QUOTE(THE CLASS OF 13 @ Mar 6 2023, 10:31 AM) anyone have latest multiroom apk for android tv? will astro detect the brand and model lets say if i use it on xiaomi tv which is not in list of supported model ? They don't let you install directly from the Play Store, but you can still sideload the APK without restriction

QUOTE(CSNG8586 @ Mar 6 2023, 02:41 PM) Is that SPOTV NOW will come to Astro soon? Unlikely since there is no SPOTV Now app for Android TV / Smart TV, unlike Bein Connect. Hence it can't be intergrated into the Astro Ultra Box

QUOTE(jusbella @ Mar 6 2023, 04:49 PM) Doesn't need to use apps, Astro still using STB box and satellite. Eh no. He was asking about SPOTV Now app. From what we have seen, any apps that are given by access by Astro are available on the Astro Ultra box. This includes Netflix, Hotstar, BEIN Connect, ETC. All of these have apps that are for Smart TV. These apps are usually conversion of their Android TV app, or in the case of Hotstar, made from the ground up for Astro, but still based on their TV app. But for SPOTV Now, they only have a smart phone app, and no TV Apps. Which is why it's unlikely for Astro to give an SPOTV Now access link

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Mar 9 2023, 08:05 PM) They wanna to learn like UnifiTV suddenly give free for Lionsgate apps.. But copycat cannot copy 100%, else UnifiTV will complain back to them. Why astro don't steady give free for Disney+ ? Anyway, both company also very kedekut.. They can't give out Lionsgate the same reason they are not giving out SpoTV Now. They are only giving out logins for apps that are available for the Ultrabox. Currently those are only - Netflix - Hotstar - iQiyi - Viu - TVB Anywhere - Bein Sports Connect - BBC - HBO Go - Zee 5

QUOTE(doubleM2 @ Mar 10 2023, 12:02 AM) It already has VIP TV plan for RM62.90/month, previously RM84.90/month. Weirdly doesn’t support Chromecast with Google TV for some reason. That some reason is Astro wants to tie down Smart TV users to just a single location, so they are actively blocking it from being installed on specific, portable devices. Funnily enough some newer portable devices do have the ability to have Sooka installed through the Play Store since they are too new to be in the block list by Astro at this point in time.

QUOTE(The.Lucas.DaY @ Mar 15 2023, 10:59 PM) Hi, how can i check my contract end date ya? I think my contract renewed in 2021 but forgotten the month Do you have a discount of any kind when you renew your contract? Mine had a discount on Sports Package, and since it shows on my bill when the discount will end, I know my conctract ends the same date as that. Currently this is the easiest way i know to check when my contract is ending

QUOTE(PJng @ Mar 22 2023, 02:47 PM) Just google search, no mention HDCP version I think old tv no HDCP 2.0, tv that older that 2010 https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=47175533Whatever i google searh anything, will come back to lyn If 720p tv for sure not compliant But IIRC the box itself would only be in HDCP 2.2 mode if you set it to 4K. It will fall back to HDCP 1.X if you set it to 1080p. So a normal 1080p TV should be able to work with the box. The people who have issues are the ones that has 4K TV's but HDCP lower than 2.2, which means they can't use the 4K capabilities of the box. If you are just using it for 1080p, then it should be fine This post has been edited by linkinstreet: Mar 23 2023, 09:37 AM

QUOTE(Zot @ Mar 23 2023, 10:29 AM) I believe it does not matter. The box is looking for HDCP compliance. It is waiting for handshake. If no response, no picture passes through even if the content is not 4k. When you first set up the box, you are given the choice to set it to ouput either 1080p or 4K. Choose 1080p and the box won't look for HDCP 2.2. I know because I used a non 4K TV with HDCP 1.4 to first set up the box at my office when it first arrived.

QUOTE(Zot @ Mar 23 2023, 11:25 AM) That is because the HDCP 2.2 is not backward compatible to HDCP v1.x, not even with 2.0 or 2.1 as far as I know. Your TV has HDCP v1.x at least. My previous point was about HD TV with no HDCP chip at all (ancient - whether if any existed). I believe it will not work. Makes sense.

QUOTE(joshhd @ Mar 24 2023, 07:40 PM) Let's say now you set the Ultra Box as 1080p output resolution. Now you tune to UHD channel 549, you will still see HDCP 2.2 error message if the Ultra Box is connected to a non-HDCP 2.2 compliant display. PJng Read this to know more: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...#entry102781471Well the question was could the user use the ultrabox with a non 4K, non HDCP2.2 TV, which the answer is yes. Since the said person is using a non 4K TV, one would assume he won't actually be trying to watch a 4K channel.

IIRC, they have a blacklist that they would update on the play store which allow/disallow which devices can access it from the play store. So once they update the app version, you will find that you can't update it from the play store and the app breaks. It's a simple solution since it does not really need much configuration. In any case, this is the app that is in question: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...iew&hl=en&gl=USEDIT: Yep, it's blocked on all of my AndroidTV devices now lol This post has been edited by linkinstreet: Mar 30 2023, 01:02 PM

QUOTE(raizo7 @ Mar 30 2023, 01:26 PM) Ridiculous, isn't it. They decided to support 2 TV makers but left the others, even all the certified Android TV devices. Pretty sure it's not a security issue though, maybe just laziness to maintain or update the app. It's not about that. Multiroom technically means that it's your 2nd astro in your house. They just don't want people to install it on a portable device and then lend it to someone else. IIRC Sky also has the same limitations in the UK as well, since I've read similar thread to us in Reddit about getting the Sky app to work in Chromecast

QUOTE(Oltromen Ripot @ Apr 6 2023, 01:26 PM) try explaining how the dish is now aligned perfectly to satellite anyway, ASTRO installer can moonlight outside the system? as "own, independent contractors"? Yeah, the one that I paid to install mine told me he also would do work for Astro. Also aligning is not hard to be honest. If you live in a place where there are a number of Astro users, you can use their dish as your guide on where to point. We did this at a friend's house since he didn't feel like paying an installer after he moved.

QUOTE(ly27 @ Apr 11 2023, 05:59 PM) Tried changing to another Hdmi. while the original hdmi i use it for nintendo switch and is working. So is not hdmi issue. The blank screen (no hdmi signal) usually occur after some day not watching astro. When wanted to watch turned on the astro box and it says no signal. Huh I tried let the astro box run without turning off the box. Only switch off the TV when not watching to avoid this issue. Still same behavior persist. Looks like when not in use the box went into idle mode. Hence, like this. This is the feeling im getting. Oh, I presume you did not turn off sleep mode?
