021, 12:53 PM |

The dirt box is centralized at base station. U can Google for it. I don't recommend it though cuz very pricey and unsure if performance. Hizero? Viomi V3? Roborock s6 MaxV? Ecovacs Deebot T8 TrueDetect 3D Technology? Semi d DS For parents. Tq Xiaomi s6 and t6 is fantastic. High end stuff. Performs well. Viomi v3 is just cheaper. Hizero is for manual mop. Very good. Thumbs up at RM 2k. |

QUOTE(sl3ge @ May 6 2021, 07:31 PM) From manual, it is not recommended to put detergent inside… coz if got any residue, it is difficult to clean it. The hole very small and you can’t really clean inside.Been using the 1c for 1 month… really satisfy with it. Probably the smartest gadget I ever buy. |

for those using xiaomi 1c, normally how much water it uses per cleaning? Mine is like 1/3 per tank for 70m2. Seems very less water used.

QUOTE(upcars @ Jul 20 2018, 04:03 AM) i have 2 units for mopping Batteries. I have purchased Roomba and Ecovacs after market batteries off Aliexpress. Funny enough, the Aliexpress battery will vacuum almost 2 hours vs original's 1 hour and far cheaper.1 neebot and 1 everybo https://www.corvan.com.my/everybot neebot no longer in production liao. but is good. i bought via taobao 4 years ago. the thing i like about neebot is, it uses samsung galaxy s3 batteries. so its easily available. |

QUOTE(sl3ge @ May 6 2021, 07:31 PM) using s50. not recommended. i tried. after a while, the sponge outlet from the tank to the cloth will be clogged and you will need to change it. not sure why.also not good to let it soak overnight. better take out the water once done vacuum. now I spray disinfect on the cloth itself. that one no clog so far. plus. dettol makes the floor sticky too. YesBasically, robot vacuum can only cover about 95% of the floors. BUT you need to do preparation before running it.. 1. Pickup those small foreign objects (eraser, poop, tissue, book, paper, wire, cable) 2. Prep your curtains, tie or lift it, IF you want to clean the curtain area. 3. Move your chair to ease robot navigation between legs. If you have ladies at home, the hair collected might be a lot and need to clean up after every cleaning session. *I'm using roborock S5 for 2 years. **Self-Cleaning Robot Mop & Vacuum is a different story... and the price is much more expensive.
