Alright, thread started for the league. Check them out and feedback on the rules, worry I might miss out anything. And put the league feedback into that thread.

@waba, would appreciate if you put that link to our first post.

@DF, I summon you for the sake of the league.

@Hunt, open for malaysian atm, so dont invite the sg community yet. Might expand the league to the entire SEA if I see everything going as planned.

@the rest, start promote the league. And I need more staff to help me. Ideally another 2 or 3, submit yourself if you are interested, I getting tied up by these PR works atm and need a hand on other technical stuff. And not to worry, staff can play in the league. tongue.gif

That was fast, u stay up all night?
We had some discussion over here ourselves and based on heaven's experience there are some issues to think about.

- Schedules dont really work.
Some where some how a player will have last minute jobs/obligations to attend to, leaving his opponent waiting for nothing if he failed to inform, Leaving a bad taste and wasting time. This does happen time and again in the Kane's league.

- The duration of league games cant be too long.
People got disinterest if the fight is too long, as u have mention before. Siz weeks is too long IMO unless we have like 24 players. If we only have 10-12 players IMO 3-4 weeks should be more than sufficient if the players are active themselves.

_______________________________________

What we think, after the discussion.
The Solution:
Overviews:-
Round robin play style. We get all the players in first and each player has to fight one another for 2 games, The home and away theory as each player get to choose his/her map once.

For the moment since we wont know if ppl are intersted we can start small.
So I will do a chart and post in a thread like this
user posted image
And keep updating the chart when games are played.

Dynamic play time table:-
There is no fix time table here, instead we encourage ppl to play when they can. So we set up a mama room and only the league participant can join in. They have to keep track themselves who they have fought with or not and submit the result to us. In this way the league wont have to wait for a single player to go forward. At the end of the season those who played less than a minimal amount of games will be disqualified.

What do you and the rest of the people think? Discuss.

I think we should encourage player to post their msn,Xfire or etc when they register. So its easier for people to contact each other. If player are afraid of privacy breach then create a dummy account.

As for shedule.. First the host shall announce who will vs who. The players must arrange a duel within 1 week of the annoucement. I know this might be time consuming but it give time for people to duel.

Soul please add rule of Player must have atleast an Instant messanging program. recomended MSN and Xfire. I still prefer Xfire.

I suggest another rule. If player eitier disconnect or facing difficulties due to techical problems . (e.g lag out or mouse broken) If it within 10 min of the game then both party can rematch. If beyond 10 min, winning party is determine from score.

Oh ?? Which game ?? I remembered I use SM and IG in one of those match. SM's standard build and IG fast tech BO are somewhat similar in fashion, once it's done and executed properly... no one can stop them, pretty imba I would say.

I'm now somewhat in the line between SM/Chaos. Waba, you have a term for this kinda people ??

haha i was saying chaos in general =p

After much thinking, waba's idea prove to be among the best, in fact, that's how ESL's 1v1 ladder is about. But the problem is, you definitely need a website to automate the process for you, like challenging on each player and sort. Which mean we need somebody to do the programming scripting for this idea to work, manual is just too much work to keep track of.

If we run it small first it will be very simple:
We start a thread in the league section and every player post a thread. In each of his/her thread put updates on game outcome and the main chart will be manually updated.

Ofcourse this is temparory solution, if we grow big then automation is the next consideration.

Now another thing to discuss:
The prize(s) of winning the league? Suggestion?

That's what I have in my mind. Start small and fixed opponents system will fit best for the first season. Moreover, I have just started in touch with MAS-1 to see what they could offer. As for prize wise, Kong promised that he will help us.

Of course, you are welcome to participate as long as you met the requirement. And please do spare me from barring the sg community from joining this league. I have thought about their participation, it's just that everything is still in initial stage and I hope to have everything in control for the time being.

I was kidding on the previous post. Yeah we would be happy to see you play with us again.

I guess you can play with us.

not too sure though you'd have to ask the organisers.

I would be appreciate if you could post in that league thread. Boost up the thread as well as easier for me to keep track.

I havent post up how to register yet as I'm waiting for mas-1 management offer, which is technically related. For the time being, just drop a post in that thread.

If you want to take part, just drop a post in that league thread. Now dont make me repeat this too many times or else I'm gonna start spanking butts.

Yes they may. After much speaking to Kong, we have decided not to limit the game to be played on GameSpy in order to promote the game. However, this might change on the 2nd or 3rd seasons. And play your best on the 1st season, who knows you might end up getting an Anthology pack as prize brows.gif
