That's what I did with mine. Also note that to make sure other people can't steal your box, they will courier your box and sim card separately.1 of my multiroom decoder+dish at different hse prdkancil liked this post

QUOTE(The.Lucas.DaY @ Mar 15 2024, 04:33 PM) install any plugin that can detect what is playing in your browser. I usually use VideoDownloadHelperCheck what is playing and see the detail ![]() There should be an MPD URL in the details. Copy the link, and paste in your browser. It should download an MPD file ![]() Open the MPD file in a text editor and voila, you get the information of the stream. ![]() ![]() Note that the stream itself is encrypted. But the mpd (manifest) file itself won't be. It won't do any good if you want to watch the stream in another player, but it's great to see information on what quality the stream supports PRSXFENG, The.Lucas.DaY, and 2 others liked this post

QUOTE(doubleM2 @ Mar 18 2024, 10:18 PM) It's a bummer anyway since NHK World Premium is ONLY viewable via satellite dish. Plug 'n Play & Astro GO app cannot. IIRC that is due to NHK's decision. They were (at the time) only allowing NHK Premium on broadcast. Hence why they pulled the plug on the channel from Unifi TV, as Unifi TV is considered "streaming" doubleM2 liked this post

QUOTE(pokemon @ Mar 20 2024, 12:22 PM) They are not adding the pillarbox. But because the app is playing at default reso, meaning since your phone reso is larger than 480p, it's zoomed out. If you open Sooka with browser, you will see that it fills the browser without pillarbox even at 480p |

QUOTE(doubleM2 @ Mar 21 2024, 10:08 PM) Singapore got NHK World Premium on streaming too via the StarHub TV+ app. It applies to Hong Kong as well via Now Player (Now TV). As I said, "at the time". NHK is kinda weird in a way. doubleM2 liked this post

QUOTE(shaun_kok @ Mar 23 2024, 02:13 AM) This kinda explained why the rating of 8TV is now on its record high (more than half of total Chinese viewing is on 8TV - and 8TV has a clear monopoly on FTA market) + the migration in general to legal and illegal streaming services. Ironically some of those people on illegal streaming are using it to watch Astro's in house show. So if Astro bungkus they are killing their own favourite show Based on past records, adoption of Astro has always been generally lower on the Chinese population. Even then, Astro's adoption is in decline across all races thanks to MYTV (what's the point of using Astro if you are going to watch just TV3?) + Unifi TV + legal and illegal streaming. Sometime ago, Astro was claiming 80% penetration (and maybe 70%+ penetration.) |

QUOTE(doubleM2 @ Mar 24 2024, 01:40 AM) Besides the pay-TV bundle, holy phuck, it is hella expensive for some functionalities that don't even match the normal Disney+. Thta what happens when your currency is weak and you don't have enough population to offer low price. For example why Indonesia can offer lower prices compared to Malaysia is because they have lots and lots of people to cover the cost. 10% of Indonesians subscribing to something is already 27 million customers. Whereas 10% customer in Malaysia is only 3 million. doubleM2 liked this post

Astro emailed me about my upcoming contract is finishing. If I don't do anything, would it auto renew to 2 year (with the cheaper price)? Or renew to only 1 year?

QUOTE(doubleM2 @ Apr 12 2024, 12:31 AM) Nice!QUOTE(joshhd @ Apr 12 2024, 12:59 AM) Yeah. NHK World Premium (CH398) used to be part of Dynasty/Chinese Favourites. Yeah, but if you follow Japanese entertainment industry, it's a great channel to have as you get same day viewing of some Japanese dramas, and during new year eve, live Kohaku concert. Previously I subscribed this channel on Unifi TV until it was dropped. So I am rather glad I can get this for free since it's a premium channel.Since they moved all channels in that pack/addon into Family/Primary Pack from 1 Apr 2024, hence that is why you can watch it now. In fact is, every Astro customers can watch it now, without subscribing to anything. But, that channel has no subtitles (even if there is, then it's a hardcoded Japanese subtitles during non-Japanese dialogues), and their English audio dub are only applicable to very few programmes only. It's like, that channel is meant for Japanese expats in Malaysia, not really meant for us locals to watch it. Unless if you can understand Japanese, then it's different story. For those who don't know, Japan's NHK is like equivalent to our Malaysia's RTM, so don't expect too much from that Japanese channel. And for those wondering, no, it's not similar to NHK World (non premium) which can be streamed for free. |
