You say their cloud recording is a half-baked system, but I'm sure that they are very confident to tell you that its cloud recording service is at "
top notch quality"
allow users to have the freedom to chose which sort of service best to suit them. Can. You downgrade back to PVR box, and the 2 years contract will restart.
That is if you can give tons of good reasons why you want to do that, upon seeking approval with their high higher management, which I think it's going to be tedious and time consuming for everyone, and there's no guarantee they would approve your request.
For ur questions, yes i can no longer access the cloud recodings once i changed it to local only storage, so does all the scheduled recordings were removed (not a big deal since u can schedule them again on the epg page). But all the recodings on the cloud remain intact, u will still be able to access them again when the storage is change to cloud only back. Maybe Astro can consider provide options to the user to select, whether they want the programme to be recorded on cloud or local storage or both, especially when the Ultra Box is connected to the Internet?
Perhaps, they can provide 2 separate Record button options when you press OK button (info banner appear)?
The first Record buttons looks like a cloud icon, another looks like a disk icon, which indicates local PVR.
And then on "My Library" page, they can come out 2 "tabs" page, one is Cloud, another is Local, so that user can stream/play the content from their preferred storage medium.
I also hope that Astro will allow users to change display layout of the My Library page, from "Tiles" to "Details List" similar to the PVR box software, which I think it is easier to see and organise.
Also, hope that Astro improves the My Library page altogether, including options to "Select Multiple" & "Delete All" past recordings they don't want to keep.
