yeah, realised that around noon time. wonder what happened.
*
Probably closed by the official team cuz the page was leaking too much unannounced stuffs.

QUOTE(thankyou @ Jun 11 2018, 05:01 PM)
Maybe that's not an official WeChat Pay FB page?
*
Yeah, most likely it's not, cuz previously when they announced the availability of the Wallet, they stated that the source was from Wechat Malaysia staff.

Anyone experience after top up WeChat pay then when withdrawal money unable reach ur bank account after 2 working days? There no support phone to call as well, not sure this WeChat pay in Malaysia is a scam
*
If it's a scam, it wouldn't appear in our Wechat.

Try contacting them via their official account on Wechat, it's on the first page of this thread.

My MY wechat pay cannot top up/withdraw.
I think few days ago still can. and the wechat pay malaysia fb page down. Lol
I thought they said official launch date should be today?
*
I literally kept opening fb and lyn every couple of hours to see if there's any news about it, and then the fb page suddenly got down.

Not sure who to blame here, the mainland team or the malaysian team. But after all, the fb page wasn't the official one anyways, probably some leaker who knows someone from the team.

but Raya is this weekend. Seems like having unexpected technical difficulty then.
Would rather the system is perfected rather than launched hastily. Anyway, have waited so long, don't mind to wait a few more days
just a bit disappointed though, by the 11 June rumour
*
I have a feeling that the delay is because of the red packet and transfer feature, and probably also because they still haven't get enough merchants to use their service yet, hope it's worth the wait.

i wonder if those are for the mainland Chinese tourists. because Malaysian version is still in the process of updating.
*
Wonder how long is the process? At least make an official announcement or press conference first, they should know that once the hype is gone, it's gone.

Launching it early that lacks tons of features and not able to use it is no different than the local crappy e wallets, really.

Try sign up as Wechat pay merchant via https://revenuemonster.my/wechatpay
The charges is abit expensive, a WeChat Official Account is required to accept WeChat Pay.
USD 99 per year.
*
Wait, I thought it's free?

Charging merchants for adopting the service isn't gonna lead to a good outcome, they don't understand the Malaysian mindset, do they?

i don't think it is the official channel to apply. the name itself sounds weird and the url shows that it is not under wechat.
there are just too much unofficial things going on, the worst is in facebook. until official announcement is made, better just sit down and wait.
*
Actually, I think it is, Revenue Monster is a solution for merchants to adopt e wallet payments, saw that they do provide Wechat Pay, Alipay and TnG app payment solutions. If I'm not wrong, they were there together with BNM and Tencent themselves during the private press conference of Wechat Pay Malaysia last year.

Honestly, after all the half baked stuff and long wait, I'm starting to lose some hope on them, they really suck at managing their launch here. At least have an official public announcement on the news first, Boost up the hype when it's already there, and make a confirmation on the launch date. Now we're just stuck here and hanging without any news at all.

I don't bother anymore if they are opening it here or not, the team is a total failure. laugh.gif
*
And then they're gonna say "another 2 weeks".

You can apply BigPay (BigPay allow topup via credit card) then use BigPay to topup your WechatPay.
*
I don't see the attraction from Bigpay here, it's just your typical prepaid card that can be tracked via the app. The biggest problem for the card is it doesn't have the paywave feature, and it's been overrated on social media for some reason.

Doesn't that make prepaid cards like Mpay and CIMB Lazada card better prepaid card alternatives?

QUOTE(faizalmzain @ Jul 3 2018, 12:43 PM)
i saw one in pavilion at rageus tea or something

as of now favepay/boost/grab pay support more merchants.
*
Their team is a failure, it's July already and there's still no official announcement.

I rather use Boost now, with KK mart joining their service recently, if they can make it available to use in more convenience stores like 7-11, Familymart and Mynews then I see no reason to even care about Wechat anymore.

in bangsar south, many shops already accept favepay, i think because fave office is here so it's easier for their team to approach shops nearby
*
Have you tried it?

Not sure if I wanna try it though, not planning to use more than 2 e wallet service, only focusing on Boost and Wechat.

I see some food stalls and restaurants in few malls at Bukit Bintang are accepting Favepay now.

no problem adding card thou

Don't even bother to top up when you still can't use it anywhere, wait until they make an official announcement, if that ever happens.

Sigh...extremely disappointed with their local team, seems like Boost and Favepay is the way to go for e wallet now.

Maybe someone should also open a dedicated discussion thread for them as well, to encourage people adopt the e wallet solution. icon_idea.gif

I wonder why your thread WeChat Pay so isolated here in this section. It would be much appropriate to be homed in Finance section. Look for admin help to move over leh.

There should be threads for overwhelming Alipay, Boost and Favepay, really. BigPay thread, sort of eWallet too but featured with MasterCard, so got the pseudo identity to be housed in that section.

Others small potatos like kipple, Vcash, etc may also contribute to market sooner.
*
I don't know lol, I thought e wallet is related to mobile phones so I chose to open it here.

Anyways, I'll try requesting admin to move this thread tomorrow, maybe also try requesting them to open a dedicated section for e wallet and mobile payments as well, that would probably sort things out.

Maybe some folks here who are using Boost and Favepay can contribute by opening a thread for them as well.

Seriously, e wallet and mobile payment need a lot more awareness.

QUOTE(conqu3ror @ Jul 6 2018, 05:44 PM)
Another new e-wallet coming... RAZER PAY

Cooperate with Berjaya Group- Vincent Tan, now free RM10 bonus when sign up.

Kinda wide range of retail accepted, like 7-eleven, Kenny Roger, Starbucks and etc.

But let see how far they can go...
*
Initial impression doesn't seem to be that good though, many are already complaining about it on Play Store.

I was thinking of giving it a try, until I saw the latest ratings on Play Store.

So I went and try Favepay instead as my second e wallet with Boost being my main one, loving them so far!

Like BigPay got Prepaid Card as tag.
But it rather useful on desktop version of Lyn.
Anyway, objective is to be in Finance and Business Section would be much logic for wechat pay.
*
Already made my request, hope it works.

I want to ask about the alipay.
That day i met a china tourist wanted to use alipay/wechatpay
So i wonder, they can use alipay to pay me in RM if i got alipay?
*
Wrong thread here.

But if I'm not wrong, you need to contact Alipay Malaysia to register as a merchant for Alipay, after that mainland chinese tourists will be able to use their Alipay to pay you in RMB, which will automatically convert into RM when the money transfers to your account.

Is it safe to say that Wechat Pay here is already scrapped?
