Better you log on your account at astro portal and refresh your signal manually.
I recalled I called for account suspension for holidays and Assthrow signal didn't reach the decoder and can watch the programs for more than 1 month free...
*

Hah? Astro signal didn't reach your box and end up you can watch your subscribed channels for more than 1 month for free? unsure.gif
I never hear such stories before... hmm.gif When was that, like which year? Back then, you were using HD or PVR box?

hi, may i know if the astro multiroom smart TV log in using similar way like astro go? i.e. username and password

how does astro able to detect if the multiroom is in same household?
*

The login method is scan QR code appear on the TV screen, the login to your Astro ID on your device's browser.
QUOTE(moto-moto @ Sep 2 2023, 10:33 AM)
so for now does astro block smart TVmultiroom on different household?
the smart TV multiroom not lock contract for 24 months right?
*

As what I know, Astro currently don't do like what Netflix is doing now.

Official answer is: No, Astro Multiroom subscriptions should be installed and use within the same premise address. If you want to use Astro in different address, please sign up another Astro subscription.

But unofficial answer is: Technically yes, you can use it outside your premise address. But do it at your own risk.

Multiroom (Smart TV) subscription is considered as add-on and it does not have contract, therefore you can cancel it anytime.

Would like to have the following in my astro subscription,
1) Disney hotstar
2) All chinese channels
3) All English movie channel (Except netfilx)

Sifus here, any suggestion for what package+add on shall I take up?

P/S: World cup /Euro cup time can purchase 1 time all matches package, right?
*

Movies Pack (RM94.99 with 24mths contract auto renewal)
and add Chinese Favourites for RM14.99/month
Total RM109.98 + 6% SST = RM116.58 per month

Sometimes Astro might offer pay-per-view passes on some major sports events like the World Cup/Euro Cup and today, Rugby World Cup, where you just pay once to get channels access to that particular event until it ends.
QUOTE(Feliex @ Sep 11 2023, 09:27 AM)
Any recommend a cheap pack? Sport & History channel only?
*

Sports Pack (RM99.99 with 24mths contract auto renewal)
and then add "Movies & Documentaries" addon for RM14.99/month
Total RM114.98 + 6% SST = RM121.88 per month

Guys, everytime I quit Netflix, the screen goes black with no sound. No matter how long I wait it wont go back to Astro channels. I have to switch off and on the decoder everytime I finish netflix session.

Is this happening to you guys? Is it common? Any solution to this?
Asking here before calling Astro(most frustrating wait time and drop calls)

Havent tried other apps. Only using Netflix app inside Astro.
*

Yes, it does happens intermittently to me, and everyone else. Your only solution when this happens, is to unplug the power and then plug it back on.
Or, watch Netflix on your own smart devices, like smart TV or Android TV.
Getting Netflix bundles from Astro is a good deal, but streaming Netflix on Astro Ultra/Ulti Box isn't a good deal.

Like I said before, Ultra / Ulti Box has a sh*tty hardware with a sh*tty software in it. Endless software bugs here and there.
When they finally fix one bug, another bug emerges. You'll get used to it la. sweat.gif

Change topic a while... This is more related to FM radio broadcasts.

Sarawak and Sabah version of Hitz FM and MY FM will cease and to be migrated to the same version as Peninsular Malaysia.
user posted image
For those who don't know, if you tune to Hitz FM, Era FM or MY FM radio station in Sarawak and Sabah, some of the radio programming, radio announcers and also advertisements are completely different compared to the Hitz FM, Era FM or MY FM version that you listen in Peninsular Malaysia. The 3 radio stations mentioned has been broadcasting in localised feed since 2010, and this is about to change effective 1 October 2023.

In case you still don't understand, from 1 October 2023 onwards:
- Hitz FM and MY FM transmission in Sarawak and Sabah, will revert back to the same radio feed as Peninsular Malaysia today.
- Whatever you listen on Hitz FM and MY FM stations via FM radio transmissions within Peninsular Malaysia today, and then you fly to Sarawak/Sabah and tune to Hitz FM and MY FM transmission there, it will be the same version as what you listen back in Peninsular Malaysia.
- No more Sarawak/Sabah-based radio announcers, radio programming and localised advertisements thereafter.

Why, you ask?
In the screenshot above, it mentions "in line with Astro Radio's transformation."
To me, it suggests that it is either they want to cut cost, or it is not making money, or both.

However, Era FM is not affected, and it will still continue its localised feed broadcast in Sarawak and Sabah just like today.
Maybe because localised Era FM versions in Sarawak and Sabah is making enough money. sweat.gif

Ultrabox is so powerful that can house so many apps without bugs?
No more hang and lagging?

If Ultrabox is that powerful, then we wouldn't even need to mention about bugs, hang and lagging here anymore, don't you think? hmm.gif
After all, if you experience black screen upon launch or exit the app, or whatever hang or glitches that it can't go away on its own, just unplug the power cord and plug it back in.
Problem "solved". biggrin.gif

QUOTE(pokemon @ Sep 18 2023, 11:01 PM)
Why should we pay assthrow to get netflix?
Better we get a stable tvbox/android tv to watch netflix.
We can just press one button on the remote to switch hdmi between ultra and tvbox.  More steps and time needed to go for dinosaur way to unplug and plug it back.
*

Some people want both Astro and Netflix at the same time, and it'll be a bit cheaper compared to getting both subscription separately, but in return you'll get contract auto renewal. Some people don't mind about contract auto renewal, but some people will hate it.
Also, some people likes the feeling of "bundling many stuff in one bill".

Some simply wants the convenience of accessing the streaming apps right on Astro box (especially those who aren't using smart TV device), while some wants a better premium user experience that the Ultra Box can't deliver but other stable Android TV box/sticks can.

For those who want or like using Ultra Box to navigate here and there and access to various of apps, you'll need to manage your expectation as the overall user experience just won't be better than what you get on a certified Android TV devices. And you must expect that issues like intermittent app crash, lag, hang, unresponsive black screen, is something that is bound to happen at anytime. The more often you use the Ultra/Ulti box, the higher the chance you'll get to see this.

But still, it depends on the individual also, cuz some people just lazy to bother much about it, and just accept as it is, because filing a complaint to customer service is already a hassle.

QUOTE(muscaa @ Sep 20 2023, 03:09 PM)
Haha..just terminated my super pack 3 two months ago. It’s a very good package for Chinese channels and Sports. I was able to watch golf and cricket for free too. Can have a total of four devices using Astro Go. Never change to the new package unless they force you
*

You're not the only one out there that wants to stay in Super Pack 3.
Astro has been encouraging customers to migrate to the new packs since 2021, so they contacted you to upsell you to the new packs, is simply their ongoing process.

Refer to the latest rate card here: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...#entry108101700

And yes, if you migrate from Super Pack 3 to Premium Pack 3, you'll lose Sports and News & Documentaries as you mentioned, but you'll get Netflix instead. Some people may like it, some don't.
QUOTE(jusbella @ Sep 20 2023, 10:39 PM)
My parent same 3A.

But those apps unable to login. Must upgrade the pack in order to use Netflix and Disney hotstar.
*

As long your subscription has Movies Pack, regardless of legacy or new packs, you'll be entitled to Disney+ Hotstar and HBO GO.

Super Pack 3/3a has Movies Pack.
And that means you are already entitled to Disney+ Hotstar since the day it launches in June 2021. If you didn't use it, then you rugi lah.

If you're using Ulti or Ultra Box, you can launch the Disney+ Hotstar app and login to start watching, or link it to your Astro account if you haven't do so: https://astro.com.my/disney

For Netflix, you can login to your own existing Netflix account (make sure the subscription is already active) on your Ulti/Ultra Box and start watching. It is not true that you must upgrade to new pack to use Netflix on Ulti/Ultra Box.

Then at least you can still get Disney+ Hotstar entitlement and watch it on your own devices.
QUOTE(ckl1998 @ Sep 21 2023, 12:52 AM)
Super Pack 3 to Super Pack 3A save MYR17 per month with the sacrifice of golf and cricket channel, as well as cloud storage from 400h to 200h, still OK if one is not golf or cricket fan.

Disney+ Hotstar in Ultra Box is restricted, no 4k contents, not sure whether it is still the case now. Instead I run the Disney+ Hotstar in my TV where it can stream the 4k contents if available.

Existing Netflix is MYR55. The Netflix by Astro is the same or with some restriction?
*

Disney+ Hotstar on Ulti/Ultra box, maximum Full HD and Stereo audio. If you want 4K and 5.1 audio, use the app on your smart TV instead, which is what you're doing now.
Netflix on Ulti/Ultra box, supports 4K UHD and Dolby Atmos, but does not support Dolby Vision. To stream Netflix shows that supports Dolby Vision, use the app on your own smart TV (provided if your TV supports Dolby Vision).

If you subscribe to any Astro packs that comes with Netflix, you'll get Netflix Standard (2 screens, equivalent to RM45 plan) by default. You can add another RM10 to get Netflix Premium (4 screens, equivalent to RM55 plan).

Because roaming still under Malaysia digi network.

So other than Malaysia IP, they block geo-location. Not sure about Singapore can or not.
*
QUOTE(brandonkl @ Sep 26 2023, 01:43 PM)
As long as you roam with any telco in Malaysia, you can access Astro Go overseas as data is routed back through Malaysia telco network. Thus, Astro Go will think you are in Malaysia. This is especially useful when you are in China as you can continue to use Facebook, IG, whatsapp. If you buy China local SIM, you can't use the social media. Even some VPN also cannot.

I am able to access Astro Go to watch live EPL matches in 10 countries in last 9 months.

I am on Celcom 188 plan and there is free roaming in 23 countries where you can use your Malaysia data quota for roaming in that 23 countries up to 100GB. So, there's more than enough to stream live EPL matches on Astro Go whole roaming.
*
Wah... Shhhhhh... Don't expose such a big secret here... Later the Astro spies will "find ways to fix this", then this method wouldn't work anymore sad.gif

Btw I tried it in Singapore, it works. 🤭🤭

NJOI being so generous, 43 channels at RM29.90 for family pack - https://purchase.njoi.com.my/bm-bundles/fam...llw_uemMdp0ArZY Is it because most Astro subscribers terminate/ downgrade to NJOI?
*
QUOTE(doubleM2 @ Sep 30 2023, 09:47 AM)
Desperate measures to recover loss of revenue I guess. Also, recently iQIYI Ch 300 finally available on NJOI, now included in this new pack. Also visible are CNA Ch 515, AXN Ch 701, and Lifetime Ch 703.
*
QUOTE(Iptvfan @ Sep 30 2023, 10:41 AM)
Maybe they want to use njoi to fight unifitv. But useless unifitv focus is bundle premium streaming apps to cenels. Njoi no streaming apps. So is going backward. Yes got ppl watch live tv but pendalaman la. Not the future esp more ppl got bb. So azzteeroo will continue to suffer.
*

Well, Astro's profit is still going down... I guess is they want to encourage customers to pay more (especially NJOI customers) to cover up the costs, and now apparently one of their methods is to make NJOI packs more attractive.
