Contractor J: Aluminium Sliding Door

Signed up at expo I think end of August (before end of tax holiday). Price quoted at rm32 per square feet, cheapest among three other contractor I looked at. Measuring, and full payment before installation. Today they came and install, quite fast and efficient. 9/10 stars!

Mind to share the company doing this sliding door? I will like to do something like that to separate my wet kitchen from the rest of interior. However, mine will be just a single sliding door since I only have like approximately 3.5' entrance. And by the way, I also bought the Fotile hood and hob but since my reno hasn't started yet, I haven't look into the details of it. So just need to know why the need to reduce the ducting from 7" to 6"? Is 6" the standard size or is it the maximum size used in Malaysia?

Hi cdspins, it’s explained in post #69 but I copy here for you to see:

Laminated skylight : 15 ft X 9 ft laminated glass thickness 12.38mm, with aluminium louvers (half) and suspended with steel frame (no beam design). COST RM8,100
Waiting for them to call for site visit.

One picture for you 😬

Hi tcsiang- pls PM me for contact for the sliding door

For the fotile hood, the ducting size is 7 inches. The normal ducting size is from 4inch-6inch. So there is a problem to get ducting for 7 inch. The length of required ducting for me was around 15 feet when i only have around 12 feet of ducting.

Yes true. But in my case it was quite far to go to Kepong and his shop was out of stock for 7 inch ducting. So what i did was to find a 6 inch ducting and connected it to the 7 inch ducting i had that comes with the hood. Good luck!

Yeah, in total I have 5 sofas and 3 wing chairs and they are put into good use. Hosted a house warming recently and all sofas were occupied haha.

The carpet was bought years ago from Jakel.
