Since the Lazada seller is same as Asus Official Tmall seller, did you manage to ask about the warranty & RMA? As for Asus Official TMall seller, they offer 3 years warranty with 1st year 1 to 1 exchange. Only need to send it back to China for the claim.

Is this mod applicable to RT-AC86U only? Or all Asus router from China? Thinking of getting this RT-AC86U or the GT-AC-5300.

Everyday 8pm, they will sell 50 and 100 RMB worth of coupon for 10 RMB, but only limited to certain items only, unfortunately ac86u is not on the list of items...

Are you saying that i change the region to Asia on any china set Asus router, it will still automatically switch back to China?

Or you are just referring to the hack/mod that you posted few page back?

If the pricing for GT-AC5300 do REDUCE to RMB 1xxx, it is really a BARGAIN deal~ Any idea whether such price will have limited quantity or applicable on the whole 11.11 sales day?

I'm contacting the Asus Official Tmall CS, they told me the price is not confirmed at RMB 1xxx or is RMB 2xxx.

Few days ago, the GT-AC5300 was price at RMB 2199. And it suddenly changed back to RMB 2699.

I only worry that if purchase during 11.11, the delivery will take much more longer time~


This seller cannot ship directly to MY, so if I use a forwarder to ship back my purchase during 11.11, do you think it will be much faster as compare to direct shipping method by taobao?

Since routers are considering as sensitive items, those direct shipping & 集运 services offer by taobao, are they assure us the item won't hold by MY custom?

If using forwarder, the agent say very very minimal chances of holding back by MY custom. RMB 22/kg, add RMB 40 for the 1st 5kg of sensitive items. So for GT-AC5300, it needs around RMB 44 + 40 = RMB 88 to ship back to MY....

P/S : Btw, how did you manage to get the 集运 option in Official Asus Tmall page? Because if I select my shipping destination to Malaysia, it automatically say the item is not available...

And the 集运 offer by taobao, is it like all the items will be shipped to a warehouse, then it will be pack into 1 single package and ship back to MY? This service is handle by 菜鸟?

I think my agent is just 集运. Cause they only handle all my items, when it arrive at their warehouse, they just gather all the items and ship it back to Malaysia for me. If 代购, is those that help you from purchasing items and ship it back to Malaysia, right?

I tried with other Asus router seller from taobao whereby they offer direct shipping back to Malaysia. I am charge from RMB92++ for the shipping fee. As refer to taobao FAQ, direct shipping is RMB 26/kg, and the router weight about 2kg, so shipping fee itself is RMB 52 only. Does this means that the taobao direct shipping is charging the RMB 40 extra due to router is sensitive item, just like other forwarder did?

Initially I'm eyeing on AC86U only. But the previous offer price for GT-AC5300, RMB 2199 + RMB 84 for shipping = RM 1400+- (processing fee waived for 1st time buying using TB lite app), makes me think again...

Now that they are indicating that 11.11, the price will be RM 1??6 for GT-AC5300, I wonder how low will they offer for it??? RMB 1996, 1886, 1776, 1666 or lower tongue.gif

Last year RMB 1999 for GT-AC5300 or RT-AC5300? I ask the Official Asus Tmall, if buy on 11.11, item will be dispatch out on of before 20.11. If this year pricing for GT-AC5300 is RMB 1886, so is about RMB 300++ saving (RMB 400++ saving if manage to get the RMB 100 coupon), but have to wait longer before the item arrive in Malaysia~

I engage their service 1 time only. But overall satisfied with their services.

There is a 1st time processing fee / service charge waiver if we pay by using Taobao Lite app. But will this waiver still remain if I make a purchase with my taobao account by paying from website instead of hp app?

I'm planning to try my luck for the RMB 100 coupon, for the 11.11 router purchase. Worry the waiver from APP will be gone or only apply for 1st time payment for each account, regardless whether make payment through website or app~

And pretty strange when I try just now, the Official Asus Tmall did provide direct shipping if I make payment from Taobao Lite app, but when I try again at website, I couldn't even add it into my shopping cart...

That was my 1st time dealing with them. Previously I engage services from LYN taobao agent. Whereby I show them the link of items I wish to buy, then they will calculate the price in MYR and I pay to them. Once all items arrive at their warehouse, will measure for the weight and again I will pay the agent for the shipping fee.

But now I didn't use agent to buy since taobao can accept local bank / CC payment directly to them, unlike those old days~

Mine is charge RMB40 for 1st 5kg. If calculate with exchange rate of 0.606107(based on taobao conversion rate), is about RM24 for 1st 5kg. As long as my shipment is not more than 5kg, it will be only RM24. Of course if my item is only 1kg, then it is more expensive.

As for aepost2u, if I didn't read it wrongly, they are charging RM 18 per KG, so for my GT-AC5300, the weight is about 2kg, so it will become RM36 for the sensitive item charges...


Do correct me if I'm wrong~

Just to clarify, did the seller ship it directly back to Malaysia? Or the seller ship it to one of the forwarder warehouse(engaged by yourself), then the forwarder ship it back to Malaysia for you?

1.8KG, based on the weight stated on the packaging. I'm more concern that this forwarder said that the chances of holding by MY custom is minimal, plus their previous record is good.

Anyway, still have some time to finalize my decision before 11.11....

Current GT-AC5300 pricing, which is RMB2699. Can preorder the RT-AX88U ady... tongue.gif

Mine is different scenario.

All the while I didn't put my own MY address inside taobao account. Until the Official Asus Tmall store changed their price for GT-AC5300, I started to look for other seller with cheaper price, and they do provide direct shipping. So I enter my own address and save it. Eventually I still didn't order from that seller cause I wanted to survey price at LYP 1st and see how much is the RRP in MY 1st.

Then today I play around with my Taobao Lite app and found out that from there, I can actually have a direct shipping option from the Official Asus Tmall store. But I'm still curious as website show the other way round. So I chat with their CS and they confirm with me that they don't do direct shipping outside of China.

But maybe like junclj say, seller don't know about the shipment part. So is better to clarify with "cainiao" directly before making any payment to avoid future troubles. Especially if intended to buy a 11.11, super peak season....
