I think you need to update your knowledge about SSD.
Nowadays High-end SSD(PCIe) can run for 2000++ - 3000++ MB/s,
Mid-end SSD(M.2) can run for 1000++ - 2500MB/s,
Mid-low-end SSD(Sata III) can run for 500 - 600+ MB/s,
low-end SSD can run for 300 - 500+MB/s.
*
LOL, you think everyone can afford for those PCI-e and M2 and NVME?
Even they will, but existing motherboard and CPU support it? Pls do your homeworks also.
You should also notice I was writing SATA hardrive since mostly Malaysians still using that.

Kingston Fury? actually it's depend your model also, 120G, 240G, or 480G
It's varies data transfer speed and IOPS, but more than enough for enjoying 800Mbps

My 7200 hdd still max out at abt 40mb/s leh
*
Then you'll stucked around 200+Mbps rclxms.gif
Can get 1 SSD for primary and migrate whole OS into it, then using existing HDD as storage

got this router when subscribe to unifi last year. good enough for 300 mbps speed right?

[attachmentid=9916774]
*
Yes for 4 LAN users, and both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi.

But based on my past experiences in Oversea, if your areas is overcrowded by 30+ wifi hotspots.
Then you 2.4Ghz wifi or your smartphones only support 2.4Ghz then basically you can't surfing at all due to kept disconnected.

I'm expected next year, mostly Malaysia shops/outlets/public will giving free wifi everywhere.
Now my rural kampung also got over 20+ wifi hotspots nearby my house, it's just matters of time will kacau my 2.4Ghz only devices... bangwall.gif

Such nostalgia.
My second modem was the Interlink IQ-12345-SA. What's the speed? I forgot, 9600 baud later upgraded to its max of 14.4kbps, I think. Based on that modem alone, you can even pinpoint where I was at that time, 1988. No Windows yet, for multitasking, we had Desqview/386. Who remembers Leech ZModem?
*
WHATS!?
14.4K some more... sweat.gif

july 15, aug 15...

those planning to buy new router, new adaptor, new pc, new cable, new... please note:

will kick in on sep 1, i think..
*
tongue.gif tongue.gif PC shops got big businesses again until next year during Unifi upgrading...

New Gigabit Router
(according forumers, can request free from TM)

New LAN cable Cat-5e / Cat-6 / Cat-6a / Cat-7
(Cat-5 only up to 100Mbps, Cat-6a/7 is for future 10Gbps connection)

New Motherboard/PCI card to support Gigabit port
(if using old PC system, always ensure your drivers is support gigabit even you running Wins 10)

New SSD which minimum data transfer speed above 125MB/s
(your antique SATA HDD will dragged your surfing speed around 100-200Mbps)

Will 32bit Windows slow down surfing, answer is maybe due to limited 4GB ram supported which mostly used by browsers.
(solution for smoothly is upgrade OS to 64bits)

----
Conclusions:
For those who FANCY for Gigabit connections, you will need to UPGRADE your hardware, software and firmware to enjoying full speed gaven by TM/TIME.
If you no need this crazy speed, average Malaysians able to get 300-450Mbps for current PC, Laptop, mid-end smartphone markets.

Should be good, it uses AC, with transfer speed up to 1.2Gbps according to the site. However, once the upgrades take places, you can run SpeedTest and let us know here who owns the same router. smile.gif
*
Precisely is 1331Mbps, but mostly Speedtest not offer benchmark above 1Gbps due to mostly servers hosted was connected 1000Mbps ports only.
10Gbps servers is deadly cost for current markets.

i wud think so...

but better let the experts explain... how much.. biggrin.gif
should be yes, 6%.
*
QUOTE(Ben Ling @ Jul 16 2018, 06:57 PM)
so basically services will be quoted with 6% charge, such as Internet service, repairs right ?

and will electronic items also classified to be charged with SST ?
*
LOL, how you all can know it's tax @ 6%?
Last time SST was above 10%...

But SST only need pay 1 time only, which is charged directly to manufacturers and importers.
While GST 6% to importer, and computer shop, then you. Total 6% paid 3 times = 18%

Cat 5 can do only 100mbps, but the most common type Cat5E can do 1Gbps if below 30meter. Same for Cat6 if it is short.

a 80gb super old HDD transfer at ~40-50MB per second thats Megabyte, not Megabits. a new latest 2TB HDD can do ~200MB/s. Again Megabyte. For 800Mbps unifi, thats only 100MB/s. a 200-300GB HDD can reach that speed already.

a picture is better than 1000 words, why need waste money for HDD while you can get faster SSD?

The problem is it dont work that way... When the GST is 0%, did u see the price drop 18%? After SST kick in, the price will increase back 6%... So it was 6-6+6 = 6...

LOL, it's not my problems...
It's was duties of our government and sellers.

pretty sure you cannot get 2TB SSD at ~RM250.
*
oic, download king ho...

Trust me after you'll get SICKED with 100Mbps connection very soon, mostly Malaysians will throw away download habits later...
Streaming better and faster, also didn't BREAK THE LAWS...

Beside HDD and SSD, do you know got Hybrid drive which can running 140MB/s and 2TB also..

You forgot about the 30Mbps's upload speed from 5Mbps to 10Mbps much much earlier than others when TM secretly rolled out before they officially upgraded the upload speed? tongue.gif
Yes, I was lucky but now I don't know. laugh.gif
She is already on TQ Free Upgrade 50Mbps. She is living in a condo, when I got RM 10 upgrade to 100Mbps, she didn't get the call despite we are having the same package.
So I kinda expected her infra is old stuff and may not be eligible this round, my guess was right.
*
Mostly early condo/apartments was install VDSL which couldn't offer more than 100-200Mbps yet.

QUOTE(eclectice @ Jul 18 2018, 11:50 AM)
For TM problematic infra design, copper lines are present of most high-rise buildings and it may not cope with higher speeds. But, I wonder why TIME is able to get its infra ready to support much higher 500Mbps as its target market is all high-rise buildings. Maybe, TM will try to solve the availability issue in the future.
*
Because mostly TIME was powered FTTH? while TM was went for upgraded ADSL to VDSL for mostly high-rise building?
