The cvt on the other hand... I think about 3-4yrs ago? Came out in the City after mine.

Grand Livina isn't too bad... it sold quite a number of units of those 10yrs... can't go wrong unless you're particular about it's engine and 4AT and lack of creature comforts(etc... leather chairs). The Grand Livina is due for a new model soon and I suggest those looking that way, wait for it next year. Else... BR-V!!!

2nd that. 4AT is just very jurassic park already. When you're running 110 - 120km/h, do you want your RPM at 2k+ or 3k+? haha... easily settled.

I am in the same boat but need to make decision ASAP cos my current car insurance due first week of Sept.  Am looking at paying about RM800-900 per month.

I really like the BRV look but I don't need the 7 seater.  Even if I keep the last row seat folded permanently it doesn't fold flat which is a problem since I a bit OCD 

Was initially going for Livina X-gear which has a big promo currently because clearing stock.  Apparently, Nissan going to discontinue the X-gear which worries me.  What if spare parts not available since is a discontinued model?  SA told me X-gear uses same engine as Grand Livina so spare parts not a problem.  But I still worried. 

So yesterday night my brain exercise very hard and decided to just go get a Vios this week.  Hopefully can get by first week of Sept. Wish me luck!

Really depends on your needs.i had the same dillema as yours.i could have gone sedan or even the Nissan Serena hybrid.but end up brv due to the fact i needed the 7 seater space maybe few times a year only.so to me brv was a good balance between space usage,price and quality.i can tell you my former Toyota vios had the engine block changed completely before.again really depends on your needs.

where the ECM cable located ?
if you need 7 seater for adults then brv will let you down..
since you can afford Nissan Serena ...you should go for it ...space much much comfortable compare brv ..
should not wish you good luck ..caused here is brv gang...haha..

but still wish you can get car next week b4 sst Jalan....

Errr I don't actually have a real reason to exclude the city but then the city was never a consideration for me.  I honestly don't have a concrete reason.  Either there are too many city on the road or something else is bothering me.

What I really wanted was what they called a crossover vehicle which the x-gear and brv is but it was not meant to be. I also really like the HRV but out of my league

It's in your engine bay... near the battery. I've just googled ECM and it's another name for ECU.

new car smell really cant tahan the smell ....very uncomfortable ...park at house will wind down Windows a bit let air circular new smell out..
different brand have their own word ?

lol.. i purposely didn't put the perfume... to smell the new car smell few days more...

Well... if you could wait... there shud be few coming next year... Nissan has the rebadged Mitsu Xpander, Toyota/Daihatsu with the Rush/Terios and Perodua with the so called new Kembara?
