I'm kinda pissed off with my second P20. I rebooted my phone today and suddenly my Google Play Store disappeared! I tried reinstalling the app but to no avail so I restarted it and boom! I was stuck with bootloop! Tried going to recovery, shutting it down, restarting etc but nothing!

So I have no other choice but to painfully wipe my data and factory reset! Luckily I backed up everything with my other phone (htc u11+). I'm going for a trip this Friday and it pisses me off because I wanna use this as my travel phone but I am too lazy to setup everything now!

I'm pretty sure it's just a software glitch but if this happens to my actual trip, then I'm definitely gonna frigging curse Huawei!!

first time hear this issue, when and where did you buy it?

It's from tanceline333 in Shopee so it's an ori set but I don't think it matters anyway.
I also searched but didn't see any similar issue.

My best guess was "Google Play Services" is installing in the background (as I saw an update on my HTC U11+ when this happened) and I restarted the phone while it was updating that MIGHT have caused the bootloop.
But if this happened to someone who doesn't know anything about phones, he will surely go to the service center and have it fixed. Think about the hassle it could bring to the customer.

Anyway, I'm quite happy I did wipe/factory because it basically cleaned all unnecessary scripts on my phone and felt relatively faster.
I also noticed Huawei Themes app UI has changed (?) Or is it just a coincidence that they overhauled the theme app?

Can anyone recommend me an alternative super charger ?

My p20 pro takes bout 3 to 4 hours to full charge.

This is crazy. The super charger fuction will be back to normal charge after bout 10mins of super charging..aiyo

What charger are u using ? Is oem one it ? So far I've been charging using the original that comes with the phone. Unless emergency then had to charge using normal charger will need to bear the slow charging compare to supercharge. Was thinking of finding an alternative but haven't convince enough to get it

To be honest, i have not used the charger that came in the p20p box. i have been using my old charger, which is a normal 2A (max) charger, and i dont mind that it takes 2+ hrs to full from around 18%

but i have read a review before that huawei's fast charging is not really the best as it tapers out a faster than others (meaning, the current/voltage drops to normal earlier). iirc, GSMArena did a review on one of Huawei's phone that came with their fast charger.

this is what they said:
"Charging a phone from near zero to 100% takes two full hours. But it's not the final figure that's disappointing, it's how it gets there. Most phones push most of their juice in the first hour or so and then settle into a leisurely pace with trickle charging. The Nova 3 charges only 55% in the first hour and only about 25% in the first 30min. The charging speed seems very uniform across its two-hour charge time, which is very odd for a fast charging solution and not really ideal for quick top-up's."

That guy mistaken fast charging with super charging

Nova 3 only got fast charging, 2ax9v same like my p10 lite, which will take 2.5 hour to full

P20 got supercharging, 4.5ax5v, equal to 22.5watt, for my p20 that won't even take 1.5 hour to full

Fast charging is good for ur battery, coz u dont drag ur battery to heat over 2 hour which will degrade ur battery life, and most fast charging will slow when reach almost full

Anyone notice if we take picture inside app such as whatsapp or telegram, the camera kind of zoom in? When change to stock camera, then normal view.

3rd party apps only use the same viewfinder as the video when capturing both photo and video hence, the "zoomed in" view.
It's like you screen recording what you see in the display.
This is the big difference between iPhones and Android phones wherein their stock camera is integrated with other apps so the quality is the same.

I never use any camera outside the stock camera app even if I want to specifically capture and send it to WhatsApp.
