What I think is that, perhaps your Taobao seller has already converted it for you. Anyway, that's good.

Not sure why you can't reach 800Mbps. According to this list, you should be able to get at least 500Mbps.

I'd check with a different PC or LAN cable to see if the router is the problematic one.

The thing is when ur download speed goes very high, there are more data being transfer , CPU needs to process them. Old CPU wont have enough processing power to process them same goes to HDD , ur HDD may not cope fast enough to write data to the drive

biggrin.gif rclxms.gif cannot expect wifi can reach 400mbps and above. Have your change to unifi-business in the iptv settings? then do speedtest in http://speedtest.tm.com.my with firefox only.

TP-Link Archer T9UH chipset is Realtek RTL8814AU on usb 3.0 supposed to be max.1300Mbps on 5GHz band.
200-250Mbps is way too low.

I am surprised as my Realtek RTL8811AU on USB 2.0 china-made performed faster at 250-270Mbps.

Was on the verge of buying an AC86U for 1k+ to replace my old AC55UHP when I stumbled upon this thread and am very grateful for all the useful information here that is going to save me some bucks.

Just created a taobao account and bought one for 965.11 rmb including direct delivery and freight insurance IIRC. Not sure if that is considered cheap for “taobao standards” but considering I was going to shell out 1k+ for this, massive win for me regardless 😁

Depend on how you compare. RMB965 as compare to best offer RMB799 exclude shipment fee from time to time.

GG. Thanks for the info.

I got this for 889 rmb excluding shipping and the freight insurance.

Will be keeping an eye out for offers like that from now on. I’m still interested in getting one more later down the road for AiMesh.

Yes this RMB889 is the cheapest now. Difference by around RMB100. Still worth since next offer sure is after CNY.

Just asking, can I use AiMesh feature between T-Mobile AC-1900 merlin and RT-AC86U stock firmware?

merlin custom firmware do not support aimesh because don't have this feature in the asuswrt merlin. However, there have a Chinese unofficial firmware with the name Koolshare is able to support aimesh. The problem is this is not a fully custom firmware, they just simply to modify from the official asus firmware.

I do not recommend to flash to Koolshare because this Chinese firmware is only exclusive for China user, especially for those who need to install VPN add-on into their Asus router. As we know that China is very strict on blocking websites such as google.com, youtube.com, facebook.com and instagram.

Any reasons to ditch the AC55UHP as I found that it is still very fast. Many reported the AC86U can reach 300Mbps on wireless but my AC55UHP can do around 250-270Mbps on ac with usb2.0 dongle. The difference of 30-50Mbps is not much. On LAN, AC55UHP can do the max. at around 903Mbps on a 1Gbps Fibre line.
