Not anytime soon. Got delayed.

Reminds me the time when the RM5.2k 2080 Ti got price slash to RM2.5k...
because the 3070 is going to sell for RM2.4k

Right now the 3080 Ti dropped from RM7.4k (wtf) to RM6.4k and now RM4k ish...

Buy zotac 3080ti
Free samsung monitor now
*
That monitor isn't worth anywhere near RM1.3k, have to re-sell below half that price because Lazada is only selling it at RM800.
The 24" Samsung Odyssey G3 is a 1080p VA panel, not big enough to enjoy movie, pixel response too slow for competitive FPS. Good for gamers on a budget tho, and better than not giving anything.
Consider it a bundle price...

240fps is the way to go if you're already aiming at 144fps

let say IPS/VA panel since the G2G response time of the pixel itself is more than the RR windows.
*
Maybe not 360Hz, but quite doable with 240hz.
Exciting to see HUB measurements with Asus PG279QM, Gigabyte M28U, Gigabyte M27Q X and Alienware AW2721D pixel response time very close to the 240hz latency.

Eligible Products: Valid on select GeForce RTX 3090 Ti, 3090, 3080 Ti, 3080 desktop, laptop, or GPU.

Looks like these cards will be undercut by a huge margin by the 40-series cards, one tier below them.

1060 doesn't have av1 hw decoder while 3060ti has one. YouTube is  moving away from vp9 codec for most of their higher resolution /frame rate videos.

Anyway, I wish rtx40 and rdna 3 supports h266 encode/decode but I don't think that would happen....
*
Thanks for the info. Watching the same Youtube vid, my 1080Ti doesn't do HW decode when switching to the 8k60 footage, only 4k60 and below.

Time to finally upgrade my 1080ti to a 4080 I guess
*
I'm also planning to go from 1080 Ti to 4070. Looks like double the perf at around the same TDP for my 13L case.

New PSU I'm not worried. I'm more worried about cable modders fucking up the pin out (which they've already done countless times) and/or using low AWG copper (looking at your seasonic).
*
One of my Silverstone SFX 450W stock GPU cable header melted on my 980Ti, probably low quality copper burned out like you said.

Yep, won't even pay RM3k for a new 3080Ti when a 4070 is on the horizon.

Wait for ATX 3.0 Psu launch then decide to upgrade Psu

Also wait for ATX12VO 2.0 before I get a new CPU+Mobo with DDR5.

I'm guessing FS results are due to no optimizations?
*
Yeah, it reaches the CPU bottleneck maybe because MS never plan for the sim to do upward of 120fps in the first place, in the demo they are hitting 135fps!
In fact, the game is CPU bottleneck even with current 3080, albeit without RTX. That's considering the game was maxing out at only 45fps on launch before Asobo fixed it.

DLSS3 will be welcome addition especially for the VR simmer as they will be rendering beyond 4k resolution. VR headset are already doing Motion Reprojection for duplicating frames to hit 90fps for the 90hz headset, but I bet Nvidia "Optical Flow Accelerator" method will yield better quality. I can see slight artifacts from their FS demo video, which is pretty good tbh.

I am quite certain you don't want "motion reprojection" for games like COD and Battlefield.

Big monies previously already spent for Ampere. I am not too confident if just a single generation gap would cause them to spend such amounts again.
I could be wrong. I don't have data like Nvidia does.

Personally, unlike previously where I was running old hardware where I was desperate for new stuffs, I am not this time with an Alderlake/Ampere/DDR5 build.
We shall see if it drops, and when if it happens.
*
I think the price will drop, there is only so many Nvidia fan bois with deep pocket who wanted to upgrade every generation.
There are still a lot of Ampere in the market, new and used.

No amount of excuse can be justified for the hilariously short lifespan of the connector.

why was zotac more expensive than asus during launch if 3k series 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
*
You mean the one time RM3.4k TUF 3080 10GB? That's just a limited run to cheat the price/perf benchmark in reviews. After that we only get the TUF OC version but the reviews are already published. Then the crypto boom happen and the rest is history.

With 4000 series being like... 3-4 slots thick and ridiculous power draw, am I wrong to assume that SFF with a 4000 series is impossible? i can't imagine the heat produced too. Gonna double my aircon bill oredi i bet
*
4090 with stock cooler, probably won't fit in most SFF case.
With a custom loop, it definitely well can.
As for heat, just run the 4090 in "eco-mode" too, lower down its power limit. At the same wattage as a 3090 Ti, the 4090 will still be faster and won't saturate the smaller heatsink people can fit inside their SFF.

The laptop gamers had also been running their GPU as fast as their laptop cooling allow and not to the chip limit. Go small? just sacrifice a little bit of performance.

As for your aircond bill... probably need to run the PC outside of your room like LTT done lol.

very detail power draw vs performance.

*
I'm naive to speculate the eco-mode of the 4090 will bring down the power draw to 3090 Ti level.
It actually goes down to 1080Ti / 2080 Ti level, and still much faster than a 3090 Ti.
Totally usable inside a SFFPC.

Check out Optimum Tech's Youtube, he said it fits inside a T1 SFF case. The power connector may be in the way.
