Guys,

I am currently using Zipp 404 wheelset but thinking I need a low profile wheelset for climbing route such as fraser hill, etc. I never been there yet but with 58mm profile, it will be a lot harder in such route.

I currently eying on Fulcrum Racing Zero (around RM3000 or less) and Roval CLX32 (about RM8-9k) but not sure if Roval worth the extra money.

Extra handsome, buy. I wouldn't buy low profile carbon though, higher chance of overheating on long steep downhills. High profile carbon more material won't get so hot.

But if you wanna find excuse for shopping, just get whatever. Roval 50 around 1.4kg, around fr0 weight, sell the 404 and just use the 50 for everything, extra money buy smart trainer and 1 year subscription to zwift or trainerroad

kalau kaya then just buy wat u think will make u go faster or climb faster.
but it doesnt mean with expensive wheelset then u can go faster tho, there r people with normal stock wheelset, alu frame and shimano tiagra but cycle way faster than cyclist with full carbon bike.

Hey

So where did you go after that? Also had a fitting done with him, I was fine being low on a tri bike but he raised the handles and adjusted the seat and cleats.

It's been few months since, but still getting a sore ass after 120k and by 180 it can be quite a torture.

Hi there, haven't gone to any bike fitters. No money... Lol
Now just trial and error using some recommendation from veloharmony YouTube, and Steve hoggs bike fitting post.
Quite useful info from Steve hoggs.
Please share your bike fit review if u are going to any. Tq

Wheelset makes differences in cycling, but your choice seems like different/oppose to the idea as 404 is a good wheelset

Hmmm. Do you mean 404 is all rounder wheelset? 58mm profile seem to be too high profile for hilly route like Perez, Bukit Hantu, GS, Fraser etc. No?

Iโ€™m enjoying cycling too much at the moment. Past month has been great where I cycling about 30km everyday on trainer, did my first century ride and lose about 10kg in Sept. So it drives me crazy. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Dont think theres any issue climbing with higher profile/heavier wheelset. I used 58 on reynolds aero to climb GS before and there's no issue going up the only problem I hav is descending as it gets more twitchy especially strong crosswind. But that probably coz I got no bola to go down also. Haha!

Anyway, i'd personally would skip roval as it looks plain as any other cheaper taiwan wheel except it comes with expensive ceramicspeed which drives the cost exorbitantly. So now I use zonda if I were to go up and down fraser and such. Don't even have to be scared of delaminating carbon if overly brakes.

You might want to check out this video. Hill climb on Zipp 808. Aero surprisingly impacts for uphill as well. I would have thought having a lighter wheelset for climbing is preferable.
