Last time I used RT-AC68U I was on UniFi 100Mb/s
I can get 100Mb/s just fine on 5GHz
Even some devices where their 2.4GHz WLAN receivers can support 150Mb/s & 300Mb/s I can still get 100Mb/s in SpeedTest
Although I do set the 2.4GHz channel bandwidth to 40MHz, not 20MHz
And I set the 5GHz channel bandwidth to 80MHz

oh well yeah 100mbps isn’t a problem , 2.4 GHz was just tweaked to 40Mhz , and the top speed was around 100mbps
5GHZ was tweaked to 80mhz already , and yeah max dl speed is around 300-330mbps only and 110up on my 7+
Can’t really test LAN cable cuz rn the only laptop I could test is a 2012 Mac , and it gives me around 300mbps only.

Was seriously wondering whether it’s the BTU problem (HG8240W)? Cuz I saw complaints about this BTU ?

depends on devices and distance away from the router.

my Oneplus 6 can get 400mbps+ if very near the router.

Usually around 200 to 300mbps

That's just a lazy man's excuse
I'm Malay and I neither read nor speak Chinese but I can buy from Taobao easily without any guidance

Use Google Chrome. It's built-in translator makes it easy to buy from Taobao

RT-AC68U is able to reach 470mbps~480mbps if this router is changed to Aimesh or AP mode. So you should proceed to purchase a new RT-AC86U because this router has PC grade 1.8GHz dual core processor. This router processor can performs better to help speed up your RT-AC68U in (LAN) aimesh mode to 400~500mbps in wifi speed.

no more offer from tmall now. You have to buy from other sellers or second hand.

It does not
AC86U runs cooler than AC68U

Yes, possible but I don't have 3x3 mobile device to test. iPhone XS Max has 802.11ac Wi-Fi with 2x2 MIMO only. 4x4 for LTE.

Actually I am in the same boat...more like I am not confident to buy from China in case of problems and warranty issues.

So am scouting for a Malaysian unit with a price that I am willing to pay.
