About to be Iriz owner here. Did a random visit to a showroom today, felt comfortable with the price and performance, then straight away made a booking. Took the 1.6L mid variant dark grey one and planned to modify the exterior once it arrives. Will be searching the forum and online for stuff like body kit, aero kit, outlines, spoilers, etc.
If the car came with spoiler by itself id say keep it as it is. Aero stuff can be tricky so dont go overboard, too much downforce and you start losing out on fuel economy. Keep with stock looking stuff.
Also about mods, careful not to cut into stuff even if they claim as PnP because proton might use it as an excuse to deny your warranty claim(s) if any.

I'm looking for a used Iris auto gb as a second car. Apart from higher power on 1.6 engine from 1.3, any thing else? Don't need the extra power,as this will be my town run around mainly. More concern over its GB & reliability. Any issues on 2015 - 2018 models.
iRiz, Persona family suffers from rusty radiator resulting in overheating (because workshops add tap / mineral water) so inspect, if not too bad can flush coolant and change every 40k kms or 2 years (use premix for peace of mind since no need to mess around with ratio and just use coolant).
Coolant is a vastly overlooked item and if left unchecked for too long will potentially eat into gaskets resulting in an expensive head gasket failure.
Next would be the window motors / regulators leading to failure to roll up the window(s).
Solution: clean window channels, spray silicon lubricant from time to time to ensure smooth operation.
If youre into safety, the Premium came with 6 airbags compared to lower spec iRiz
About the GB, its not your conventional 4AT so youd have to tune your driving slightly, release brake then let it move baru tekan minyak. The newer gen CVT is to me improved and more refined. Some backstory here is that Proton knew of such issues, asked Punch (CVT manufacturer) for help to tune but they didnt bother because well Economics of scale, Proton is a small player. This changed when Geely asked Punch to assist thus the refinement.
With most or all 2nd hand cars, do go in for major service especially if you do not know its service history. Timing belt, water pump (since its next to it je, would save some money to do together), EO, CVT Fluid, CVT filter, oil filter, cabin and engine filter, spark plugs, plug coils (be prepared for them to break if they are old so be on standby and its cheaper to buy online than to go hunting if you discover its broken during change), brake fluid, alignment balancing.

Looking to buy used iriz. I am keen on manual transmission thinking it might be less problematic. But been reading in iriz group and i learn that iriz manual clutch pump is inside the gearbox and common issue for the pump to breakdown? is this true and which is more reliable for iriz, the manual or cvt?
MT owner here who picked one up where the previous owner changed the pump. I think what many people miss out on is brake fluid bleeding / flushing as the fluid is shared with brakes and clutch pump. The bigger one that most miss is doing the same for clutch, did mine and it was dirty.
You can search iRiz restoration on youtube if youd like to see the video.
Might i ask which year iRiz youre considering?
