Okay. MCO extends another 2 weeks, to 12 May 2020.

Movie and news channels, how?
Since MCO was supposed to end on 28 Apr, so let's just wait till 1 day before 28 Apr, which is 27 Apr, to announce that they'll extend their complimentary viewing to 12 May.
*
Not only that.... sports pack customers also as well?

Normal lah.
Imagine you pay for something that you didn't expect to get (live sport matches). Would you want to continue pay for that?

But Astro also want to protect themselves financially, so of course no discounts is given.  biggrin.gif
They rather give free preview on all channels also don't want to give discount.

If you have financial problem, then unfortunately that's your problem, not theirs.  sad.gif
What I'm saying by "not theirs" means they won't care about your problem.
Until the day you stop paying your Astro bill, then only they will come and look for you.
*
QUOTE(7rings @ Apr 24 2020, 01:02 PM)
Makes sense that they are asking for refund,.

You are paying a premium for live matches so expect live matches instead of repeats.
*
QUOTE(nexona88 @ Apr 24 2020, 02:25 PM)
Actually speaking..
He got point..
U pay for live event...

I think even Astro got case now..
Those EPL or any others live sport broadcast rights..
Astro paid nearly billions for it.. So either get discounts or period extension (maybe added 1 year extra from original contract)..
*
Didn't Astro already give open up all the channel(except PPV) for sports pack customer as a compensation(to replace refunds/discount)?

Maybe everyone is only aware with the free news + movie channel but not the "special promo/discount" for sports pack customers

CriteriaEnjoy what stuff for free?

As long your subscription has Movies packMovie channels other than ch411-416, news channels, and Cartoon Network

As long you are NJOI customerCelestial Movies, Nat Geo Wild (SD only), Cartoon Network and Kix
As long you are in Malaysia, and you're not Astro/Njoi customerAccess to very limited of Astro Go content and live channels for free

Astro didn't explicitly say that Sports pack customers get Super Pack Plus 4 for free, but only say complimentary to all channels except Astro First/Best channels, but actually it is same thing as Super Pack Plus 4 offerings.
Maybe they don't want to cause further PR disaster especially those who already subscribe to Super Pack Plus 4 and pay RM228/month.

I believe many Sports pack customers already aware that Astro opened all channels (except Astro First and Best) for free until 28 April 2020, unless they extend again.
But I'm sure many of them still rather get their money back, rather than enjoy all channels for free.

Complete list of all movie channels:
108 - Astro Citra
115 - ABO Tayangan Hebat
202 - Astro Vellithirai
241 - ABO Thangathirai
251 - Astro BollyOne
309 - Celestial Movies
321 - Celestial Classic Movies (CCM)
401 - HITS Movies
404 - BOO
411 - HBO
412 - Cinemax

416 - tvN Movies

*Channel 411 until 416 are already included in Movies Pack

Isn’t it 30th April for sports pack/SD only subscription?

Or maybe I’ve read wrongly somewhere

Yeah, but it's not that you will get to enjoy live sports matches after 30 April also.
If they think that their complaints received still not much enough (tak cukup banyak),
then they shall embrace the "next big wave" from its customers if they stop the complimentary of all channels to Sports pack customers after 30 April.

For those who didn't subscribe to HD service, yes, the HD service itself is free for you until 30 April.

Whether they would extend it again or not, we shall see la...  biggrin.gif
Time will tell anyway.

My advice? Astro might as well close their call centre operations, so that customers will not able to call them at all.
When customer ask why? Say la, all CS agents work from home, cannot answer phone calls anymore. Only can be contacted via social media or WhatsApp.

They can say that "no staffs are working on their activation department", so I don't see why they can't say none of any of their call centre agents are working on office.  whistling.gif
By that time, they will be like "Complain? Where got complain? We received no complaints report today. Our service no problem. You got problem? Restart your Astro box. biggrin.gif"
*
Wah if close entirely then customer said that why can’t just accept call remotely(something like VOIP)? Also maybe brace for some mcmc reports ? If Astro don’t want to extend super pack plus 4 then got ranting.gif customer for sure... we’ll see when they announce their complimentary viewing. Even someone wrote “wedon’tcare@Astro” on their fb page

Btw hmm.gif saw this on the Astro fb page

We have news media reporting it differently on the title, guessing that sports pack customers aren't getting super pack plus 4 anymore...

I mean, look, the change the obvious...

I don't know exactly why they do that, but I can imagine that Astro has been experience a "tough hit" from its Chinese subscribers.
What, too many Chinese subscribers complain about the change in Astro Wah Lai Toi | TVB Jade thing? Or TVB Jade air same premiere episode as Astro AOD? Or complaints of no live sports matches?
I mean look at the difference... Astro seems to try very hard to please especially those existing Super Pack 3 customers, while you don't see such drastic changes in Malay and Indian vernacular packages and pretty much other packages available.  sweat.gif

I do wonder, does it have to do with the MCO thing? Or it was something else?  hmm.gif
Especially the Super Pack Plus 3, damn, they got nothing else to add, so they add "200 additional cloud recording hours"?  doh.gif
If you got a lot of money, would that convinces you to subscribe to Super Pack Plus 3?
I can sense that Super Pack Plus is slowly getting redundant...
Seems like pretty sad case to me, but a happy case to Chinese subscribers la.

EDIT: Celestial Movies (ch309/349) is now included in Value Pack 5 (Stars Pack) as well...

Is super pack plus 3 IPTV the same as super pack plus 3?

And the cloud recording total is going to be 400 hours for that package?

Same only.... It's just that you'll get some extra discounts, since IPTV already bundled HD-PVR service.

200 hrs is free to all customers, and then if you're on Super Pack Plus 3, you get another extra 200 hrs lo... Total 400 hours, yes.

Are you on Super Pack Plus 3??? Maybe you wanna consider downgrade it or something?
*
my parents subscribe to super pack plus 3.... Cloud recording is kinda pointless for IPTV now, unless you use Astro Go 24/7?

If your family usually don't watch much all channels included in Super Pack Plus 3, especially like RugbyPass TV, Astro Cricket, Golf Channel, all 4 mini packages and more, you can consider downgrade to just the normal Super Pack 3 to save some money. Or even Wah Pack.

Damn. Astro is not gonna like this, since the price difference is huge.... 😂
*
If for normal pack(no IPTV) yup, kinda... add up to roughly rm141

but Astro could literally say "we have a special deal with you but you'll need to sign a contract for 24 months" then from behind, switch over from IPTV to astro&broadband?

Can I ask to cut Astro via internet?

To downgrade you'll need to contact them by phone, so it should the same for terminating Astro.... You can't terminate astro during MCO though

That's the "customer retention specialist" talking to you. They twist here and there to make you stay and continue pay more.
That's why, if you've made your decision, just go ahead with it, and don't let them change your mind.
*
🤔, like the same person whom I tell them to downgrade? Maybe because they put me on hold and go and talk to customer retention specialist

Happened at the end of last year when I contacted to replace a faulty PVR box at my grandma's house, "we have a special deal for you, we can offer you free replacement and installation(rm65 waived), all you need to do is sign a 6 months contract"

Maybe downgrade(probably retain some mini pack as they watch it, ch1xx,2xx,6xx no one watch- other than FTA channels) and at the same time change internet speed(maybe ISP as well since unifi was available 1 year ago on a separate infra/tiang), probably it's going to be "sweeten the deal" or they will not like it

All Super Pack Plus package comes with all 4 mini packages, while Super Pack comes with only 3 mini packages.
Astro currently opens all News and Learning pack channels until at least 12 May, and who knows they'll extend again.

So yea, now you know, and it's up to you to decide which are the 3 mini packages you wish to maintain upon downgrade to Super Pack 3.

Errr noo....
Contract doesn't stack up like this.

You got 24 months contract on your Ultra Box, that means the contract is for the use of the Ultra Box itself, as well as the Astro account (you can't suspend/terminate your Astro account until contract is over).
However for Super Pack's 24 months contract, it means you must maintain the particular Super Pack (e.g. Super Pack 3) in the next 24 months.
If you downgrade or change to other Super Packs, it means you breach the 24 months contract of your Super Pack and have to pay for penalty.

Another example, let say you got 24 months contract on Ultra Box, but the package you're on right now, doesn't have any outstanding contracts.
In this case, you can freely downgrade or upgrade whatever package you want. No strings attached, unless the new package that you subscribed to, has another contract.
Situations that would affect your 24 months contract is,  if you have any replacement/change in the Astro STB you're using now (i.e. Ultra Box), then your contract would be restarted.
And also, you cannot suspend/terminate Astro account, and even if they allowed you to suspend your account for some reasons, your contract period shall extend according to the amount of days that your account is being suspended.

You got 2 separate contracts that starts and ends at different date. You get what I mean?
The 6 months that I referred to, it means that "previously", before MCO, when you wanna subscribe to Super Pack 3 for RM163/month, the contract they'll give you is 6 months.
But now apparently as bananalow shared the latest info, it seems that as long anyone (new or existing customer) subscribes to Super Pack 3, the price will be RM146/month (as shown on the latest subscription rate card), but the contract is now 24 months, no longer 6 months.
(I think Astro do that is because they want to protect themselves financially. You know la, what are the things happened to Astro especially throughout this MCO).

I'm not sure if it's only Super Pack 3, or all Super Packs are affected by this, as well as Starter Pack and Value Packs.
Will share the info to you guys once I got the info.
*
Maybe the Wah pack + the other pack that my parents watch would be better.... save a few ringgit only compared to super pack 3

🤔, downgrading to value pack/ super pack now comes with contract?

Like this better do combo already...... maybe like Astro&broadband 100mbps+ Ultra box + downgrade package... squeeze the contract period to the max

Hmm yes. If you wanna change, better one shot change.
If any changes in your package that equivalent to paying the same or lesser monthly fees, a one-time RM10.60 switching fee will be charged.
*
wow, like this is like rm10.60 + 24 months contract.... the Rm10.60 feels redundant already and as if they want to squeeze your wallet?

Since your PVR box can work in Hybrid mode, then just make sure you have access to Astro services via satellite also lah...
https://shopee.com.my/100-ORIGINAL-Gecen-2-...0420.7101129742

For Astro IPTV, if it happens some sort of packet loss on their server side, then you'll see pixelation like this ady...
Although satellite (Ku band) has rain fade issue, but still it is more reliable than internet-based in some situations.
*
hmm.gif, how do I enable hybrid mode though.... like the Hybrid button on the setup page somehow lands me on 100% satellite mode

hmm.gif, Satellite is more reliable that Astro IPTV other than the potential of misalignment + rain fade? confused.gif rclxub.gif
