"To this end, we regret to inform that FYI (CH 736) and Lifetime (CH 709) will cease transmission with effect from 14 December 2018 at 12:10am and 12:40am respectively." (Source: Astro Facebook page)  sad.gif

For your info, AETN All Asia Networks (the company that owns Lifetime, fyi, History, H2 and Crime & Investigation Network) was a joint venture between A&E Television Networks and Astro, however, A+E Networks bought out Astro Overseas's stake in AETN All Asia Networks and renamed it to A+E Networks Asia in July 2013. Lifetime & fyi. bye.gif

Oh! Maybe the cessation of these channels have led Astro to include Boo HD and BabyTV into Super Pack.  hmm.gif

Edited: Sorry to misunderstanding. Is it means that A+E network buy over the Astro Overseas's then no more this Astro Overseas Limited already?
Not very understand is it merger or not.. rclxub.gif

For your info, A+E is just one of the firm that had been previously owned by Astro Overseas, however, Astro Overseas still owns some part of firms, like Fetch TV in Australia, Celestial Tigers, Goal TV Asia Ltd and more.

Students are glued to smartphones. Better develop app instead of tv channel.

I kinda feel weird that astro won't launch local channels in HD, but keep bring trashy channel like ch.110.

Also, all Media Prima channels has 1080p stream on Tonton.

expect to see more companies jumping in the bandwagon
next year gonna be shit year for most industries due to recession
yet some people think as if yelling bantah icerd can place food on their table, tongkat mindset never realized

to add:

they do have embarked on a journey towards digital transformation
by slowly getting rid of traditional DTH platform, into modernized digital technology company, this VSS might very well targeted towards these DTH platform people more. Ironically, revenues still coming from subscribers money, while digital products are losing money; so they can't chop off the DTH just yet

not many people actually know that Astro has its own ewallet and payment gateway, it has miserably low adoption in the market, due to lack of awareness of the products, what is the use of ewallet if all it ever does is just to pay astro bills?? Seriously, even TnG ewallet is catching up very fast

it is very hard to ride on the digital transformation bandwagon, if the mindset of most top managements still resides in 80s-90s era, those old man with ego bigger than their balls

Bad time for media. Media Prima, utusan, malay mail. Last year Star also. and now the strongest media in Malaysia is offering VSS as well.

Bad sign for the industry. We can say padan muka and all, but a collapse of an industry is always bad for country and will come bite us back in the ass
