I had my China wallet years ago. Was able to receive hongbao before this.

Ah, I understand now, basically those who have activated their China wallet before are now able to switch the region to Malaysia now.

Those who never activated it before will have to wait for it to appear.

what do you see now in your interface? Can you even access your China wallet?

If not, just ask somebody to wechat you 0.01 yuan Hongbao, then your Wallet function will be activated

hi, i facing same problem.
I activate by logging out and re-login. You will see the switch region menu on top right after u re-login.

I never activated it before, I can access to it by searching it within the app though, but to activate the China wallet, I gotta link a card issued in China and type in the ID which is also only available for people from China.

I heard that it was actually easy to activate the China wallet few years back, and they implemented a stricter rule which made it only available to register for the mainland Chinese people since dunno when.

I tried the hongbao think before, it didn't work, still required for mainland Chinese ID.

It really appeared after I did a re-login, and now I'm on the Malaysia wallet.

I linked my China Wallet using my Credit card. It worked. I did that last year.

Yes version 6.6.7, I even submitted my identity verification by upload my IC, need to wait 24 hours for verification to be done.

It's already available now, and I didn't have to submit any identity stuffs, just enter my card info and I'm all set.

Mine is on version 6.6.6 btw.

Nothing much to explore at the moment.

Just received message from WeChat Pay MY, my verification info is approved, now i can reload my wallet up to RM4,999

Entering card info is just to link your debit card to the WeChat Wallet.
Submitting the identity info is another thing. It protects your money from being misused by somebody (by transferring the money into their account). You can find this by following these steps: wallet > tap on the 3 dots on the top right corner > payment management > identity verification

I don't see that in mine though, only transaction / add card / pin management.

Quick update here, alright here's the thing that happened...

On the first try, this was the interface



After that I tried to log out and re-login again cuz I felt that maybe I need to do this to refresh something, and it froze with a black screen for like few minutes and after that I got the new interface, looks like this is the legit one, now I gotta enter my card info again.

yeah... then you need to first link your debit card, then verify your personal info.
