Well if its appear on Asteo channels, nothing weird with that. Interactive mode have been exist for a long time. But on non-Astro channels, that's new. Should it require some sort of permission or what? 😂

Also Disney+ Hotstar ads on TV3 sometimes shows 'exclusive for Astro customers' card.

Reminds me of a Disney Channel commercial on TV3 more than a decade ago.

Anyone here tried out the Astro Go Interactive Mode during live matches of the UEFA Euro 2020, on CH 810?

Ngl it's a really great concept, yet the implementation is sooo lagging on both PC and mobile app I have to watch via Sooka app instead (obviously no Interactive Mode there) but overall it's pretty useful especially when you missed goal moments.

The programme "Hi-5" on Astro TVIQ.... 16:9 aspect ratio programme, but it incorrectly shows as pillarbox (black bars on left and right side) that was meant for 4:3 aspect ratio programmes.
user posted image    user posted image    user posted image

I guess is like this: The actual Hi-5 show is shot in 16:9 aspect ratio cameras, but the video copy that Astro obtain from the content provider is being encoded as 4:3 aspect ratio without the letterbox.
As a result, although Astro TVIQ channel has upgraded to HD (aspect ratio 16:9), but they still process ALL 4:3 video content as displaying pillarbox.  sweat.gif
Theoretically they are not wrong though.

But for those who knows how to differentiate aspect ratio (like me), it is clear that the Hi-5 programme is originally meant to be displayed as 16:9 aspect ratio, so the pillarbox (black bars on left and right side) shouldn't be shown also.
No one in Astro realises this or what?  hmm.gif

The last season of Hi-5 was aired in 2017, yet Astro keeps airing this old season from 2006?

Lag? I used both my phone and my laptop to watch it with the interactive mode, and it's quite ok ah...

What device are you using though?

You mean, you subscribed to the RM15.90 VIP+Sports to stream UEFA Euro 2020 there instead?
You didn't subscribe to Sports pack on your Astro, is it?
*
Old devices, iPhone 6s (2015) & Acer Aspire V5 (2012). As for Sports Pack, I use my friend’s account though. I guess it’s the bad internet connection, I’m using data hotspot.

To be fair, these channels are the replacements of Phoenix channels that were defunct on July 1, 2020, and then revived days later on July 9. It’s pretty a lot of Chinese news channels already this is not News Pack.

You can still watch the TVB News Channel program simulcast on TVB Jade Ch 310, but sure 10-min delay for censorship, Astro ads fill-in and stuff.

You say their cloud recording is a half-baked system, but I'm sure that they are very confident to tell you that its cloud recording service is at "top notch qualitybiggrin.gif

allow users to have the freedom to chose which sort of service best to suit them.
Can. You downgrade back to PVR box, and the 2 years contract will restart.
That is if you can give tons of good reasons why you want to do that, upon seeking approval with their high higher management, which I think it's going to be tedious and time consuming for everyone, and there's no guarantee they would approve your request.

For ur questions, yes i can no longer access the cloud recodings once i changed it to local only storage, so does all the scheduled recordings were removed (not a big deal since u can schedule them again on the epg page). But all the recodings on the cloud remain intact, u will still be able to access them again when the storage is change to cloud only back.
Maybe Astro can consider provide options to the user to select, whether they want the programme to be recorded on cloud or local storage or both, especially when the Ultra Box is connected to the Internet?

Perhaps, they can provide 2 separate Record button options when you press OK button (info banner appear)?
The first Record buttons looks like a cloud icon, another looks like a disk icon, which indicates local PVR.
And then on "My Library" page, they can come out 2 "tabs" page, one is Cloud, another is Local, so that user can stream/play the content from their preferred storage medium.
I also hope that Astro will allow users to change display layout of the My Library page, from "Tiles" to "Details List" similar to the PVR box software, which I think it is easier to see and organise.
*
Also, hope that Astro improves the My Library page altogether, including options to "Select Multiple" & "Delete All" past recordings they don't want to keep.

LOL.
Jangan-jangan nanti Netflix kena tapis by FINAS macam Disney+ Hotstar MY.
Then you will know why I am pissed with Astro and Disney bawak masuk stupid D+H into MY.
Even online platform got censorship.
Like what?
*
Do those a-holes at FINAS even know what's the function of Parental Control in the first place?

Kristal Astro (Brunei) announces that Astro Shuang Xing HD (ch307) will cease on 30 June 2021

It seems to me that Kristal Astro (Brunei version of Astro) is more proactive in informing its viewers about any channels cessation before it even happens, compared to Astro Malaysia.  dry.gif  dry.gif

Meanwhile on Astro Malaysia's Facebook page, all the postings talk about Netflix la, Disney+ Hotstar, On Demand, HBO, Astro First/Best, all the "good stuff" only  sweat.gif
When a TV channel ceases, then the page mentions nothing until you see netizens comments and postings, with photos of the cessation message, and all asking "why this channel ceases?", "got discount or not", stuff like that...  shakehead.gif

Astro Malaysia should learn more like Kristal Astro  whistling.gif

So, it's confirmed Shuang Xing will cease linear TV on midnight. Follow suit like Tayangan Hebat & WLT via On Demand, right?

But, I'm still seeing Shuang Xing's TV guide after June 30, 2021.

Well when I spoke to the sales team during registration for the trial, they told me that the channels which will be ceased from October won't be available on this new Ultra plug&play box. But over here I see Baby TV, Sky News channels are listed too. I am not sure whether these two channels will be ceased or what.
*
All channels listed above, including BabyTV & Sky News, are owned by Disney. You can ask Disney why they don't allow their channels to be aired via the IPTV method, in this case, Astro with both Astro Plug-&-Play Ultra Box & Astro GO app. I don't think BabyTV & Sky News will be ceased also after Oct 1 (at least on Astro, as those two channels will continue to air beside Nat Geo Channel & Nat Geo Wild), but we'll see then.

But, unifi TV has a completely different story; all channels are available to watch via unifi playTV on mobile & unifi TV app on Android TV (unifi Plus Box).

Yeah, it's been a while. Astro did take some of Lifetime programming through their in-house Hello channel.

When watching the opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympics 2020 on CH 781, suddenly cut to advertisement break...? 😓😓
Then I tune to CH785, same advertisement break also.

Meanwhile on TV2, TV Okey and Astro Arena, the ceremony still going on as usual...?

Sports pack viewers get advertisement interruption during opening ceremony, but non-Sports pack viewers gets no advertisement interruption? What logic is this?

Interestingly, Astro uses the old "Astro Showcase" brand (now ABO Movies) back, this time tweaks its original name through Showcase Movies.
