if u still cant wait 4 8800 2 drop price...u can buy 7900GS 1st 4 maybe 1/2 year n then only buy the 8800 lo

not worth u buy 8800 gts and u sell later..cos when that time the gts price will also drop and the second value will drop also ...maybe that time u have to pay more to get gtx compare now u direct spend 2k...

eg:
buy gts rm1100
price drop and sell gts around 600 (maybe gts that time cost around 900 onli)
then get gtx for rm1.7~1.8k if really that low.....total spend to get gtx = 600 (earn from sell )+ 500 (price of gts - sales) + 1200 (top up to get gtx)  = RM2300  -> more expensive then u buy now...

then must well straight away just get gtx card lo or another alternative sell yr old card n use that extra cash 4 new card lo

then mabe u can keep your new hardware aside 1st while waiting 4 the price drop on GTX lo.u wont lose out.hehe.

Now u already using 7800GS Extreme which performance near to 7900GS. So no point sticking to DX9 card. Nvidia promise to introduce G90 by the end of the year. You should just wait or just buy 8800GTS. If u buy 8800GTX now, I am afraid next "8900GTS" would outperformed 8800GTX with the same price of 8800GTS now.

use the 7800 for ur upcoming rig and get a cheapo 7300GT or 8500GE to use temporarily for ur AMD rig

at the end of the year... upgrade and sell off the cheapo card la.. then the 7800 put back into the AMD rig

A question about PSUs and 8800 GTXs and GTSs. Any suggestion on what PSU to use? I read somewhere in the NVIDIA website that they need 26 amps for 8800 GTS and 30amps for 8800 GTX on the 12v rails. Problem is I've walked around Lowyat plaza and looked at many psus with average of 2 12v rails and some has even 4, but most of them are delivering about  18 - 22amps per rail. Anyone knows of any PSUs that has 1 12v rail supplying anything above 30amps. The silverstone OP65 (www.newegg.com) has one that supplies 54amps. Wonder if there's anything similar anyone is using?

or 8800 GTX / GTS owners finds it no problem running at 22 amps?

If the connection is paralell then you can add the amps. The 8800 GTS has only 1 pci-e connection, so therefore 1x12V rail that connects in, unless you put in some kind of an adeptor to the 6pin male connection on the gts and split it to two and plug in both 12V rails into that. The problem is, how do you identify which is the +12V1 rails and which is the +12V2 rails, what if u accidentally plug in the 5v rail?

LOL..I dont know about that. Many coming games like Crysis etc are on DX10 but i wonder are they going to be FULL DX10 or somewhat compatible with DX9 card but lesser features. If they are compatible with DX9 cards, then i suppose they are able to run on Windows XP right? And is there even any news regarding DX10 for XP?

LCD stills a LCD.. Not as powerful as CRT..
I've tried on a 19" CRT Flat(Samsung Synmaster) and a 19" LCD(Samsung 931c) to play Lost Planet..
I turn the graphic/resolution details to all MAX, and found that when you facing some in-game scene that has mass shaking+blur effect.. CRT Flat no color problem, but i found that LCD will may have a bit color changed, which mean u'll saw some purple color in your shaking in-game scene..

i went to pc fair yesterday ! no much cheap , even some stuff more expensive !!
disappoint 

but one thing is unfair now, why 8600 GTS and above don;t suffer from major price drop ? 8800GTS still rm1k +
