From my experience, first insert your BHP card then just activate your card in pay mode (30 sec countdown) and tap on the reader with the green LED, make sure the phone's NFC pad is aligned well or else it'll decline (often happen to me).

No need for any button presses unlike Caltex
*
I do this very often so the steps is very simple

I neverever insert BHP card first so your BHP must be a new BHP.

most BHP i tried is just tap NFC at terminal and it will show waiting for approval. Once approved, it will say insert BHP card or start filling petrol.

Dont need to align just need tap and wait till you get approving message. Dont just tap and remove within 1 second very high chance to fail.

Same as caltex it's already waiting to accept your nfc card or phone. Just tap.

But when does i need to key in the amount of payment? since i'm registering debit card to my SPay, so might want to prevent the RM200 pre-authorisation charge.

Regardless the amount it will charge you rm200 first and later it will refund you within a few days

You can set the filling amount but you still be charge pre authorization rm200. To set the filling amount u see a number keyboard console on top. Just quickly key in the amount before start filling.

Only way to not get charge 200 is to pay at Inside counter.

What kind of reward point you are talking? Samsung Reward or Credit Card point?

Samsung Reward - it is a known issue, Samsung reward comes after few days if you wave your master card at pump
Credit Card point - I think this should be your bank credit card policy, wave or pin-pay are just the payment approaches and it shouldn't affect your reward point.

honestly speaking i feel samsung pay for wearables is quite useless now. i have 2 devices - phone and watch but due to bank restrictions, i cant add one same credit card on 2 devices, can only choose either 1. previously no issue but now no longer possible.

Logically it is worthy to have 10k point, depends on what you need from the reword list

Apply another card for the sake of using 2 devices, or go for another bank which can support 1 card 2 devices.

U tried preset the amount using SPay?
I tried a few times to put amount before filling... but it still goes beyond that...
No problem with slot-in card... I can preset the amount..
But not with SPay or Wave... it just won't register...

Maybank can be put into two devices no problem.
And mostly I use my Gear due to easiness and fast access.
My phone now rarely use for SPay.

Samsung Pay currently utilises the tokenization services offered by the global payment networks. Each time u added a card into ur Samsung Pay, ur card will be tokenize.
