guys, for digi roaming in china, are we able to get 3G and LTE?

i was searching on their website and i saw this note.

Important notes in Roaming Country
China - Due to an incompatibility issue between 3G/4G bands of China Mobile and mobile devices available in Malaysia, you may not be able to connect to 3G and 4G/LTE on China Mobile. Kindly select 2G/GSM in your phone settings

My iPhone 6s Plus was able to get LTE signal in Beijing last year using Digi roam monthly

Can use LTE. I get 4G all the time as it's roaming with China Mobile, China's largest network.
Best thing is with data roaming you don't need VPN to connect to China's blocked sites and apps e.g. - Google, FB, WhatsApp, YouTube, Telegram.

thanks fruitie!

seems like everyone doesn't have any issue with LTE, maybe the note only applied to some devices.

No issue, previously many years ago only China Unicom can be compatible with our phones' 4G. These days China Mobile also has no more issues.
I always go to China and the coverage is really good. Enjoy your trip.

As long as your phone supports TD-LTE and TDSCDMA, it shouldn’t be an issue.

It should work automatically, are you able to receive other SMS-es? I have no issue in receiving OTP or any SMS. Get someone in Malaysia to send you a SMS to verify if it's Digi issue or OTP (bank) issue?

I have no received any sms except for Digi’s SMS as below:

Get MyDigi app to enjoy all-in-one access to your Digi account, bills, live chat support and app-exclusive rewards! Download the app now: http://digi.my/myapp

So far I have no experienced on roaming service as I always get local SIM card for internet service, but this time due to urgent need SMS OTP

Alright, will get someone send me a sms, see whether work or not. Thanks smile.gif

I just observed something when using Digi's Tony Roma vouchers. This was at the TR in IOI City Mall.

If you buy a voucher in front of the waiter taking your order - For example, I asked him if the Asian Salad was available, he said it was and I then pressed on "Buy for RM9.99" & the app goes on to the successful purchase screen. - the waiter never asks to redeem the voucher. I did it twice in succession for 2 different vouchers. The first time was serendepitious. 2nd was specifically to see if it was repeatable.

So make sure to tell him to do so or he might end up having to foot the bill when management finds out.

Means the voucher is still valid as long as didn't click redeem?

Yes. And supposedly they need to record voucher code somewhere in their POS, else end of the day balance won't tally.
Kesian them need to bear the cost.

Owned this MiFi before, good choice if want portability. For me, I can live with the bigger size of Huawei B618 so I sold this MiFi. B618 pulls signal better than M1. M1 still loses a bit in this aspect.
*
agreed, I also had both modem before. But if your place got good 4G LTE signal it might not far different in speed performance. Just that M1 more to portability easy to carrying the modem to use outside the house. Can last 11-12 hours single charged.
