Anyone thought of low pressure bolt-on forced induction on a CVT iriz? The car's handling is great, but the powerhouse is underpowered IMO.

Too much trouble as if not mistaken, the CVT cannot take increase...

Mine is a 1.3 liter. According to the spec from proton, it is producing 120 Nm of torque. But datasheet from Punch indicates that VT2 can handle up to 186 Nm. Assuming that i boost it @ 0.5 bar, logically it won't exceed 186 Nm, right? I'm not familiar with forced induction. Hopefully someone can advise.

that is the idea. but somehow the preve cfe suffer a lot of cvt problem, believe the cvt on preve not able to withstand the torque from cfe engine. most model suffer from cvt is preve cfe, suprima (less coz not much car) & exora turbo

Bro, mind to elaborate what problems the CVT faced?

Have you found the MAP sensor location? I am interested to know too so I have tried to look for it, but Iriz intake manifold is at behind the engine and that area have lot of things blocking the view. Wonder it is same location as the Exora which shown in forum sometimes ago.

Edited: second attempt and have found my Iriz MAP sensor location.

I've found it not long after my posting. Unplugged it & looks dusty with some gunk. Sprayed with electronic cleaner & noticed the idling is smoother. Btw, ur engine bay looks clean.

Is it difficult to take out? Because i would like to clean it.

It's plugged in with an o-ring on the MAP sensor to the manifold & tighten with a screw/nut. Just make sure don't drop the screw/nut while loosening & retightening. Otherwise it will be a pain in the arse to look for it.

*
I think it's dependable on the brand. Mine is using Arospeed for Gen2.

Guys, my Iriz is the 1st gen (pre-facelift). My dashboard was having these rattling noises. Sent my car to SC to install IP kit. Initially it did help to lessen the severity of noises, but after some time, it came back. I really couldn't bare with those noises. So I decided to remedy by myself. I removed the glove box & run my hand into the dashboard. I then realized that most of these rattling noises are due to some cables hitting on the hollow aircond vents. As most of us knew, anything that hits on something hollow will create noises. U can try to tap ur fingers on those hollow air vents & u'll know what I mean. So what I did was buy some foam pads & stuff it in between cables and air vents. It resolved all those annoying rattling noises for good. Now my dashboard hardly rattles unless driving thru really bumpy roads. How i wish that during the car production phase, Proton had insulate those air vents. I can say it'll solve 90% of those noises.

Just a side note, be prepared to hv ur lovely smooth hands & forearm got scratches by doing this.

Hi, anyone knows whether the throttle body for 1.3 & 1.6, is the same? If it's different in size, can we swap 1.3 with 1.6 throttle body?

Did ur car got disconnected from the battery terminal recently? If yes, try to turn ur steering wheel all the way counterclockwise & all the way clockwise. Do it when the engine is running.

Just took back my car from Proton Edar(after leaving there for 10 days), because they are still waiting for the spare part to arrive.

Right now my brake has grinding noise every time depress the brake pedal.  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

Poor u. One problem after another. The grinding noise could be the brake rotor is rusty after keeping in the SC for some time. Try driving ur car for some time & chk if the noise still persist.

It could be, because my car was park outside and these few days was raining heavily.

Right now patiently waiting for the replacement part to arrive.  unsure.gif

WHAT?? The initial problem still hasn't solved after leaving ur car for 10 days? That's a lot of time wasted & not to mention, the expenses incurred by using alternative means to travel. The SC is real f*ck up in handling ur case. I can feel ur pain, bro. Patience has its limit.

All aftermarket wipers r the same, regardless of rubber or silicone. Only difference is whether the clip adapter is compatible or not.

High quality tyres r important for safety. Don't overlooked on its importance. Sayang to change bcoz plenty tread left? God forbids if some unfortunate things happen n then u'll realized whether the remaining tread in a poor set of tyres is more important or life. Don't learn it the hard way & regret abt it.
