figures it will be between 1060 or 1070.

Do you know how much your 1070ti bottleneck by 6600K @ 1080p? Like GPU usage % how much when CPU is @ 100%.
might wanna estimate if 1070 might bottleneck by my 2500K as well, if also like that then I aim for 1060 save some money. haha
*
Hard to say, it depends on the game and graphic settings:
Monster Hunter World around 60fps faced CPU bottleneck
DOTA 2 cannot break past 200fps because CPU bottleneck. My friend who had 4.5Ghz 6700k can break past
Rise of tomb raider CPU bottleneck around 90fps i guess
it is all right around gtx1070/ti limit

oh ya, when i was hit with cpu bottleneck, GPU usage is like around 90%, not 99%, but on 1440p

I think i decided 1070ti for my rig. Which brand should I buy ? I plan to oc..
*
Just get any major brands that it is easier for RMA like Asus, MSI etc. I’m using Galax GTX1070ti and I liked it. Cooler isn’t as good as MSI Gaming X but it’s still pretty good(few celcius higher), it was cheap when I bought it.
Oced my 1070ti and never reach 80C in non aircon room

Are you sure iphone was 2007

I thought it was 2008

hmm.gif hmm.gif

Anyway i just threw 3.5k plus on phone

So can forget about RTX today hahahaha
*
what phone did you get lol.

I sold my second pc and excess GPUs and got around 6k. Used 2k to pay income tax and left with 4k. Was gonna use it for 8700k system and new 70 or 80 series after getting few thousands from selling my 6600k and 1070/ti. But ended up bought PS4 and another monitor for it instead to put in my company lodging...

also spent 3.4k for new set of my truck’s tyres, almost one rtx2080 there sigh

No much mood seeing new GPU prices. Even the RTX2070 should be around 20% faster than my 1070ti now. Maybe can consider upgrade if got alot bonus next year...

Dilemma of big company, they knew their software sucks to hell but unwilling to admit. TBH if they would just put Android One in their phone, I would jump in and buy.
IMO it's lack of competition ( AMD/ATI  ranting.gif  ) while at the same time, games are pushing hard on GPU. nVidia need to push for more power but since no competition, they can jack up the price as well  sad.gif
Remember last time I only buy mid range GPU ( ie 660 ) and it's enough for all my gaming needs. Reminder, dont kena poison of UW or 4K  laugh.gif
*
GTX1080 should still have enough performance to run 3440x1440, but 3840x2160 is the one killing GPUs lol.
5 megapixels display (UW) vs 8.3 megapixels (4K)

its a reference card pcb = as FE with cheap plastic cooler incomparison to FE.

so.. u consider this as reasonable??
*
if reference pcb with reference quality parts its not bad. As long as the cooler is good and have thermal contact with memory and vrms.

All my previous GPUs like sapphire R9 290 Tri-X and Asus GTX1070 dual have plastic coolers but works without any problems

think you missed the point of overpaying for crap quality just because it works.
*
I don't think it is overpaying when tri fan zotac 2080ti is rm820 cheaper than dual fan asus 2080ti

ah you are still harping on asus

instead of comparing it vs rtx 2080ti founders edition.
*
Because most of the custom GPUs are using reference PCBs anyway.

betcha cpu bound

since all unity based engine always doesnt like multi-threading cpu and prefer high speed single thread.

sad that cpus today struggling to meet the performance of gpus

last time its usually gpu limitation

gpu test 2 thermalthrottle /powerlimit throttle to 1920

i am only 500 points difference with his volt modded overclocked to 2200 with double powerlimit.

thats what i meant their windows not optimized.

Despite dreaming of the latest and the greatest, remember that many more gamers are hoping for improvements at the RM 500-800, mainstream budget. Only when you come to lowyat then you feel like RM 1100-1900 is the normal price range for GPUs... basically the "enthusiast" budget level.

When will we see the next budget king like GTX550 Ti and GTX1050 Ti?
*
1050ti isn’t the real budget king

the real one is gtx1060 6GB after launch. My friend bought brand new for less than 1k short time after launch that’s a steal

The one less than 1k was the 3GB version, as I recall. I got my 1050Ti at around RM 650 also. Less than RM800 and can handle 1080p beautifully... I think that is the sweet spot there. Many reviewers call it "best bang for your buck".
*
it was really 6GB

my friend bragged about it to me lol

just saw comparison of rtx on and off on youtube. Have to say it is impressive. It is not just about the reflections, but the distribution of how much light on every surface. With the ray tracing off the walls and small items looked to have uniform amount of light and looked fake.

Those who do 3d rendering using ray tracing like 3dsmax / maya / blender will immediately know haha

Dats what been saying except my argument was cohesion with stability.

Fact ampere will have gen 4
Fact da fastest gaming cpu doesnt
Fact ryzen has stability issues
Guess ryzen 3 will be faster but more likely on smt

So theres nothing perfect to pair the gpu unless u start gaming 4k etc..

So game devs gonna have a field day.

Hence consoles which the dev tunes a specific set is more appealing on stability and consistency.
*
What sort of stability issues on ryzen? Really curious because I want to get zen 3 in the future

Ram for starters. Theres a discussion now about da current binned sold is actually worse off that the first few months.

Oh yeah intel also has some F ed up stuff with 10 series.
Avengers edition oc”s badly. 10850k.. even 5ghz is hard. And theres reports going that 10th gen (Except 10900k) has two stepping. One with soldered and another with TIM.

Ram.. bdies da latest ones are just damn weird.
*
wtf, normal tim cpus? with malaysian weather gg liao
