Yes, it covers my bedroom sliding door /balcony around 7 feet out. I wanted the area so that i could walk out to balcony freely from the room, or let the sliding door open with privacy wo (coz my room facing playground). Small area to do put up clothes drying rack (undies and the likes), can also do some yoga/ exercise area or just sunbathing area hehehe

I changed the louvers from 45 degrees angle to 68 degrees so that it would be more privacy for me

Hi!
Update for kitchen.

Purchased Fotile hood and hob and provide the dimensions to the kitchen cabinet people.
Forgotten about preparing the ducting before the plaster ceiling work started so started to scramble dinding who can do it.

It was difficult. I was quoted from Rm300 to rm500 for ducting installation because it involves hacking of two walls. Luckily managed to ask a nearby contractor to do it with his indo boys- and asked them to fix the ducting as well.

The fotile hood comes with 7 inch ducting and due to the extra length required, the progress was slow as need to Find 6 inch connector (pricey and difficult to find).
Ace hardware sells 6 inch ducting for over Rm80 and 6 inch pvc pipe only sold one piece of 20 feet. While Fotile 7 inch ducting is prices around Rm130 and had to order etc etc (too late). Finally found a hardware that sold 6 inch ducting for rm30 (thats rm50 cheaper!).

So cut a part of the 7 inch ducting and insert the 6 inch ducting in between. Secured with aluminium tape. DIY with partner. Finally done yesterday.

Now the plaster guys can just make a hole for the ducting to come out right above the hood.

Hi!

So my plaster ceiling is all done.
Wall tile expected to be installed before Wednesday
Painting of feature wall and dining area before Wednesday
Kitchen cabinet is being installed on Friday.

My question is- when do I schedule cleaning of the house post renovation? Before or after kitchen cabinet/wardrobe installation?

Hope to get some feedback from readers here.
Thanks!

I would suggest before cabinets. Otherwise cabinet/wardrobe will be installed on top of all the dust and dirt.

After installation then do another quick clean before all the furnitures come in

Thank you for suggestion. Decided to clean lightly first and will do the deep cleaning after the kitchen and wardrobe are fixed! Thanks for feedback

Hi!

A little update. Finally the alarm installation for the house is DONE! Phewww such drama.

The company really not professional. Communication was bad and rescheduling so many times, the installer came late and didn’t even apologized. I guess that is the price of cheap so shouldn’t complaint much. But will not recommend.

Using Paradox Sp6000, the demo was not helpful. Will have to read up and look at YouTube’s for better explanation of the system. Well, moving on.

Engaged Contractor J for painting and wall tile. Still waiting for it to be done, latest by Thursday coz the kitchen cabinet are coming in on Friday. Chaiyokk!

Sonerin,

Yes I chose paradox due to the good reviews. As a user yourself, may I know if you are able to arm the system if on of the zone is not secured ( red button on the panel)? Say I left one window open, can I still arm the system or would it be rejected?

Thanks in advance for feedback

Definitely installer problem.
I need to pay the remaining balance now but I thot of writing a complaint to them so they could improve. But then I worry if anything wrong with the system they would ignore me if I complaint.

Haihhh so much trouble, want to complaint also scared haha

Oh ok. So say I want to leave my bedroom window open, I can still arm the system so that if other entrance/window opened, it will trigger the alarm, right?

That’s fine then. Installer didn’t explain correctly.. hmmm

Yes that is correct you can arm while the window is open. You need to be aware that the window that is open will also trigger the alarm while it is open.
The rest of the zones will work as normal.

Sonerin, now I understand what you mean. So basically if I arm the alarm with one of the windows open, the alarm will trigger.
But in my case (yesterday), the alarm can be armed and no trigger. Called the installer again and he came to rectify.

So basically now, all windows/doors (except main door) must be closed before armed. If one of windows not closed, the panel will light up indicating the zone and would not be able to arm. Much better configuration imho.
Also learned about bypass and sleep function.

Thanks!

Hi!

Disappointment. The kitchen cabinet Company informed late last night that the installation will be delayed to next week.

Well at least the wall tiles are done.
