Suggest: think back how many items you purchase is use up the extended warranty. smile.gif

Mixed bag for me.

A decade ago the extended warranty allows me to get replacement for Dell Vostro laptop mainboard. It was the time when people fix Nvidia GPU by baking them and my laptop so happen to be using the Geforce 8400M.

I still buy extended warranty for two other laptops from Dell but both of them had been reliable up to I stopped using them.

Another thing i want touch is the GeForce driver download size

Man, in another year it will touch 1gb in size, what the hell inside ?

I think I’m reverting back to 457.30, I don’t see any improvements in v46x.xx with my 1080 Ti for Flight Sim, 2D or VR.
Those 30-series should use the latest one.

Just another view of the internals.

Can those bottom brackets be removed and replace with intake fan from bottom? It'll bring nice cool air straight to the GPU if there is vents on the bottom.

Nvidia should just use back to "M" suffix like back in the Maxwell days (960M 970M 980M)

was that possible transplant single fans with dual fans?

what thing to consider if the screw slot fit..

Agree with Bonchi and I've used the Arctic Accelero Extreme III on a 250w card with great result. Just check if its compatible and also use thermal tape instead of the included thermal glue for the RAM and VRM heatsink, easy to swap back to old cooler if need to sell in the future.

what's up with the crazy nvidia price? RTX tax?

The only people who should be buying at these prices are crypto miners. There are better things to do with money than paying for these to play games.

Should I get it or should wait for a better deal?
*
Nay, not worth it. Said by me who enjoy gaming with his 1080Ti rolleyes.gif

Since pascal (last great cards) , newer cards for each series consume more power. I wonder how long do I have to wait to see newer card to consume less energy (example: 4080 to consume less watt that 3080).
*
Yep I'm still waiting for that card that can do 2x 1080Ti at stock 250W. The 3080 almost cut it but its power draw is a tad higher, maybe due using Samsung chips. A little picky on the GPU I want to put inside my SFFPC.

Just sharing new Nvidia driver version 466.27 WHQL issue I face, it is absolutely unusable for me.

It hang both my computer after computer went to sleep mode.

Computer A - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080
Computer B - Intel Core i7 6700HQ, Nvidia GeForce GTX 970M

Back to Driver 465.89 and no more hanging issue.
*
MSFS forum also has people saying 466.27 is causing CTD or crash to desktop for them. So I'm holding on with 466.11 for now, so far so good for the few games I'm playing. Before this I was using an antique 457.30 laugh.gif

GN just roasted the Dell G5 desktop, which is basically a reskinned version of the XPS desktop.

Unfortunately, we're not in the US - Dell is the only option for buying a desktop with an Ampere GPU at a reasonable price.
*
nice video. It'll be fun if a local Youtuber can tear down the version we're getting - i7, RTX3070, better cooler.

cheapest itx available Asrock B660m/itx <--- but its a hot mobo

I'll probably probably pick that up if I'm building a i5 non-k midrange gaming desktop. Shouldn't be issue boosting for gaming, only the VRM wouldn't be able to handle all-core boost workload.

Now still same, Zotac 3070 Ti 82C, after quit game, go take shower
*
Even if use a Strix, the case will still be hot to the touch, and the room will still be hot during gaming right?
The difference will be the temperature of the GPU during gaming right?

Running at around 26fps though. He's playing flight simulator hence the low fps doesn't really matter much. However, doing racing games might need high fps.
*
I think you'll still get 60fps on racing game with acceptable image quality.

To me , they are up naming only.
From 3070 change to 4060 will work.
Unless the GPU power draw for 4060 same as current 3060.
But make sure the price won’t selling the same with 3070 for 4060.
*
4060 at 220W better be faster than 3080 with at least 10GB VRAM and the price of current 3060.

I got a feeling the 4060 and 4070 will disrupt the 3070 Ti and 3080 Ti price/perf in a big way.
