Samsung pre order got a lot of rebates.. very tempting.. looking at qn85f but cant find any good reviews as this model is still new.

I have corporate EPP account (my company's benefit for us) and the price is even more tempting. QN85F is only 5.4k

Hard decision to make:

Samsung 65" OLED S85F @ RM6949

or

Samsung 65" Neo QLED QN85F @ RM5194

Using it in my living room, mostly at night to watch HBO MAX, Apple TV, Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime. Samsung OS does have all these apps right?

With great discounts you got, might as well go for S85F
Yes Tizen got all the above apps.

55" S95F will be available in MY for the first time , and with a rather attractive pricetag , considering all the discounts you will get towards the end of the year.

Given that LG has now royally fcked up the HDR in G5 , S95F will be the more sensible option , at least until they got the mess sorted out.

Beside that, despite getting another major boost in brightness G5 continues to lag SEVERELY behind the QD-OLED , as rtings have showns.
At 100% peak, G5 has only managed to fulfill less than 50% of its color volume despite being the slightly brighter panel here.

It's a bummer there's no extended warranty to purchase from Samsung. Any idea for 3rd party insurance?

Just now I went to 1Utama to physically view the new TVs (Best Denki x Samsung event) All QN F series have a matte coating (not full matte but close to one), so it does feel like viewing a big IPS monitor or an advertisement screen. It's not bad, but personally I feel a semi-gloss or glossy is better for deeper blacks. My old NU8k has a semi-gloss (best for moderately lighted room) and 85D seems quite close to it. I'm gonna scout for 85D with big discounts instead.

That shop.. got bad review lol. But i have seen the price drop to below 5k on other shops during monthly sales.. and there is s95c for 6k from Desa, old but still superior tv.

Then next month, Bravia 5 is coming but i really doubt sony's reliability.

Finally saw it in Harvey Norman. Looks amazing! Sales person came and chit chat with me when I’m checking out the unit, he asked me what TV I’m using now. I told him Sony.

He shake his head and say a lot of customer bought Sony came back and complain about the reliability. Ask me to try Samsung or LG instead because they hear way less complain from the Korean brand lately.

My 65" QN85D just arrived, replacing my 6 years old 55" NU8000. Nothing wrong with the NU8k, I just fancy a bigger TV for the living room. Got the QN85D for rm4.4k and will redeem rm500 TnG credit. TV is manufactured in Feb 2025, so it is not an old stock.

At first, I expect the QN85D to be just a small step-up over the NU8k, but after the picture adjustment, I'm surprised the difference is big. It is brighter, has better bloom control, better contrast and no more brightness change when subtitle is on in HDR.

The NU8k is still going strong but started to show its age (lack of app support). For less than rm4k, I think QN85D is underappreciated and performs better than expected.

Glad to hear that your Samsung lasted that long. I hope mine will last long too. Given up on shitty Sony because of reliability issue.
