 How to buy cheap ASUS RT-AC68U router, come have a look

Based on the hints given by Taobao, i am guessing the price for this router on 11.11 will be RMB799 or RMB749.

I don't really need Merlin nor do I know what is the extra features it has. It just that the seller wrote in this thread that saying GT-AC5300 can flash with Merlin. It makes me doubt about his credibility since his price is the cheapest among others. Any idea how is the performance of this GT-AC5300? I can't seem to find some local review about this unit, only RT-AC5300 is available....

From the specs, this router is one of the top end i have done research on it. Even the VPN is superior to all others due to the processor. And it can do 1 normal internet and 1 vpn internet at the same time.

Best is it can do 1,000Gbps on the 2.4GHz network so that those that using 1Gbps on TIME dont even need to just use the short 5ghz range. (Now if you all get this router, the limitation will be your receiving device)

I remember i search around and found got one seller in Shopee is having a good price for it. Maybe you all can find search around.

Guys, just to clarify one thing, all the Asus routers that we buy from taobao, can support unifiTV right? Model like RT-AC86U, RT-AC5300 and GT-AC5300...

Yes. All ASUS routers uses global firmware so they already have UniFi profile configured into the firmware

When you use it, you will notice that there are a lot of restriction. Like you can only buy certain item, you must combine up to certain value etc.

Just a quick guess, I think is the colour code for that router. Cause I saw this "BUCEROS" under the colour code there...

Yes. Because with UniFi the telephone is connected to the BTU, not to the router

PS: Maxis is a different animal
