Confirm I did not get ban... actually I'm on Silver account now but I used up my Xbox Gold 48 hours trial just to see whether can play online or not. No problem here.

PS: tempting to upgrade back to Gold with my CC... if I reload later again with my Gold subscription card then my account would be on Gold for 2 years right?

nope it doesnt work that way for the xbl upgrade unfortunately, you can keep the card to upgrade next year but you cant upgrade it straight away. it adds a year to the current date not the date of expiry. "

anyway, for those who got banned from MS (that is no modify) I'm pretty sure MS has the power to unbanned correct ?

thing is, I wonder if the location thing affects us in relation to this ban, cos most of us put fakey SG address cos we're in m'sia...

there's a whole load of speculation in the xbox forums thread, and a really annoying so-called girl spamming in a big pink font. there was one argument about individual IDs on each disc, and how multiple gamertags associated with the SAME disc = ban. the argument says that multiple copies of one ID can come about through duplication via burning, or even rental discs, so that one is really iffy. if so, many of us trade through Pasar Malam, and surely a few of the local discs have passed through more than a few hands...

i'll go home and see how. my system is pure unmodded, came out brand new out of a box (unfortunately from sungei wang...) but my gamertag has been used not only on this system but others, including a modded system. we'll see later...

edit to add that i know they're banning machine IDs, but jsut can't help but be a bit concerned right now.

No point showing them all the dicsc as they're banning 'modded' consoles. Even if you're playing original games, the console's modded, hence violating their T&C.

How do you proof your machine has not been tampered with?
