My multiroom is an ultra box tho. IIRC if you have sports then they will give you ultra box to watch 805 and 806

For local contents especially Malay, Astro is still king. And while there are some that might pop up here and there (Viu did produce Nenek Bongkok Tiga last year), usually Astro will sublicense them as well, so if you don't have a streaming service, you can still watch it on Astro. The previously mentioned Nenek Bongkok Tiga series was shown on both Viu and Astro Ria.

And in-house contents does not solely means dramas. They can also encompass variety shows, especially live ones. And talking to my Malay colleagues, they really do follow shows like Gegar Vaganza, Maharaja Lawak, Spontan, etc. One of my colleague who uses nJoi would pay up to get RIA so that his wife can watch Gegar Vaganza whenever it's on air.

And sometimes you need to remember, in this bubble of this forum, people are mostly tech literate, and would have decent internet at home or fast data on their phone. But I can assure you, even living and working in KL there are a lot of my Malay colleagues who don't even have an ISP at home, and rely on 10/20GB of phone data when they want to use internet at home. For some, it's not even a choice. When you buy a cheap house in the middle of a Selangor village, sometimes ISP don't even offer any fibre yet at that area. So Astro, which don't rely on internet, works even in the most rural of area, and have all those TV shows that caters to your group, it's a no brainer.

Due to Netflix picking up WWE, WWE Network internationally would be closed down by the end of the year. Note that this is the WWE Network that WWE themselves are hosting.

For countries like Malaysia which carries it as a linear channel, or India that has a special deal with Sony Sports Network, it remains to be seen what would happen after the current deal ends.

Sucks for me that I don't have netflix tho. Oh well

actually no. I am subscribed to WWE Network directly, not via Astro. I am going to miss that service.
But once it's dead, I dout I am going to move on to Netflix. Might as well save a few bucks.

After spending nearly a week trying to get a proper 5.1 audio when watching TV, I noticed something. BEIN Sports don't have 5.1 audio, even when they are providing 4K feed. This is noticeable as Astro's own native feed will have 5.1 audio on channel 805 (with commentary/voices coming from centre, even during commercial).

Surprisingly enough, even History Channel has 5.1 audio. BEIN, why are you skimping? 🤌🤌🤌
