thinking of changing, saw lots of shop letting go the older stock of Q7 series with huge discount, are they worth it?
or should I stick with the latest NU series?

QUOTE(Convael @ Aug 3 2018, 11:24 AM) Without going into too much details , Samsung's 2017 QLED models are overpriced and underperforming TVs ( As much as I like their designs and screen coating a lot ) thanks for the detailed explanation, won't be going for the Q7F then, since most of it are display units with dunno how many hours burned into it already It performs worse than the 2016 's KS series in most category , which is absurd . The QLED isn't exactly a new type of display technology like OLED . Samsung's PR team decides to coin the term with their LED LCD TVs which has quantum dots , quite typical for the TV marketing campaigns thesedays. And to understand what exactly does the QLED TV do better than other TVs , it is the color volumes . This means Q7F can show more colors across different brightness levels , saturated colors even in very bright scenes , which many others struggle with . However this is severely hindered by Q7F's poor brightness ratings and poor local dimming system. Here is the thing , for many of mid-range HDR TVs brightness remain the most consistent factor contributing to HDR performance . Primarily because the TV in these range doesn't has very good control of their backlights . They need that extra brightness on the screen in order to delivery a more punchy HDR effects. Q7f and NU8000 both fall into this category but since the NU8000 is cheaper , brighter in both HDR / SDR , lower Input Latency, picking the NU8000 just seems like a no brainer . Since NU8000 is a Samsung model , it has some of the new features such as VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) which can be nice for gamers. Will start looking at other brands, but most likely will still stick with Samsung, it seems they still are the most gamer friendly among the other brands |

QUOTE(ulet @ Aug 20 2018, 03:23 PM) only TV size 55" above have trade-in offers, max value is RM1000, depending on the size & price of TV you wanna buyyour old TV need to be at least 32", complete with stand & remote, and in working order for minimum of RM500 trade-in value I'm planning to trade in my 8 years old 42" plasma TV as well, SenQ valued it at RM500 trade-in value for purchasing 55NU7400, IMO that's way better than 2nd hand price, which is near to nothing |
