They are going to release beta version from time to time.. As for demo, why would they want to release a demo before the game release? They can even opted to release the demo few weeks AFTER the full game release just like what other current developers did.. So, just keep our finger crossed and hopefully it will be released on time for winter holidays..

I think some people don't know that in Korea, Starcraft is losing its popularity. They still have strong following but the viewership rating is dropping since 2007.
Unlike the old days where people go to watch live game because of the "game". These days all you see are fangirls who came to watch their fav player. In the old days you have BoxeR, NaDa, Gorilla, and sAviOr. Nowadays anyone can beat top progamers on televised match. The days of Bonjwa is over.
In any sports, you need idols to sustain popularity. What happened in Korea is, older generation stop watching the game simply because their heroes of the old cannot win a game. Even i myself stop watching Starleague when my fav. player got knocked out.
Koreans follow Starcraft not because of culture or blind loyalty. The game has huge following because its entertaining to watch. The progamers become icons. TV station took advantage of this and broadcast game live. Even SBS used to have their own Starcraft league in the past. Imagine if SBS still have their own league today. If MBC and SBS have their own league, KBS surely will follow. My hope is when SC2 come out, these 2 tv station(KBS, SBS) will take this opportunity to establish their own SC2 league.
As a kid, even if they don't have PC at home, watching gamers play live on TV will inspire them. The evidence is clear when you see SC progamers in Korea, only like 20% of them are from Seoul, the rest of them come from other cities in Korea. Some of them come from poor family. In Malaysia most people that attend WCG came from middle class family at least, or they live in Klang Valley.
I believe given strong support from community and media in Korea, SC2 also will gain success. The problem is, can they sustain the popularity for a long time like they did with Starcraft. Warcraft 3 only lasted for 3 years in Korea. For ignorance general public, its easy for them to generalize that WC3 fails because Koreans are crazy about Starcraft. But if you do some research, the truth is WC3 failed because of its own flaws. Starcraft 2 is the globalization of Starcraft. There will be influx of foreigner going to Korea to play in their established leagues and teams. These new generation and icons will renew the fading popularity of Starcraft.
SC2 are meant to be played until 2020, why b**** about the delay? Look at other RTS, how long did they last? How long before the developer stop patching their game? There will be many RTS that will come out after Starcraft 2, but most of them will die even before Starcraft 2 starts losing its popularity.

I do agree with RtP|DEV.
Good games take time to come out. They need lots of time to develop and polish it to perfection.
Stop b****ing about the game take so long to release. There are still shit load of stuff to fix.

Yeap, really concrete elaboration from him. good games are meant to last for years. So, I don't see any problems about delaying the game.

QUOTE(tango25 @ Mar 23 2009, 05:05 PM) Marketing part.. they will release it right about december. It's the best time to buy gifts for people and it will be one of the best xmas gift Unless you work for them. I aint gonna believe in this. Almost every RTS player is waiting for this. When it's release, everyone's gonna get it,regardless of being christmas or what. I,for one, gonna dump everything beside for the SC2 when it release.
