My 65" QN85D just arrived, replacing my 6 years old 55" NU8000. Nothing wrong with the NU8k, I just fancy a bigger TV for the living room. Got the QN85D for rm4.4k and will redeem rm500 TnG credit. TV is manufactured in Feb 2025, so it is not an old stock.

At first, I expect the QN85D to be just a small step-up over the NU8k, but after the picture adjustment, I'm surprised the difference is big. It is brighter, has better bloom control, better contrast and no more brightness change when subtitle is on in HDR.

The NU8k is still going strong but started to show its age (lack of app support). For less than rm4k, I think QN85D is underappreciated and performs better than expected.

Glad to hear that your Samsung lasted that long. I hope mine will last long too. Given up on shitty Sony because of reliability issue.

It was a demo unit, gone through covid times (where tv hrs are higher than normal) but still going strong. If i had bought a 65" instead back then, I will probably use it until kaput lol.

I have been following the Sony X90 (J/K/L) series but based on its track record, this variant has a tendency to die right after the 2 years warranty ends. No doubt sony's picture processor is top notch but the reliability is questionable.

I was impressed with the QN85C as well when I first got it back in 2023. No doubt QN85D will be slightly better. Enjoy your TV!

Nearing 2 years old now and warranty ending soon, hope it stays up longer

Finally saw it in Harvey Norman. Looks amazing! Sales person came and chit chat with me when I’m checking out the unit, he asked me what TV I’m using now. I told him Sony.

He shake his head and say a lot of customer bought Sony came back and complain about the reliability. Ask me to try Samsung or LG instead because they hear way less complain from the Korean brand lately.

I went and checkout the S95F. Surprisingly the matte coating is so much more improved than the S95D. It has that contrasty black while diffusing most of the ambient light (directly). A lot of tests you can read online are directly shining the light on it and causing the black level to be hazy.

But then in real life I don't think a person would be shining a torch on it all day long. In fact if a person places the TV "especially" in a bright living room (when ambient light is coming from all direction instead of a targeted spot) you might not be able to notice the haziness (cause the brightness of the TV and the color pop is more than enough to counter it).

I recall looking at the S95D and I wasn't quite like it almost instantly cause the contrast is very much compromised.

I noticed a new model@ 65" Neo QLED QN3EF selling 5k+ in epp now. Anyone know the major difference compared with qn85f @ 7.4k?
I checked the spec and found identical spec

I suggest you wait. EPP price increased significantly now. Wait for it to come back down. Previously 65" QN85f is around RM5.3k only. Now EPP price is similar to normal store price. Don't know what is Samsung thinking.

that model is a bit strange in the lineup. looks like it is thinner than qn85f, so something must be opted out?

I called Samsung today out of curiosity, they said QN3EF has a slimmer body and different stand. That's the only difference. Both panels are the same. If you're aiming MINI LED Samsung TV all these while, perhaps it's a good time to get it. Or you can wait for OLED to drop price again but I'm not sure that it will drop. Even if drop it will be around RM7k++ for 65" S85F

QA65S90FAEXXM is the 65in panel and 55in is QA55S90FAKXXM.  The fourth last letter is K for QD OLED and E for WOLED. This changes throughout the stock period and one needs to check the actual stock product number to confirm.

Link click on "2008 and later"

Some more info about the model code. 4th last digit is actually the tuner type based on this article.

But then it looks like rtings has already mentioned that E being WOLED. On the Samsung MY website, all the S95F is K, all the S85F is E and only 55 S90F is K.

If you look at the Neo QLED series, most if not all also K... So I wonder if rtings info is correct. But then US 83" S95F WOLED coincidentally also is E.

Hi, I’m new to TVs and currently considering a 75-inch model.

I’ve come across the following options:
Samsung Q60D (QLED)
Samsung Q8F (QLED)
Samsung QN70F (Neo QLED)

The QN70F is more expensive — is it worth the extra cost?

If anyone owns either of these models, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience or any advice.

My budget is around RM5,000, and the TV will mainly be used for regular viewing (no gaming).
I’m also open to other suggestions within this price range. Thanks.

Hi All,

For Samsung EPP, do we need to purchase the "Basic TV basic table top installation setup" service?

Also, looking at 55". Are there any difference between QN3EF vs QN1EF? the prices different about 1k.

Thanks

I'm planning to upgrade my Samsung 65inch tv as apps are outdated now and while playing PS5 screen keep off and one randomly. Also UI keep lag.

Recommend some good TV budget around 6K mainly for movie content and PS5 HDR gaming..
I planning to try Samsung QLED is that worthy?
