Hi!

Disappointment. The kitchen cabinet Company informed late last night that the installation will be delayed to next week.

Well at least the wall tiles are done.

Dont be dissapointed. Slow n easy is good. My cabinets delivered yesterday. Installation to begin monday. Now stuck on deciding on curtains or blinds...

I am actually disappointed with the lack of communication with the company and of course the delay now is costing me money. To be expected but unexpected. Ohhhh the joy of renovation 😂

Which reminds me of my own blinds and curtains. Some of the areas can be covered using existing curtains but will need to install rods. Not ambitious to do it on my own so most probably get the curtain shop to do it.

Hi!

Not much to share as the progress came to a grinding halt due to problem with my cabinet contractor. Apparently the salesperson left the company so I’m assigned to a new lady that needs to check the design/order again to make sure everything is alright. So it’s a delay from 19th to 30th. There goes my plan to move in early! I’m wondering whether I could claim compensation.

On another note, I signed up with one cabinet company at expo and paid RM1k deposit to lock in prices. I initially plan to get them to do all my wardrobe n shoe cabinet. But they have now quoted me a higher price than what was calculated at the expo. So yeah, beware of this kind of problem also if sign up at expo. Now I just want to either claim back the deposit, or just get them to do one cabinet at cost of RM1k to set off my deposit.

I have finalized the plaster ceiling and lightings. I’m total I installed:

28 eyeballs (living, dining, kitchen, bedroom and family area)
48 downlight (all area including toilet)
9 tracklights
T5 for Lbox and few curtain pelmets
2 chandelier for stair area and dining
3 pendant lights for island counter
8 plug points
10 fans
Plaster ceiling the whole of ground floor and some areas of upstairs (the renovated areas)
The total charge of around rm14k inclusive of repainting.

Sharing some pictures of the final look.

My kitchen cabinets n wardrobe at up. Disappointed as the installer I got ....he was good but too dirty. N he screwed up my hood as he let the plaster ceiling drop into the blower n contaminate it. He needs to clean it up else I will need to do something.

The hardest part of all this is the fact that I’m not there to oversee the installation. My partner is overseeing it for now. It is expected to take 4 days. I’m just praying that everything goes ok. I’m also OCD with regards to level, alignment and yadda yadda.. so I guess it’s good also I’m not there haha.. less stress for me!
