QUOTE(soonwai @ Jul 14 2018, 04:47 PM) Re your 5G test, AC18 is 3x3 MIMO, what was the other device on Wifi? Perhaps his devices only connected 802.11n or modem not support 802.11ac.My tests on 5Ghz. Router is 4x4 but the other device is 3x3. Result is 850Mbps. iPerf3 ![]() 800Mbps+ iPerf3 from MacBook Pro Retina 2013 (USB3 GBe Ethernet) to MacBook Pro Retina 2013 (5Ghz AC 80MHz) He need check his settings first. Max speed for N is 450Mbps, AC is 1331Mbps, but if connected LAN cable RJ45 Cat6 then full speed is 1000Mbps only. This post has been edited by wilson1stop: Jul 14 2018, 03:58 PM |

FYI, 60GB quota was written inside every UNIFIers agreements since N years ago.
it's was subject to TM decisions, 60GB is more than enough for entry levels. It's just RM79 after all... |

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Jul 14 2018, 08:40 PM) If TM follows the way on how they did to those 50Mbps->100Mbps Thank you surprise upgrade last year, most likely, they will come to your house to check first. If the equipments are old, they will change it on the spot before upgrading. So people won't have reason to blame the old equipments. Change new equips need pay extra or re-contract. BETTER BUY UR OWN, if not sure, ask again contractors (Normally they will tell you the truths)Now we only need to know whether TM will do the same thing as well on this Unifi turbo plan. And they also need to consider the amount of available stocks, and the choices of router that can support those 800Mbps users. |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Jul 14 2018, 10:13 PM) Is it?I'm think they go random... 100Mbps is NOT impressed for me, I've used before 1000Mbps thru Holland, Romania, USA, Singapore VPS which is extremely blazing fast~ Those who kept said need more hard drive is NEVER using high speed before, NO NEED DOWNLOAD anymore if you're get used with Streaming. Another TIPS for those stayed high-rise, when Singapore first launched in HDB their 300Mbps only managed get actual 30-50Mbps only. I'm hoping that nowaday technology is improve for better speeds, GOOD LUCKS!! 100Mbps Fiber in South Korea only costing 3 meal(s) Malaysia's TM and Unifi costed around 30 meal(s) for SAME speed. QUOTE(tzh2001 @ Jul 14 2018, 10:22 PM) Congrat, your max speed is 200Mbps, so no need wasting another $$$ for upgrades, just wait another Free Upgrade after 100Mbps one But TM technician locked your MAX SPEED @ 135Mbps Download and 45.5Mbps Upload This post has been edited by wilson1stop: Jul 14 2018, 09:27 PM |

QUOTE(tzh2001 @ Jul 14 2018, 10:35 PM) Not sure with VDSL, you can request technician lower your 100Mbps if internet was unstable for a while.Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) It's a value measured in dB and it describes the relation between the signal strength to your house versus the noise, which affects your copper line. The noise is normally magnetic disturbance from high voltage cables etc. The higher the dB value is, the better your line will be, as the signal strength outperforms the noise. Typical values are: 10dB and lower is bad 11db – 20dB is OK 20dB – 28dB is excellent 29dB and above is outstanding Line attenuation Basically it's the distance between you and the ISP and the quality of the copper to your house. It's also measured in dBs and you can check the number on your ADSL statistics page. The closer you are to the ISP, typically the better speeds you can get. It also depends on the amount of users, who connect through the same copper. In short, the lower this number is, the better: 20dB and below is outstanding 20dB – 30dB is excellent 30dB – 40dB is very good 40dB – 50db is OK 50dB and above is bad SNR Margin is a value to set in order to get the speed you desire. It's the difference between the actual SNR (dB noise) and the line attenuation required to sync at a specific speed. This also depends on the ADSL technology, ADSL (up to 8 Megabits), ADSL2 (up to 12 Megabits) or ADSL2+ (up to 24 Megabits). Calculation example: Desired downstream in Kilobits per second: 8096 (ADSL) SNR: 44 dB Attenuation: 35 dB SNR Margin: 44-35 = 9 dB In conclusion, in order to get speeds close to 8 Megabits for your normal ADSL, the SNR Margin should be set to 9 dB, when the noise measurements are the above values. |

QUOTE(5p3ak @ Jul 14 2018, 10:45 PM) depend what you want or your contractor can offer. If you want thru ceiling then super slow 1-2 hours. Install Hyyptv is another wasting time, and need testing again~ For my case, only lying cable thru windows, below 20 minutes kaodim lio... But your's TM migrate might took some time as need to wait HQ after contractor called them. |

QUOTE(roarus @ Jul 15 2018, 01:04 AM) Hi! I saw some posts dated May that some of you are using the 1st gen box, may I know if it's this? If yes, can also confirm if it works with the current unifi tv offering? Still using HyppTV for what? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I've kept it after a week or so of installing unifi back in 2010, tried it recently and couldn't get it to do anything other than INIT and show time (correct time which indicates it could communicate to TM's time server). For my case, likely need to replace by paying TM/extending contract? Thanks 100Mbps++ can streaming Android Boxes for over 2000 Channels for FREE~ Also come with HyppTV everywhere, can streaming in Internet TV too. QUOTE(rontol @ Jul 15 2018, 01:17 AM) yeah....apartment.... those value...i don't think can check from current modem Reason 1: you cable was cutted accidentally or broken.using DIR-850L well....the thing is...suddenly only....was all fine for 1-2 month +/- .....rat eat/disturb? Reason 2: your BTU might faulty if 1st gen, 3rd gen is fine. Reason 3: your house too far from DSLAM and caused by noise line too. This post has been edited by wilson1stop: Jul 15 2018, 12:37 AM |
