Apparenty PALIT 5080 gpus are in much abundance that you can get one with MSRP price @5699 without bundle.

Can't stay the same for 5090, still requires bundle AND the stock is very limited 1 - 2 units available in each store

the one I saw yesterday in pcimage kota kinabalu, i think got 3-4 5090s, 5080 got like 8, 5070ti got like 10, the rest alot of 5070

made me feel soon will not require bundles anymore

LOL so actually its possible for resellers to sell GPU at official NVidia MY MSRP! What about logistic cost, or taxes, or profit margins, blah blah blah that Nvidia fanbois spew here to justify paying scalper prices from distros?

Jensen & scalper distros managed to con these waterfishes to overpay because their impatient hahaha.

As I said, give it time, be patient, and never pay over MSRP for MSRP cards.

it is the very base card like msi shadow

alot of them have their own msrp like 100-150usd more to get more profit from the super thin margin nvidia gave them which is kinda sad...

My experience with the RTX 50 series so far has been positive. I’ve been on it since early February. Based on Sun Cycle’s price, I don't think I ever overpaid.

Story time...

I pre-ordered the 5080 from a "reputable" store in Lowyat back in January. They weren’t sure which AIB brand would arrive first but this was what I got first week Feb:

The 5080 reviews were generally positive although some pointed out that 16Gigs of VRAM might not be enough. Games like Indiana Jones and Star Wars Outlaws pushed the VRAM to its limits when maxed out (and when it hit me, it was a slideshow, surprised how easily it hit with these new titles). I’m using a Samsung Neo G9 57 (7680x2160@240Hz).

My previous 4080 could only run 8K wide at 120Hz. Finally seeing 240Hz working with MFG in supported games was a big moment. The performance was simply magical when MFG worked.

About three months later, I decided to go all in with my dream build 😎

My last custom DIY setup was over 10 years ago. Back in 2024, I had the 9800X3D (my first time not choosing Intel!) in mind and waited for Nvidia’s top-tier GPU which turned out to be the 5090.

Fast forward now May 2025. The 9800X3D and 5090 build is complete and it’s been nothing short of extraordinary on the Neo G9 57.

Here’s my journey in order:

- Bought the Neo G9 57 in 2024, but the 4080 wasn’t enough (expected as much)

- Kept the idea of a new build in mind for 2025, more of a personal goal than a need

- Upgraded to the 5080

- Sold off my 3090 + 4080 to help fund the new setup (both 'cheap' OEMs with no warranty but a little surprised by the demand + price it reached)

- Built a custom PC with the 9800X3D and 5090

- Decided to keep the 5080 with my Dell 11900k gaming PC as "spare" and display relegated to my old 3440x1440 144Hz and in common/work setup area

How much did you managed to get for the 3090? Not gonna lie in some ways I'm feeling gatal wanna sell it and get 5000 series.

i will not worry on the 12vhpwr unless it a 4090 or 5090

after few times plug and unplug need to change to new cable to be safe. Alot of issues are from the used cables.

Did you even look at current GPU prices?  The 5070 Ti costs basically RM1.5K+ over the 9070 XT right now, with the 9070 XT performing quite close to it outside of RT icon_idea.gif
The 5070 is certainly better of course, but do you want to pay RM2.5K for effectively a 4070 Super with the potential problems of running out of VRAM for future games?  Those are not cheap cards mind you sweat.gif
*
I saw 5070ti cards as low as ~rm4100 in stock just waiting for you to buy in shops. Cheapest 9070XT is like rm3500-3600

Solid, Shadow, Ventus, Prime, GamePro are MSRP baseline models. What I meant OC models are the Amp, the Trio, TUF, Gamerock models which arent the high spec but one tier above MSRP model. Depending on the price gap between them, some of these higher tier models might worth it due to its better cooler others its way to highs. It depends.

Still it's better to buy next tier base msrp model (ex: rm4100 5070ti) than expensive 5070 models (ex: gigabyte gaming oc 5070 rm3500), only worth to get expensive models if it's the level of 5080 and 5090 because the gap is too big or no higher tiers liao

5060 apparently wasnt so bad even if it was the card that reviewers couldnt wait to whack it, moreso with Nivida shennanigans about not providing drivers

In terms of perf uplift theres actually meaningful gains giving a jump up to previous next tier GPU (4060TI). This is actually better than 5060TI (which cant match 4070), 5070 (which cant match 4070TI), 5070TI (which cant match 4080).

Then in terms of value its also some of the best,

user posted image

Im sure many will say a lot about its 8GB VRAM, but on a perf level it didnt hamper it so much as to be unplayable. As a GPU for the masses it would be a much worthy successor to 3060 rather than 4060 but that also is a sad disappointment to say that to see even slightly meaningful GPU perf gains is only coming every 2 gens.

Now lets see what AMD will reply with 9060/XT but from the start the price we know will disappoint  cool2.gif .

Problem is still the price. It is basically a RTX3070 with modern features. RTX3070 was rm2399 on launch 4 and half years ago, but RTX5060 starts at RM1499.... It should be more like RM1200-1300 for 8GB vram

Indeed price of GPU (and hardware in general) has gone up but then if you factor in inflation rates has gone up a lot the past few years and that manufacturing cost has gone up too, there is reasonable acceptance that prices cannot remain same same as before. Not in the US and moreso in Msia where our RM swings wildly. Whether the price of RM 1500 is justified level for xx60series card, its up to the market to decide.

In any case, dont buy when the price isnt agreeable. Wait until prices drop, people complain coz they have no patience to wait.

The beauty of nvidia GPUS is they do follow market trends and prices will adjust to sales acceptance levels. When 5000series launched it was overpriced due to its hot sales, now that demand has dropped prices are becoming saner, even below MSRP sometimes.

but that's across 2 generations, meanwhile ampere period was awesome, rtx3070 is close to rtx2080ti...
