So means NU8000 >> Q7F ?
even one is QLED?
Without going into too much details , Samsung's 2017 QLED models are overpriced and underperforming TVs ( As much as I like their designs and screen coating a lot )
It performs worse than the 2016 's KS series in most category , which is absurd .
The QLED isn't exactly a new type of display technology like OLED .
Samsung's PR team decides to coin the term with their LED LCD TVs which has quantum dots , quite typical for the TV marketing campaigns thesedays.
And to understand what exactly does the QLED TV do better than other TVs , it is the color volumes .
This means Q7F can show more colors across different brightness levels , saturated colors even in very bright scenes , which many others struggle with .
However this is severely hindered by Q7F's poor brightness ratings and poor local dimming system.
Here is the thing , for many of mid-range HDR TVs brightness remain the most consistent factor contributing to HDR performance .
Primarily because the TV in these range doesn't has very good control of their backlights . They need that extra brightness on the screen in order to delivery a more punchy HDR effects. Q7f and NU8000 both fall into this category but since the NU8000 is cheaper , brighter in both HDR / SDR , lower Input Latency, picking the NU8000 just seems like a no brainer .
Since NU8000 is a Samsung model , it has some of the new features such as VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) which can be nice for gamers.
