Considering q60a and Sony A80J. Budget 3k+ for 55inch. Which one is better for TV box streaming at living hall? No gaming.
My current LCD is 10yrs Samsung la40c and still going strong.

A80J ... is the Sony OLED .

If you mean X80J , I would pick that over Q60A .

Samsung is getting more stingy year by year , over their TV specs .
While other brands are adding more features , they are doing the exact opposite - removing them .

Tizen - Samsung's TV OS doesn't get updates often either .

In general , there is very little to no reason to buy a Samsung entry level / mid range TVs this year .

Yes , that bad .

The Q6 series have never been a good value for money .
The " Q " stands for Quantum Dots , which serves the purpose in enhancing Color performance , Color Volume in particular .

But when your TV is so dim , it is going to have weak HDR and color volume performance anyway . Might as well save the money and get the X80 instead .

Hi guys was aiming for the TU8000 but it was out of stock and replaced by AU8000 which is also out of stock in the place where I live.

I settled down for a 70in TU7000 for rm4.3k, which then i found out the 65incher is rm1k cheaper, kind of regret it now sad.gif

Sometimes over researching can result into making wrong decisions.

"CRYSTAL UHD " is what Samsung is calling their LCD TVs powered by the " Crystal processors " .

Somehow , they have decided to stop calling it " CRYSTAL UHD " in the 2021 models despite AU7000 too is powered by the same " Crystal processors " .

Honestly , they are all marketing terms and don't yield actual benefits in real life viewing experience .

Well , the Mini-LED performs really well in a way it is much better than typical LCD and IPS monitors .

But on the standard of being a Samsung's 4k flagship , especially if you have seen the previous Q90R   , they have much less blooming and deeper black than the QN90A .
Q90R can probably fool me as an OLED in a dimly lit room [not pitch black].

Hi,
Can please advise on these tv and which one will be better value since the price difference is not much. I've read that you mentioned both of these samsung is using IPS panel, so is it the Sony will be a better buy?
1) Sony X90J 65 rm6599
2) Samsung Q80A 65 rm6499
3) Samsung QN85A rm7799

Q80A is more or less the IPS Version of X90J , which means I can't find a reason not to go for the Sony's X90J instead .

QN85A is IPS TV with Mini-LED but it's not up to the standard of QN90A .
It is however , a really bright TV so if you are planning to watch the TV during the daylight with large windows in the room , it maybe a worthy purchase .

Other than those situation , save yourself money with X90J instead.

I ter-reset my Samsung TV and now can't use the smart function like apps etc coz unable to accept terms and condition.

It stated 'Model ID and version are not valid. Please contact the Samsung service centre. (Error code: 2014506-1)'

Anyone experience this issue and how do I get around it?

Any recommendations on whether to get Samsung AU9000 65 inches or Sony X85J 85 inches? I like Samsung tv because of the Q Symphony function as I have Samsung soundbar as well but read that Sony X85J is a better tv overall for picture quality and it has Google TV and support Dolby Vision. Please help me give some feedback on your experience using Samsung TV or the Q Symphony function...is it worth it just for Q Symphony and the Space Fit calibration for the Samsung soundbar or should I got for the Sony X85J tv instead?
