Reading this reminds me of a terrible experience from this seller.

I bought 2 bottles of Petronas 10w-40 from them last year and shockingly one has a date printed on the bottle from the past and one has a date from the future.

And I returned one of the bottle only because my engine has a very low level of engine oil at that time as the engine 'makan minyak' and I perform another oil change a week after I bought this bottle of oil.

I also used to buy this Mizu brand engine oil for my Proton Waja. It was good when the bottle is still blue colour for 10w-40, my engine was still smooth after 8,000 km using that bottle but the quality went south after they change the colour of their bottle to green colour. My engine have this loud knocking sound after I go above 140km/h and my mech suggested me to perform an oil change and it solved the problem.

And because my mech told me Petronas oil is one of the oil out there that would still give me a smooth engine even after using it for 8,000 km, I now only buy from one auto on Shopee. I used to buy them from ECAS but I prefer the 'Made in Malaysia' one even when it comes at a higher price. There wasn't any difference in terms of smell between the petronas sold by ECAS and one auto but I just don't like those from EU as my engine feels rough using those oil from EU regardless of brand all the time.

The review from the buyer (Laszada). Bahaya..

"by Lazada CustomerVerified Purchase
Suspect recycle oil..at 5km oil change the oil extremely dark colour. Even the foreman also surprised he said looks like a ‘one million km’ oil usage. Also if u compare the smell with the original shell, this one smell like burnt smell. Go try yourself if u don’t believe me. I used this oil 2x with the same result. "

Not fake as i encounter, bought a few from Lazada and shopee and tried it myself.

Mat Motor - Lazada
DCS motor - Lazada
Paul Hew - Shopee (So far cheapest i ever found)

So far didn't encounter any counterfeit Liqui Moly product, their product is quite hard to counterfeit, for MOS it will be dark grey in colour, for molygen it will be green in colour

we can do such action against them?

QUOTE(iamoracle @ May 17 2018, 12:01 PM)
I had similar experience. I bought Castrol Magnetec 10W-40 Semi from another seller in Lazada.

One fine day while doing housekeeping, I noticed the bottle cracked and oil was leaking from the bottom. Then, I quickly transferred it to another empty bottle. I noticed the oil is less thicker (like diluted) than original one.

Now, I dare not buy from Lazada no matter how cheap it is. I can't imagine how much the repair cost if engine is damaged by fake oil.

I wrote a letter to BP Malaysia asking them to authenticate the item. I shared with them the Lazada URL. Below is their reply.

recently i bring all my engine oil, filter, fan belt, alternator belt, gearbox oil, spark plugs to change.
workshop charge me RM 80 for workmanship only.

workshop will top up a bit on the parts together with workmanship if you get everything from them (imagine every part more expensive 20% than shop price)
thing is you wont know it's genuine or not unless go back to SC, and SC will chop u into many pieces.
example
my friend change gearbox oil at SC, they charge RM 220.
same gearbox oil for only RM 100 (bought at jalan segambut Mazda parts shop), plus labor should be RM 120 only.
so save RM 100 on engine oil alone.

for small oil service can save minimum 150, so i use the savings to do engine treatment everytime service, car feels new everytime after service
major service can save above 400

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

like gf car pay 130 for semi-syn engine oil, i buy Shell full synthetic engine oil from Tesco, RM130 also.
7k vs 10k mileage for same amount paid.

there are also other ways to save money on maintenance, just ppl dont bothered and lazy to research on it
