In DOW heroes are merely support roles for the army. They alone cant win an army.
Other RTS heroes are more for deco as to show that character involve in the battle. Tanya well.. just a nice way to call a Commando. However in WC3.. Heroes once they are level 7-10 some heroes can pratically take on an army of their own. Well looking at SC 2 its good to see that its not like WC3. I cant stop to think SC2 is gonna be a another click fest game. |

Actually, talk about hero system, C&C3 is also another one. They don't call it hero but simply "Elite unit", which the entire warfare is not solely depends on him/her/it. And they serve well as support unit (except Nod's one).
So I don't mind SC2 have hero unit, and I believe blizzard can handle it! Added on May 20, 2007, 1:09 pmOmg the mothership is ... too much already !!! I think if they wants to improve on the hero system. They should make hero abilities based mostly on passive skills. Aura and such that will improve the army and level up enhances the passive skills effect, nothing more. Giving too much active skills that are overpowering to heroes turns it to into an RPG game. As long as they make it hard to fight Hero to Hero. We'll see less kind of retarded RPG in RTS like SC2. Hero unit in SC aren't entirely bad though. Just look at DoW and C&C3 hero unit (pureply support unit). That's what thye need to do in order to avoid WC3 overwhelming hero units.
