QUOTE(arief_jezza @ Jun 23 2020, 08:16 AM) Yeah thanks for the tips. I found it easier just to pry out the entire housing since Iām changing the 2 map light, without any cosmetic issue. Just pry that thing and unscrew and pop it in. 1 minute done. The dome light was swapped to LED by SC last time service (request them to do it). However if i need to do it myself then yes i will need your tip. Thanks ya! Does ur dome light having constant glow even after turning off ur car?

QUOTE(arief_jezza @ Jun 23 2020, 03:46 PM) If during driving (engine running) and the light switch is positioned for door, then there will be some light as there is current going through the led. It will be small bleed of light but nothing intrusive even driving nighttime. But if the car is locked, the dome light will be completely turned off as well as the map light (if you forgot to switch em off) U can solve it by adding a 1k ohm 0.5 w resistor. Just place it on the circuit where both side of the led light connector mounted on the connectors in the housing. The resistor only cost 10 cents.

Anyone encountered this problem before? The brake warning light illuminate randomly while driving. Not always happen. But when it lights up, it'll remain there unless I shut down my engine & restart it, then it's gone. Checked that brake fluid is in normal range. Brake pads are not worn out yet. Handbrake is fully disengaged too. This post has been edited by wjang85: Jun 27 2020, 05:21 PM

QUOTE(yadea @ Jun 29 2020, 10:31 AM) Sounds like possibly a handbrake switch issue. Could this be possibly checked with OBD scanner? The brake system is quite complex & involves many components. Like u said, could be handbrake switch issue. There could also be the braking assist system, drum brakes, a faulty relay or faulty sensor on brake master cylinder. There r too many possibilities. Of course, I'd prefer to rectify it without too many trials and errors. Need to save bucks. This post has been edited by wjang85: Jun 29 2020, 07:09 PM

QUOTE(yadea @ Jun 30 2020, 11:46 AM) No, obd will not be able to detect as the switch is probably not connected to ecu. You could try this test to diagnose: Stop the car on a hill/slope. Gear in neutral and release handbrake. If car starts sliding and light is still on then could be just faulty switch. If car starts sliding but theres like resistance and light is on could be that brake isnt fully releasing. Get it checked immediately. U know what. Workshop ran an OBD scan & the problem is due to brake pedal switch. Replaced it. Will observe & hopefully the problem is resolved.

I'm very glad that the problem didn't occur again as of now. At least I can now drive with a peace of mind without worrying about what is wrong with my braking system.

QUOTE(vewership @ Jul 27 2020, 03:48 PM) Thanks man for the advice. Especially on the LEDs. They come with their own cable to attach to the body, and I just couldn't understand why that would affect the warranty. It's just a power thing. I'm not rewiring anything at all. But knowing this has made it easier for me to choose to apply these when they arrive. As for the wheels, the 16" ones should not affect the speedo much or at all. At most it will change by 1kph or 0.58 kph, which is acceptable. The only thing now is finding the RPF1s for the car - people have fake ones and some have real ones. I had to message Enkei Malaysia and they e been amazingly helpful in helping me find someone who can. They're pretty pricey but I suppose that's the point of getting good set rather than knockoffs. Once in a while expenditure, I guess. Plus long term it's better grip and fuel economy, too. Yep, coilovers are there as a plan. Looking at the car you can tell it is really high up. Not that it's a problem but there is some body roll and I would like to lower it enough that it sits better and drags less over the long term. Plus it looks more like a spotty hatchback than a tall SUV/Crossover. Cheers, guys. Any other recommendations would be great. Right now I'm trying to list our good wheels for 205/45R16. If anyone has recommendations would be appreciated! Strut bar & ARB?

QUOTE(vewership @ Jul 28 2020, 09:03 AM) I wanted to reply yesterday but I have a limit on posts apparently! That is an awesome recommendation man. Thanks I will look into getting wheel nuts. Any suggestions or some randos online will do? I am based in KL. Yes! Funny you mention this because I just watched an episode of Might Car Mods and they were using the same thing, and Marty mentioned that instead of coilovers or springs you can simply use struts and ARBs to make the ride much better. That said, one of my biggest worries has always been the post mods where I can to for quality workmanship for balancing and etc. But you guys have mentioned a few and thats helped a lot. I think what I plan is if my research shows ARBs and struts work, I'll change the springs to Eibach Iriz lowering springs and apply struts and ARBs. Might be cheaper than coilovers who knows. What are your thoughts? Well, mind u tell us which side r u leaning towards more to? Handling or comfortable drive. U will need to compromise on either of these. If u want good handling, u'll sacrifice comfort & vice versa. How much of sacrifice in comfort, can u take?

QUOTE(vewership @ Jul 28 2020, 01:40 PM) Hey guys. Yeah I should specifyĀ my needs more clearly. My main goal is comfort and handling. I don't plan on touge, but at some point in the future I do want to take the car to out for track days. @wjang, yeah the ARB concept is very appealing to me right now because it seems like a legitimate concept that will work and will be useful in the long term too. Do you have any recommendations for a good set? @the class of 13* thank you for the very informative layout. Can you explain further what you mean by servicable v non-servicable coilovers? Also with regards to the twintube coilovers, is it difficult to get the right kits for the car? And I'm sorry because I am such a noob at this, what do you mean when you say "choose the rear coilover springs that mounts on torsion beam and not on the damper it self just like stock"? I also have a plan to get a set of Eibach lowering springs instead. Any advice on that? Thanks! I'm using ARB from Ultra Racing. There are 2 thickness available. I chose the thicker one. My approach is to upgrade 1 component at a time, so that I can feel the difference subtly. Then gradually move on to the next part. That way, u'll know how much of a difference u've made to the handling. This post has been edited by wjang85: Jul 28 2020, 01:59 PM

I heard that there was a batch of Mini Cooper using the same CVT GB & the parts r interchangeable. Dunno how true it is though.

QUOTE(Evirober @ Aug 6 2020, 05:14 PM) Required Advice: Iriz 1.3 Manual Of late I noticed my handbrake light indicator is on (Dashboard) while I was driving but if I turn off my car and restart it goes away. The weird thing is that it is not constant it comes and goes. Anyone else experiences this before? Thank you I've the same issue last time. Mine was due to faulty brake pedal switch.

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Aug 9 2020, 09:34 PM) Not agree on the ron97 part. The car manual stated it is suitable for ron 95 and no benefit, hp, torque gain by fill up 97 or 100 Although it can run on ron95, but if the engine isn't well maintained & carbon deposits developed, knocking occurs. N when that is detected by the knocking sensor, the timing will be retarded. In this case, the engine performance will be affected negatively. However if there's no knocking issues to start off, pumping ron97 have no additional benefits as mentioned. That is why older cars tend to run "better" on ron97, not because it increases the performance, but it's bcoz it's running at optimal timing bcoz knockings aren't detected when using a higher octane fuel. QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Aug 10 2020, 07:27 AM) For carbon cleaning purpose, it depend on fuel additive not Ron. Most petrol sold here shown that their fuel additive package is similar (quantity & quality) for it ron 95 and 97. It depend on car requirements, if it need 97 as minimum, then put 95 will make performance drop, but if it 95 or most car with 92 as minimum, not benefit gain at all for fuel up 97 or 100 unless a placebo effect Hmm... I read left, right, top & bottom but still can't find any statement from my post that mentioned Ron rating correlates with the effectiveness of carbon cleaning purposes. š¤

QUOTE(danielcmugen @ Sep 7 2020, 06:46 PM) Anyone successfully installed those aftermarket shark fin antenna cover? As i notice iriz first version has rather big antenna base, not sure whether can fit. I've fitted on my 1.3. It has a smaller base than 1.6. Yours is 1.3 / 1.6?

QUOTE(Kale IX @ Oct 8 2020, 05:10 PM) Recently my Iriz(2015) has been making a louder sound than usual, the sound usually starts at 1600rpm and stops at 2000rpm and it can be heard again when decreasing speed(from 2200rpm). Has anyone experienced this? If I were to describe it; it sounds like I'm going at almost 3000rpm. Sound emits from where? Engine bay, tire, gearbox....?

QUOTE(Kale IX @ Oct 8 2020, 08:33 PM) Not quite sure, but I can tell that it is either from the engine bay or the CVT. My tires are relatively new. Try to pinpoint the source. I recently had a constant humming noise when driving low speed & high speed. Sound emitted around engine bay. Upon checking by a mechanic, it was due to faulty wheel bearing on the rear right side. Sound source can be quite deceiving as in my case. Better get it checked by mechanic.

QUOTE(Ichibanichi @ Nov 21 2020, 08:41 PM) Today is quite a bad day for me. My rear screen got cracked due to flying objects at road side (while parking in front of my house). Managed to send for replacement (claim under windscreen protection in my insurance). During the repair I found out the 3rd brake light got burned...... The burned condition quite terrible. Anyone know how much it will cost for the replacement socket + light bulb btw is the light bulb type t10 or t15? Already PMed u. Looks like the socket has burnt. Just replace it. As for the bulb, use LED. Will last very long, maybe throughout the lifetime of your car.
