Will it help if I change the intake/exhaust fan to a better aftermarket one? Or is 3080 too hot to pair with this case?
*
Sounds fine if the GPU doesn't thermal throttle. I think aftermarket fans is only going to fix the fan noise, not so much of the air circulation because I remember Corsair fans can be quite powerful, at least those SP120 which I've used.

Frankly the best option would be to sell the case and go get a Phanteks P300A or a similar budget case with high airflow, unless that guy doesn't mind a ghetto mod case. No option for H510i to fit his AIO at the top of the case as exhaust.
*
The H510 does look sleeker than the Phanteks.

Ah man, I was thinking of building a NZXT H1 + 3080 card inside - looking at the temps, might be a little concerning due to the form factor.
*
It is a pretty - but - hot case, with a small footprint haha. Even if new purchase doesn't get the *double* fixed riser cable, you can ask them to ship one to you for free.

can my psu support 3060?
cm mve 550w

currently driving 10400f, 1 ram, 1 ssd, 5 fan, 1 cpu fan

i checked at outervision, recommended is only 423w, so low?
*
Looks fine to me for mid-range CPU and mid-range GPU.

Just did that yesterday and there was a further discount of 15% using a discount code, bringing the final price to 6.2k +/- (10700kf + 3070)

Previously I was quoted a full rig with worse spec (r5 3600 + 3070) without any storage, already cost 7k+, Dell comes with SSD+HDD
*
do update us how soon can you get the PC. I'm curious of that

I'll take AMD cards if they reach the desired price/perf since Flight Simulator doesn't supports RTX or DLSS. It's going to be developed for Xbox-series so it probably won't be using Nvidia proprietary in the near future.

However AMD cards has been priced stupidly high compared to competing Nvidia products in this country, plus the fact there's a shortage... so wait next gen and see...

but they did not mention the TGP for the unit, i have nightmare getting max-q unit last time.

Spec page mentioned the GPU wattage.

80w, is not full power right? see notebookcheck is aroun 60-115w.
*
Idk, need to see if youtuber Jarrod's Tech review it or not. Otherwise I assume Asus cap the power due to cooling limitation.

Just opened the Dell G5 desktop, size is quite small. Im surprised the heatsink is a big size 1, about 12-13cm tall/wide

I fired up Cinebench and try to see the thermal performance, it immediately  shoot up to 95 deg+ and throttle, so i look around and discovered the fan settings default profile which is "Balanced", and the fan speed wont go above 60/70%, so i change it to "Performance" profile, and tried with cinebench again, let it run a few minutes, temperature seems to be stable around 90-92 deg. Anyone know if this is high for 10700kf?

As for the GPU, it is a very long card (think about those 300mm+?) and 2 fans, without tweaking any fan and voltage settings I run furmark for a few minutes, temperature is stable around 78/79

Let me know what you guys think about the thermal.
*
Wow nice to hear! The CPU can use a little -0.12v undervolt haha. Adding some more case fan will definitely improve cooling even further.

Doubt dell mobo bios got voltage adjustment features. But 90C cinebench 8c16 cpu inside a dell... can close eyes, turn off monitoring tools and use. Janji gaming temps is way under control.
*
Can he undervolt using Intel XTU? or Intel stopped allowing that already?

I remember reading somewhere about dell bios disabled xtu. So when you move the slider etc and click apply, nothing changes. It's still worth the try with fingers crossed..  This is more on dell's side, maybe to avoid noobs making the system unstable and then blame on dell.

i guess same reason why ryzen master is also disabled from dells and alienwares.
*
I see, I used to use it on my old 13" Intel 7th-gen Alienware, good stuff.

LOL restart it because 1080 Ti isn't great for mining right?

QUOTE(defaultname365 @ Apr 7 2021, 01:16 PM)
But I do have doubts if a 3090 really is a future proof idea, e.g. a 4080 might come out likely less than $1499 and beat it performance wise, kinda inevitable.

Again, if shortage continues to worsen, a 3090 is not a bad idea since the possible 4080 will be instantly "Out of stock" and even if available, RIP MSRP.

Hmmm....  hmm.gif
thumbup.gif  Awesome, enjoy!
*
If you can get a 3090 at MSRP, I guess it's fine since not contributing to scalper...

1080ti is actually not bad at mining, 45Mh/s at 170w

I heard the Ampere series are better. For people who can get cheap electricity, I guess any modern GPU is good for them for mining laugh.gif

I doubt crypto will crash in this few months,
Those famous tech people like Elon Musk and even Nvidia CEO keep pumping bitcoin  dry.gif
Famous tech Youtuber like Linus and Byte Size also recommend mining if you bought at scalper price.
If the price is not too ridiculous (<2X MSRP), it would be easier to buy card and join mining, instead of refreshing the page every few minutes.
*
You're right.

I rather hope that China make really cheap and efficient ASIC chip that make all GPU mining obsolete even if they can recoup the loss by selling back GPU. And the miners will stay away from GPU for mining forever.

Asic only affect bitcoins and bitcoins arent mined with gpu, it's ethereum that are mined with gpu and people mine ethereum to trade for bitcoins. So if bitcoin trades got better with better asic chips and value goes up, gpu will kena snatch up even more.
*
if using $100 ASIC 100w can mine $1000
vs $500 GPU 100w mine $10
No matter what coin it is it's not worth it to mine with GPU. That's what I meant by cheap efficient ASIC

I guess no luck if I were just to buy the graphic card outright. Looks like I'm gonna use Dell for 3 years.

Better than buying from greedy local distro and seller, force bundle with crap and still asking for high price, they can sell to miners...
