QUOTE(stevenlee @ Jul 15 2007, 10:25 PM) not worth u buy 8800 gts and u sell later..cos when that time the gts price will also drop and the second value will drop also ...maybe that time u have to pay more to get gtx compare now u direct spend 2k... LOL! Ya! I was also calculating something like that! eg: buy gts rm1100 price drop and sell gts around 600 (maybe gts that time cost around 900 onli) then get gtx for rm1.7~1.8k if really that low.....total spend to get gtx = 600 (earn from sell )+ 500 (price of gts - sales) + 1200 (top up to get gtx) = RM2300 -> more expensive then u buy now... |

TRYING to sell my card (see my sig). So far no takers.... Ya, the 8800GTX is tempting. However, to spend 2k on a GC is |

QUOTE(§layerXT @ Jul 15 2007, 11:15 PM) Now u already using 7800GS Extreme which performance near to 7900GS. So no point sticking to DX9 card. Nvidia promise to introduce G90 by the end of the year. You should just wait or just buy 8800GTS. If u buy 8800GTX now, I am afraid next "8900GTS" would outperformed 8800GTX with the same price of 8800GTS now. Ya lo. A bit difficult to predict the future..... Gosh, this is really |

QUOTE(stevenlee @ Jul 16 2007, 10:16 AM) btw, if you just normal gaming y go for high end gtx or ultra.... like me even i hardcore gamer ...i still can fully utilize my 8800 gts also... i would rather go for 8800gts and save 1k in my bank.... QUOTE(skylinegtr34rule4life @ Jul 16 2007, 10:44 AM) 70c to 80c idle True. However, remember the previous few games that has ultra high texture e.g. Doom 4. On my 256mb card, once you set the texture to ultra high, it will state that my graphic card does not have enough memory and will cause a marked slow down during gameplay.Added on July 16, 2007, 10:47 am agree...even 8800gts 320mb can support until 22 inch monitor dy wo...dam worth it man Furthermore, there are already a few games in the market that requires 512mb for full eye-candy mode. Of course, some sifu said that if want eye-candy, go for PS3!!!! About the same price anyway! |

QUOTE(ZomgWtfHax @ Jul 18 2007, 03:22 PM) A question about PSUs and 8800 GTXs and GTSs. Any suggestion on what PSU to use? I read somewhere in the NVIDIA website that they need 26 amps for 8800 GTS and 30amps for 8800 GTX on the 12v rails. Problem is I've walked around Lowyat plaza and looked at many psus with average of 2 12v rails and some has even 4, but most of them are delivering about 18 - 22amps per rail. Anyone knows of any PSUs that has 1 12v rail supplying anything above 30amps. The silverstone OP65 (www.newegg.com) has one that supplies 54amps. Wonder if there's anything similar anyone is using? Yup, that sounds about right (18-22 amps per rail). or 8800 GTX / GTS owners finds it no problem running at 22 amps? Is my question confusing? Don't get confused. 26A for 8800GTS and 30A for 8800GTX is x2 12v rails!!! For example, on my enermax 500w, I have 2x 12v rails that supplies 22A each rail. However, when these 2 rails are combined, the total ampere is 32A, which is enough for the 8800 series. Don't forget that you need both 12v rails (2x 6-pin connection) to be plugged into the GC. QUOTE(ZomgWtfHax @ Jul 18 2007, 04:24 PM) If the connection is paralell then you can add the amps. The 8800 GTS has only 1 pci-e connection, so therefore 1x12V rail that connects in, unless you put in some kind of an adeptor to the 6pin male connection on the gts and split it to two and plug in both 12V rails into that. The problem is, how do you identify which is the +12V1 rails and which is the +12V2 rails, what if u accidentally plug in the 5v rail? I'm not a PSU expert but as far as I know, as long as your total 12v rails are more than the required ampere, then it is adequate. Anybody wanna confirm this?Added on July 18, 2007, 4:30 pmMaybe i should just go buy the card and not worry about the amps and those kinda shit, and if something happens to my hardware, i'll just go back to the shop and screw people up. Ya, buy the card but ask the PSU question first!!! Anyway, you can still use 2x molex connectors also.... |

QUOTE(akachester @ Aug 1 2007, 12:33 PM) LOL..I dont know about that. Many coming games like Crysis etc are on DX10 but i wonder are they going to be FULL DX10 or somewhat compatible with DX9 card but lesser features. If they are compatible with DX9 cards, then i suppose they are able to run on Windows XP right? And is there even any news regarding DX10 for XP? AFAIK, crysis will run in full DX10 under vista. However, they can still be played in DX9 rig just like any other DX9 games. Just no DX10 features lor..... |

QUOTE(efisherman @ Aug 2 2007, 01:59 PM) LCD stills a LCD.. Not as powerful as CRT.. It is a fact that LCD will lose to CRT in many, if not most, aspects. However, there are some advantages of LCD to CRT in terms of space, weight, radiation, etc that for many people, these advantages usually outweighs the advantages of having a CRT. Due to these factors, many users are gradually migrating to LCDs..... (pls note, the phase "many users". I'm sure some people will swear by the advantages of CRTs!!!)I've tried on a 19" CRT Flat(Samsung Synmaster) and a 19" LCD(Samsung 931c) to play Lost Planet.. I turn the graphic/resolution details to all MAX, and found that when you facing some in-game scene that has mass shaking+blur effect.. CRT Flat no color problem, but i found that LCD will may have a bit color changed, which mean u'll saw some purple color in your shaking in-game scene..
